Qin Huairu grabbed Xu Damao tightly. "Xu Damao, please save Si Geng! He’s your nephew! Can you just watch him get executed?"
"Aren't you the deputy section chief of the steel rolling mill? You must have a way to help, right?"

Yi Zhonghai understood Qin Huairu all too well and remained completely unmoved by her plea.

Yi Zhonghai felt his face flush with anger at Wang Jiefang's words but found himself unable to retort because he had indeed often preached about being magnanimous in the past.
With Wang Jiefang speaking up, others in the courtyard chimed in as well: "That’s right, Elder Yi! You must be magnanimous! So what if Si Geng made you a eunuch? You’re so old now; it doesn’t matter anymore!"
"Come on, Elder Yi! Si Geng has called you grandfather so many times; can you really bear to watch him die? How will you face your disciple Jia Dongxu then?"
Their words pierced through Yi Zhonghai's heart like daggers.
Yi Zhonghai shouted towards his wife, "Old lady, wheel me back inside! It’s too noisy out here!"
To facilitate his recovery from injuries, he had rented a wheelchair from the hospital; otherwise, his wife wouldn’t have been able to manage him at all!
