Yi Zhonghai was immediately sent crashing to the ground, feeling a sharp crack in his tailbone followed by an intense wave of pain. He let out a cry and fainted.
Seeing the chaos she had caused, Jia Zhang quickly turned and ran back home, slamming the door shut behind her to hide.
"Old Yi! Old Yi, what happened? Wake up!" Aunt Yi shouted beside Yi Zhonghai.
"I say, Sister Yi, Old Yi has fainted. There's no point in shouting; we should get him to the hospital!" Yan Bugui, unable to watch any longer from the crowd, urged Aunt Yi.
"Oh! Right, the hospital!" Aunt Yi finally remembered they needed to take him to the hospital. However, seeing Yi Zhonghai's condition made her anxious. How could she, a woman, manage to get him there alone? She glanced around at the onlookers, who all wore indifferent expressions and showed no signs of offering help.
Knowing how her neighbors were, Aunt Yi realized it wouldn't be easy to get their assistance. She turned to Yan Bugui: "Teacher Yan, could you ask Jie Cheng and Jie Kuang to take Old Yi to the hospital? I'll give each of them a dollar!"
Upon hearing about the dollar reward, Yan Bugui chuckled: "What are you saying, Sister Yi? We're all part of the same courtyard. It's only right we help Old Yi in his time of need! Jie Cheng, Jie Kuang, did you hear that? Hurry up and take your Uncle Yi to the hospital!"
With money as motivation, Yan Jie Cheng and Yan Jie Kuang quickly transported Yi Zhonghai to the hospital.
After a medical examination, it was determined that Yi Zhonghai had fractured his tailbone and would need to stay in the hospital for observation for a few days.
Once he was settled into a hospital room, Aunt Yi stayed by his side. It wasn't long before Yi Zhonghai regained consciousness.
"Did you call the police? I want that scoundrel Bang Geng and Jia Zhang locked up!" The first thing Yi Zhonghai thought about upon waking was reporting the incident.
Aunt Yi shrank back at his fierce gaze: "I’ve been too busy taking care of you; I haven’t had time to call the police!"
"What are we waiting for then? Go call them now!" Yi Zhonghai urged when he heard they hadn’t reported it yet.
Qin Huairu was worried about Yi Zhonghai calling the police. She had come to the hospital as well and overheard him wanting to report it. Without hesitation, she pushed open the door and entered.
"Uncle Yi, are you feeling better? I came to check on you!"
Yi Zhonghai coldly snorted upon seeing Qin Huairu: "Qin Huairu, take care of your son! He’s come here to rob us! I think he deserves a bullet for this! What are you waiting for? Hurry up and call the police!"
Qin Huairu quickly blocked Aunt Yi: "Aunt Yi, Uncle Yi, I beg you not to report it! Uncle Yi, you’ve said before that Bang Geng is a good kid. He must have learned bad things from that juvenile detention center! Please let him off this time!"
