“Dad, in this lifetime, I have decided on Mr. Jiang,” Liu Pingping said stubbornly.
Liu Xifang sighed slightly and did not say anything further.
In this world, perhaps the hardest thing to stop is a reckless love. Liu Xifang could only hope that time would allow her daughter to calm down.
After the Liu family left, Jiang Chen began to refine the Blood Corpse into a formation spirit.
He worked late into the night, and it was only after finishing that he realized having the Blood Corpse as a formation spirit significantly enhanced the safety of Quiet Villa.
Despite going to bed late, Jiang Chen still woke up early the next day. He needed to rush back to Nangang City to handle some matters regarding Huafei Villa and the company. Jiang Chen realized that with his cultivation base now moved to Shanghai, he would likely have very few reasons to return to Nangang in the future. After all, aside from Dongsheng Group and Huafei Villa, there was not much else tying him there.
Lin Yin accompanied Jiang Chen back to take care of these matters. Lin Yin would be staying long-term in Shanghai and needed to inform her master as well.
The high-speed train was quick, and they arrived in Nangang in just over two hours. The two took a taxi straight to Dongsheng Group. Zhu Yong, Ma Wenlai, and Zhou Dafeng, among other company leaders, were excited to see Chairman Jiang Chen and welcomed him warmly.
As it was nearing noon, Jiang Chen suggested they eat in a private room at the company cafeteria while discussing business.
“Uncles, the development of Dongsheng Group has been so successful thanks to your hard work. Now that my focus is no longer on business and I don’t have time to manage the company, I want to transfer Dongsheng Company to you. That’s why I’m here today,” Jiang Chen began after some pleasantries in the private room.
“Director Jiang, that’s not appropriate. You are the chairman; it’s fine if you don’t have time to manage things—we will take care of it for you. There’s no need for a transfer,” Zhu Yong quickly replied.
Ma Wenlai added, “Yes, Director Jiang, there’s no need for you to transfer it to us; you don’t need to spend your energy on the company.”
Zhou Dafeng chimed in as well, “Exactly, Director Jiang; with us here, you don’t need to come into the office at all, let alone transfer it.”
Jiang Chen understood that their words were sincere. Although he wasn’t managing Dongsheng Group at present, its success was still tied to his position as chairman. If ownership changed hands, suppliers and customers might not cooperate as well.
Zhu Yong, Ma Wenlai, and Zhou Dafeng understood this point clearly and were thus reluctant to accept the transfer. It wasn’t that they didn’t want to be in charge; they simply knew they couldn’t handle such a responsibility.
“In that case, I’ll leave all company matters in your capable hands!” Jiang Chen said without putting on any airs.
After leaving the company, Lin Yin went to an orphanage while Jiang Chen headed alone to his alma mater, Nangang High School. He went directly to find Teacher Gong, who was now the head of the administrative office.
Upon arriving at the office, Jiang Chen knocked on the door and heard a voice say “Come in.” He pushed open the door and found only Teacher Gong inside.
“Teacher Gong,” Jiang Chen greeted with a smile.
“Jiang Chen! What brings you here?” Teacher Gong was taken aback upon seeing him.
Jiang Chen closed the door behind him casually. “Teacher Gong, I’m moving to Shanghai from now on; I’d like you to have Huafei Villa!”
“That’s too much! How can I accept something so grand?” Teacher Gong was startled. Indeed, while Huafei Villa might not mean much to Jiang Chen, it was far beyond what someone like Teacher Gong could afford.
“Teacher Gong, I won’t be living there anymore. Instead of letting it sit empty, I’d rather give it to you!” Jiang Chen insisted.
