"What? The lunchbox fell in the front yard?" Qin Huairu exclaimed as she rushed to go outside.
Shazhu quickly grabbed her arm. "Sister Qin, don’t go! What time is it now? I bet that lunchbox has already been devoured by the San Da Ye's family!"
Hearing that the lunchbox was gone, Qin Huairu's expression changed. She wanted to scold Shazhu but, noticing his pained look, she sighed instead.
"San Da Ye really is something else. He’s a primary school teacher, yet he doesn’t know that found items should be returned? Forget it, Shazhu. I’ll head back now; Bang Geng is still hungry."
Feeling dejected, Qin Huairu turned to leave but ran into Yan Bugui at Shazhu's door. She shot him a glare before walking away. Yan Bugui, seeing her expression, didn’t take offense; as long as he could eat meat, he wouldn’t mind if she glared at him or even hit him!
"Shazhu, I came to return your lunchbox!" Yan Bugui called out cheerfully as he entered Shazhu's home.
Looking at the empty lunchbox in his hands, Shazhu was furious. "I say, San Da Ye, you really aren’t being fair! I was only trying to talk to you when I got into a fuss with Wang Xiezi, and you took the opportunity to snatch my lunchbox and eat everything inside!"
"I haven’t even had my meal yet; couldn’t you leave me a little?"
Yan Bugui scoffed. "Shazhu, it’s not that San Da Ye is saying this, but even if he brought you all the food from the lunchbox, would you be able to eat a bite? Don’t think San Da Ye doesn’t know why Qin Huairu came here earlier!"
Shazhu was momentarily speechless. "I’m willing to give it to Sister Qin; what business is it of yours?"
Yan Bugui grinned shamelessly. "I really can’t control that. But hey, Shazhu, what about the lunchbox you promised me today?"
Seeing that Yan Bugui still wanted the lunchbox, Shazhu glared and shouted, "What lunchbox? Get lost! Isn’t today’s enough for you?"
Yan Bugui panicked when he saw Shazhu backtrack. "No, Shazhu! You promised me meat and vegetables today! How can you go back on your word?"
Seeing Yan Bugui’s shamelessness made Shazhu laugh in anger. "I did promise to bring you vegetables today, but I clearly said I couldn’t give you today’s food! Since you’ve eaten everything already, what do you expect me to bring you?"
"Hehe, Shazhu, you said it yourself! Even if it’s just some yarn for me to knit a sweater!"
Yan Bugui really knew how to take advantage of a situation! Shazhu pointed towards the door and shouted for him to leave.
When Yan Bugui saw that Shazhu was genuinely angry, he had no choice but to leave. As he walked away, he muttered under his breath about how someone who went back on their word wasn’t a real man!
Fuming, Shazhu picked up his shoe and threw it at him!
Meanwhile, back at home, when Qin Huairu returned empty-handed, Bang Geng looked at her with a grim expression and asked, "Mom, didn’t that fool bring the lunchbox today?"
"No," Qin Huairu shook her head. "Shazhu dropped his lunchbox in the front yard when he got beaten up and then San Da Ye picked it up and ate it!"
"This fool is useless; he can’t even beat a blind man and still thinks he can mess with my mom! Just wait until I teach him a lesson!" Bang Geng fumed.
Regarding the stick, Qin Huairu didn't say much, but Jia Zhang nodded in agreement with what her grandson had said!
That night, four panes of glass belonging to the third master were smashed! By the time the third master and his family rushed out, the person who had broken the glass had already vanished without a trace!
