Upon hearing the insider's words, Lin Yao frowned and fell silent.
Xie Zhuo, unfazed by her expression, continued, "Zhao Chuan has already analyzed the components added to the potion, which are meant to enhance offensive capabilities. Based on this analysis, we suspect that this person is a scout, and there are likely more moves aimed at us behind the scenes.
This individual hadn’t caused any disturbances before the military training, but now seems to be stirring up trouble. It’s possible that they are part of this military training session. But these matters were not hers to worry about. Since the Yunmeng Star garrison base dared to proceed with such plans, they must have made adequate preparations. She didn’t need to fret unnecessarily; she could focus on being a student.
On the morning of the last day of military training, four spaceships arrived at the garrison base carrying students from the Ability Academy, Yunmeng High School, No. 30 Middle School, and Xingfang No. 1 High School.

To save time, as soon as the shooting competition started, the fighting competition commenced simultaneously. This contest was even more ruthless. The first round consisted of a free-for-all on ten platforms. Each platform randomly selected one participant, and the last ten standing would advance.
After the first round of platforms, over five thousand participants moved on. These five thousand then entered the second round of platform battles, where each platform again determined ten winners.
The five or so who emerged from the second round began a third round of scoring matches. Each participant could compete in up to ten matches; victories earned points while losses deducted them, and ties awarded no points. The top scorers would then enter the fourth round of defensive battles.
The top ten competitors would take turns defending their positions on stage. If they achieved ten consecutive victories, they would secure their defense title. If they lost, the next challenger could take their place and continue defending; if successful, they too could advance.
All those who successfully defended, regardless of number, would enter a final series of matches where the participant with the most victories would claim ultimate victory.
With both competitions running simultaneously, it was inconsequential for those eliminated in a single round. However, for those excelling in both areas, it was quite challenging as they had to run back and forth between events.
Fortunately, all the matches were organized by the event's AI, so there was no concern about scheduling conflicts between the two competitions. Ye Yun and You Mi had relatively low combat abilities, and both the shooting and fighting competitions were single-elimination rounds. Therefore, they decided to stay and keep watch at the fighting arena for Lin Yao.
"Lin Yao, you go to the shooting range by yourself. We'll keep an eye on things here for you."
"What are you watching for? The competition will start soon, and the AI will notify us. I don’t see what’s worth watching."
"We'll help you observe which competitors are seed players, record videos, and analyze their characteristics. When you face them, you can think of strategies in advance," Ye Yun explained.
Lin Yao didn’t put all her thoughts into the competition. However, since they meant well, she couldn’t refuse. "Alright, you can watch, but don’t take it too seriously. Even if I know my opponents' characteristics, if I can't beat them, analyzing won’t help."

On the other hand, the third round of the shooting competition proved to be more challenging. Among the remaining competitors, everyone had strong abilities, and their scores were quite similar, making it difficult to determine the top five from just one round of shooting. The organizers had no choice but to increase the difficulty and add another round before finally determining who would advance.
In this subsequent fourth round, the scores in shooting became even tighter, necessitating two additional rounds to decide the top competitor. Just as the results of the shooting competition were announced, the fourth round of the fighting competition began with the defending matches.
Many participants had accumulated points from previous rounds, and those chosen to defend their titles were selected based on their scores. Lin Yao was quick on her feet and surprisingly became the first defender on stage.
Once she stepped onto the platform, the referee announced that defending would begin. Despite her slender frame, many rushed to challenge her. Those who thought they could easily defeat her were not among the top-tier competitors themselves and were quickly kicked off the stage by Lin Yao.
After two rounds of matches, those watching began to realize that Lin Yao's presence on that first platform was not merely due to luck.
