Her attitude only fueled Taipeng's fury further, more infuriating than any confrontation could have been. He clutched his chest in pain, struggling to catch his breath.
Li Shi, who usually kept her head down in front of him, was also deeply affected. Ignoring his condition, her eyes burned with resentment as they bore into Song Feiwan. "You did this on purpose," she asserted with conviction. "Even coming to find trouble in Shuyou's courtyard was all part of your scheme. Song Feiwan, how can there be such a sinister and malicious woman like you in this world?"
"In terms of being sinister and malicious, how could I ever compare to you two?" Song Feiwan smiled on the surface, but the mirth did not reach her eyes at all. "You have tormented me for over a decade, allowing Song Shuyou to snatch away what was rightfully mine, turning me into an unwanted old maid.
