Seeing that she didn't seem to take it seriously, Su Rui reminded her from below, "Lin Yao, this person has Gravity Manipulation; among those at the same level, no one can match their combat skills."

"This is a special function available only on advanced starships," he explained. This function consumes a lot of energy and is typically used only in special situations; regular travel still relies on transition points."
"So what's the difference between this and transition points?"
From what I understand, the main difference is that space jumps are an inherent function of the starship itself and consume its own energy. Transition points are functional structures built along fixed routes that assist starships in transitioning. In my view, the biggest distinction is that one is self-jumping while the other helps starships jump.
Due to time constraints, Su Rui's explanation was somewhat vague.
Lin Yao knew that he was likely just saying some superficial or common knowledge, but she didn't press him for more. Initially, when she heard about space jumping, she thought that the technology for signing space jumps, like the one for transit points, should also be able to solve the issues in the Yunmeng Star System. However, from Su Rui's explanation, she realized that the difficulty of space jumping technology was likely much greater than that of transit points, so she stopped dwelling on it.
