Director Wang frowned as he looked at Qin Huairu. "You rented it? Why wasn't I informed?"
Seeing that Sha Zhu was also watching the commotion, Qin Huairu had a sudden idea. "Director, I rented this house from Sha Zhu. I've already given him the rent. If you don't believe me, just ask him!"
Sha Zhu was a bit confused by Qin Huairu's words. When did he rent a house to Sister Qin? And when did she give him money?

Especially Qin Huairu; she shouldn't assume that he hadn't heard about her involvement with He Dashan. Otherwise, she wouldn't have rented He Yushui's room to Liu Jing. She was clearly worried that if another man came in and got involved with her, it would lead to trouble.
Director Wang sneered, "He Yuzhu, is this house yours? What right do you have to rent it out?"
Sha Zhu's face turned red. "Director, this house belongs to our He family. Why can't I rent it out?"
"Ha! He Yuzhu, have you forgotten? This house now belongs to He Yushui, and she has severed ties with you. That means you two no longer have any relationship, so you have no right to rent it out!"
"And our street office has already rented this house to Liu Jing on behalf of He Yushui. I don't care how you and Sha Zhu negotiated; now I'm asking you to vacate this house immediately!" Director Wang said coldly.
"On what grounds? We've already paid the rent! You can't bully us just because the Jia family is left with only orphans and widows! Oh heavens, open your eyes and see! The street office is trying to drive us to death!" Jia Zhangshi cried out in distress upon hearing Director Wang's words.
Director Wang looked at Jia Zhangshi with disgust. "Jia Zhangshi, if you keep making a scene, I'll have someone take you to the street office for some proper education!"
"And you, Bang Geng, if you don't move out, I'll have the police arrest you! You're illegally occupying someone else's property; do you understand that's against the law?"
Hearing that he might be arrested by the police sent a shiver down Bang Geng's spine. He recalled the month he spent being lectured at the police station and immediately scrambled up, clutching his blanket as he ran out.
"I'll move! Just don't let the police catch me!"
With Bang Geng gone, Qin Huairu found herself at a loss again. She had no choice but to move her things back after just moving in yesterday.
Jia Zhangshi was also too afraid of being taken to the street office by Director Wang to say anything further.
"Alright, Liu Jingzhi, you'll be living here from now on. If you need anything, just come find me at the street office!"
"Okay, Director!"
After giving Liu Jing a reminder, Director Wang left.
He genuinely worried about Liu Jing and her daughter being bullied here; he knew that the people in this courtyard were not kind-hearted!
Unfortunately, he had already informed Liu Jing about the situation in this courtyard and had subtly advised her while promising to find her a better place to live—though he didn't know how long that would take!
But since Liu Jing chose to move in despite knowing the circumstances, there was nothing more he could do to stop her!
