Having just been warned by Wang Ren, and with Qin Huairu and the others still unaware of Liu Jing's background, the Jia family fell silent for the time being. The next day, Jia Zhangshi urged Qin Huairu to investigate Liu Jing's details.
Within two hours, Qin Huairu returned.

Upon hearing this, Jia Zhangshi perked up immediately. "Good! I thought she had some big connections. She's just a widow who caused her husband's death! And she dares to take our house? I won’t let this go!"
Jia Zhangshi rushed to Liu Jing's door and started banging on it. "Liu the Widow, get out here!"
Liu Jing's daughter was frightened by the banging; she often faced beatings and scoldings from her grandmother. Hearing the noise, she thought her grandmother had come to hit her again.

Seeing that Liu Jing hadn’t come out yet, Jia Zhangshi banged even harder. After calming her daughter down, Liu Jing opened the door but quickly shut it behind her.
When Jia Zhangshi saw Liu Jing had finally appeared, she shouted arrogantly, "Liu Jing, you widow who caused your husband's death, get out of this courtyard! We don’t welcome you here! This house belongs to my precious grandson!"
As Jia Zhangshi started causing a scene, people from the courtyard began to come out despite the cold weather to watch the commotion. When Liu Jing decided to move in, Wang Ren had briefed her about the courtyard’s situation and specifically mentioned Jia Zhangshi.

Jia Zhangshi lunged at Liu Jing with claws outstretched. Liu Jing swiftly sidestepped and extended her leg just in time; Jia Zhangshi’s hefty body missed its target and fell flat on the ground with a loud thud.
"Ouch! I’m dying! Help! Murder!"
Jia Zhangshi rolled on the ground like a ball, throwing a tantrum.
The onlookers in the courtyard couldn’t help but laugh at Jia Zhangshi’s antics as she rolled around.
At that moment, Qin Huairu rushed over with a look of grievance. "Sister Liu, let’s talk this over calmly. How could you hit my mother-in-law?"
Liu Jing looked at Qin Huairu's feigned look of grievance and felt a wave of nausea. "That fat woman is your mother-in-law? Oh, so you are the widow Qin who brought misfortune to her own husband!"
Upon hearing Liu Jing repeatedly refer to her as the widow who brought misfortune, Qin Huairu's eyes instantly turned red. She didn't even know how she managed to hold back her tears!
