Things were progressing well, and the streaming platform had garnered a decent viewership. However, there was one matter that left me feeling uncertain.
Fu Sihan had grown accustomed to turning to his uncle whenever he encountered a problem.
"Sheng Yanzhou: What’s the issue?"
"Fu Sihan: During the last broadcast, that daughter of the Ruan family appeared on screen."
He recounted how he had made a snake behave obediently in front of Ruan Fuxi, almost like a trained dog. At the time, they hadn’t managed to cut the feed in time, and many viewers saw it. It sparked quite a stir online, catching the attention of Director Wang. Now he was reaching out to them, wanting to know Ruan Fuxi's identity and hoping to invite her to participate in an adventure survival show.
"Sheng Yanzhou: Since that's the case, just relay the director's thoughts to her. What are you hesitating about? It’s quite simple."
Fu Sihan's expression suggested he found it difficult to articulate his feelings.
After pondering for a moment, Sheng Yanzhou raised an eyebrow. "Ruan Fuxi, is she the one who once drugged your drink? Is that why you want to avoid any contact with her?"
Fu Sihan nodded but quickly added, "However, she hasn’t bothered me for a long time. She didn’t react at all when she saw me at today’s banquet."
"Sheng Yanzhou: If you don’t want any further contact with her, just have someone pass on the message. It’s all within the same circle; it’s easy enough."
This was supposed to be a minor issue, and Fu Sihan nodded in agreement, choosing not to dwell on it further.
Suddenly, Sheng Yanzhou seemed to remember something. He pulled a folder from a stack of documents beside him. "You mentioned Director Wang is planning a variety show; is this it?"
Fu Sihan took the folder from him and glanced at it, surprised. "He contacted my uncle so quickly about wanting to invest?"
But then he recalled that one of the top entertainment companies was under his uncle's management and didn’t find it strange anymore.
"Sheng Yanzhou: Wang is a smart man. What do you think? Should I invest in this variety show? How do you assess its profitability and risks?"
Fu Sihan's expression turned serious as he realized his uncle was testing him. After some contemplation, he replied earnestly:
From the perspective of market demand and audience preferences, this type of variety show has been quite popular in recent years. If we follow Wang's suggestions, we could potentially create a hit that might even become a classic variety show. As long as the viewership is substantial, the return on investment would be very promising. However, since this is an adventure-themed variety show, there are inherent safety risks involved. Taking everything into account, I believe it is worth investing in.
Sheng Yanzhou nodded in appreciation.
"Not bad," he said. "Although there are some imperfections, you’ve provided a good overview."
He indeed had thoughts about investing in this variety show, but he would wait to make a final decision until the guest lineup was confirmed. Sheng Yanzhou was reluctant to invest in a show if it could be ruined by one or a few thoughtless guests.
Recalling that Fu Sihan mentioned Wang was considering inviting Ruan Fuxi as one of the guests, Sheng Yanzhou felt responsible for his investment intentions and asked, "What do you think of Ruan Fuxi after seeing her at the banquet today? If she were to participate in the variety show, what kind of effect do you think she would have?"
Upon hearing this, Fu Sihan's expression became somewhat peculiar.
"I don't know if it's just my imagination," he replied, "but I feel like Ruan Fuxi has changed a lot compared to before. However, she seems to have an interest in gossip and is knowledgeable about fortune-telling."
After saying this, he recounted how Ruan Fuxi spoke to the Xu and Liu families.
Sheng Yanzhou listened with growing interest.
"Alright, I understand now."
He decided to keep an eye on the movements of the Xu and Liu families. If Ruan Fuxi turned out to be accurate in her predictions, it would indicate that she truly had some skills.
Having someone with such abilities on a variety show would surely generate a lot of buzz. He would seriously consider whether to invest in this project.
