After delivering his response, the aide did not leave immediately but hesitated as if he had something else to say.
Yao Suming glanced at him curiously. "Is there something else?"
"General, do you really have to act as bait? Can't someone else do it?"
Yao Suming smiled slightly. "I am the commander of this force. Who else can lure the Eastern Civilization's starships away if not me?"
The aide wanted to say more, but Yao Suming waved his hand to interrupt him. "Alright, make your arrangements quickly. Once you're done, you should also escape in your mech as soon as possible!"
"I understand, General."

The energy weapons powered up, and soon the area erupted in explosions that formed a network of destruction. However, this level of damage was insufficient to inflict significant harm on the advanced Eastern starship, which remained unperturbed. At that moment, Hatu No. 1 made a space jump nearby. However, they had clearly arrived a bit too late and could only watch helplessly as Expedition No. 1's flagship self-destructed at the center of the battlefield.

Their reunion came at this decisive battlefield, where they witnessed their father's starship self-destructing before their eyes. They were so close to saving him—just a hair's breadth away—but fate had cruelly intervened.
Who wouldn't go mad under such circumstances? The chaos in energy and magnetic fields at the center of battle had reached a critical level; if they intensified their attacks further, any surviving ships from Expedition No. 1 would be caught in the maelstrom as well.
Lin Yao could understand Yao Zhengqi's madness but could not allow him to act recklessly in such a critical moment. She quickly intervened to stop him and instructed Tang Zhengsu to knock him unconscious and take him away.
A commander who lost his composure could have dire consequences for the war effort; she had no choice but to temporarily assume command herself. Similarly, seeing Yao Beiluo's red-rimmed eyes and unstable state, Lin Yao ordered Wang Jin to take him away as well.
"Captain, I can hold on! I'm not leaving!" he insisted stubbornly.

Taking over the position of captain, Lin Yao instructed the starship operators to contact the remaining starships of the Expeditionary Force nearby.
"All starships, this is Hatu One. We are the Cloud Dream Twenty Expeditionary Special Forces. I am Captain Lin Yao of Hatu One. Please retreat from the center of the battlefield; Hatu One is about to initiate maximum firepower against the Eastern starship attempting to escape!"
Even though many did not know who Lin Yao was, most had heard of the once-renowned Expeditionary Special Forces. The starships of the Expeditionary Force quickly complied and began to withdraw from the combat zone.
Once all the starships had retreated, Lin Yao immediately ordered, "Hatu One, charge up and prepare for maximum firepower to eliminate the escaping Eastern starship at all costs!"
Just as the command was issued, Yao Beiluo suddenly shouted, "Wait!"
Lin Yao turned to see him pointing towards the edge of the battlefield where a lifepod was drifting away. "Lin Yao, look! That’s a specially designed lifepod for our commander. My father might still be alive!"
Seeing the hope shining in his eyes, Lin Yao had no choice but to pause the attack order and instructed Zhang Feng to find Koqi.
"Koqi, I need your help. Take a team and rescue that lifepod."
Koqi hesitated at first, noticing how dangerous the position was.
Lin Yao directly pulled a high-purity crystal from her system space and tossed it into his arms. "If you save him, I'll give you this crystal."
A single high-purity crystal could elevate an ability user directly to a higher cultivation level. She believed he wouldn’t be able to resist such an offer.
Soon enough, Koqi agreed. "Once you’re out there, don’t worry about anything else; head straight for that lifepod. After rescuing it, don’t return to the starship—scatter in all directions. I’ll provide cover and arrange for starships to pick you up."
"Wait! I’m going too!" Yao Beiluo insisted.
