In surprise, she refused. With a smile on her face, she appeared approachable, but her refusal was quite evident.
"Secretary Lin, Ruan Fuxi hasn't violated any of the company's policies, nor has she caused any loss to the company. According to our agreement, she cannot be dismissed," Ruan Fuxi stated firmly. "Even if Lin Xueer is a secretary, she can't arbitrarily dismiss an intern unless it's at the request of President Ruan."
Lin Xueer was dissatisfied; she had no desire to continue seeing Ruan Fuxi at the company. The thought of it made her feel blocked and frustrated, especially recalling Ruan Huai's attitude towards her in the cafeteria at noon. It left her feeling quite displeased.
Furrowing her brows, Lin Xueer asked, "What is the relationship between Ruan Fuxi and President Ruan?" The Ruan family was known for its confidentiality, and as ordinary employees, all they knew was that the president had a younger brother and sister. They were completely unaware of their names or ages.
In her mind, she compared the faces of Ruan Huai and Ruan Fuxi but couldn't find a single point of resemblance. If they were siblings, there should be at least some similarities; it was impossible for them to look completely different.
Thus, Lin Xueer dismissed that assumption. She frowned in dissatisfaction and said, "It's just an intern, right? We can just fire her and hire another one."
Internally, she scoffed at the thought: Did you really wish for there to be no beautiful women at the company? After all this effort to bring in an attractive intern sister, you wouldn't want to let her go so easily.
Thinking this way, she felt it necessary to subtly remind the incoming intern sister not to let Secretary Lin push her out. With these thoughts swirling in her mind, she put on a somewhat troubled expression.
Secretary Lin, I can’t do anything about it; I have to follow the procedures set by the company. Unless the intern leaves on her own, or if President Ruan requests her dismissal, or if she violates the agreement, neither I nor the administration can dismiss an intern without cause.
Hearing this response, Lin Xueer, in order to maintain her usual image, chose not to continue the conversation and turned to leave. However, her back seemed to carry a hint of resentment.
Damn it, her strategy was going so well. She had finally managed to push out the female employee who had previously been vying for a promotion, and now here came another attractive intern. What’s worse, this one didn’t seem intimidated at all by her position as the president's secretary.
Lin Xueer had recently crossed over from another world where she was just an ordinary worker. Upon discovering that she had entered a novel, she felt a surge of excitement. Tired of a life of hard work, she longed for a life of ease. After realizing how young and handsome President Si was, she set her sights on him.
She planned to leverage her position as a secretary to get close to him and use her charm to win over Ruan Huai, aiming to marry into wealth. She knew she wasn’t much different from those other women seeking promotions; she just knew how to disguise herself better.
After successfully pushing out her competitors, she remained as the president's secretary thanks to her superior ability to blend in. However, she hadn’t anticipated that Ruan Huai would be so difficult to deal with. Despite her good looks, he showed no interest in her at all.
This beautiful woman was being treated like a workhorse, with no reduction in her workload. To earn his attention, she could only work harder. Yet after seeing her efforts, Ruan Huai only felt that she could do even better and increased her workload! Although her salary doubled, what she truly wanted was to marry into the Ruan family and stop working altogether!
Sometimes while working overtime, Lin Xueer couldn’t help but grit her teeth: Capitalists are all the same!
