Shazhu picked up the spatula and scooped up two more servings. "Sister Qin, is this enough?"
Qin Huairu didn’t say anything more. She took the spatula herself and scooped a bit more. "This should be about right. Thank you, Shazhu! The catfish will thank you too!"
Hearing Qin Huairu's gratitude, Shazhu felt like his soul was floating away. But when he looked at the bowl in his hand, he was dumbfounded—how could there only be this little meat left?
Forget it. The old lady is getting on in years; if she eats a bit less, it’s for her own good! Shazhu comforted himself.
He carried the bowl and leaned on his cane as he made his way to the deaf old lady's house. Shazhu felt a bit guilty as he approached her. What was going on?
"Ah, my grandson is here! Is the braised pork ready? Not bad! I can already smell it; my grandson’s cooking is the best!"
As soon as the deaf old lady saw Shazhu coming, she began to praise him. But when she took the bowl and looked inside at the seven pieces of meat, her expression immediately changed. "Grandson, didn’t I give you a pound of meat? You don’t need to save for me; just cook all of it!"
Shazhu scratched his head awkwardly. "Grandma, I did cook all of that pound of meat!"
"Then where is it? How come there are only these few pieces? Did you eat it?" The deaf old lady asked with a frown.
"Grandma, I didn’t eat it; it was just Sister Qin..."
Upon hearing Qin Huairu's name, the deaf old lady immediately understood what had happened. Furious, she grabbed her cane and headed outside!
When she arrived at Qin Huairu's house, she saw Jia Zhangshi and the catfish eating with grease all over their mouths. And looking again, the bowl was already empty!
The deaf old lady raised her cane and swung it at Jia Zhangshi. "How dare you eat my meat! I’ll beat you to death, you shameless one!"
Jia Zhangshi dodged frantically while shouting back, "What’s yours is ours once it enters our Jia family!"
"Well then! If I let you in, it’s yours? I’ll beat you to death!" The deaf old lady was even angrier.
Seeing this situation, Qin Huairu rushed over to stop her. "Please don’t hit my mother-in-law!"
When the deaf old lady saw Qin Huairu, she became even angrier than when she looked at Jia Zhangshi. She swung her cane directly at Qin Huairu. "I’ll beat you to death, you shameless vixen! My grandson made that meat for me, and you managed to take it away from me! How dare you stop me?"

"When I asked him about it, I found out that the rest of the meat was taken by that vixen Qin Huairu! Yi Zhonghai, are you going to do something about this? If not, I’ll go find the street office! Let Director Wang take care of this for me!"
Yi Zhonghai wiped his sweat and shot a glare at Qin Huairu. This Qin Huairu was truly insatiable; if she wanted meat, she could have taken some but should have left at least half for the old lady! Leaving only seven pieces? It was no wonder the old lady was causing such a scene!
Thinking about how important Qin Huairu was for his retirement support, he couldn’t scold her directly. He could only advise the deaf old lady: "Old lady, what Huairu did is indeed excessive. But she has three children and an elderly mother-in-law to take care of; it's not easy for her either. Since they’ve eaten it now, let it be. How about this: tomorrow I’ll buy another pound of meat and have Shazhu cook it for you so you can enjoy a proper meal?"
