“Yang Jin!” Sun Wukong and Lin Qiye exclaimed in unison, realizing they had fallen into the trap set by the Demon Face King.
While they were engaged in battle, the Demon Face King had taken advantage of the situation and kidnapped Yang Jin.
“Let him go!” Sun Wukong and Lin Qiye charged toward the Demon Face King simultaneously, but the Demon Face King was faster, vanishing into the night with Yang Jin in tow.
“Damn it!” Sun Wukong slammed his fist into the ground, frustrated that he had been outsmarted by the Demon Face King.
Lin Qiye knelt on the ground, despondent, his eyes vacant and filled with guilt.
Blinded by rage, he had failed to see the Demon Face King's scheme, resulting in his brother's abduction.
“It’s all your fault! If it weren't for you, Yang Jin wouldn't have been taken!” Lin Qiye lifted his head and glared angrily at Sun Wukong.
Sun Wukong gritted his teeth but remained silent. He knew he bore some responsibility, yet his primary concern was for Yang Jin's safety.
At that moment, several black SUVs roared into the alley and came to a halt at the entrance.
The doors swung open, and a group of individuals clad in black uniforms rushed out, surrounding Sun Wukong and Lin Qiye with an array of weapons.
“Night Watchman?” Sun Wukong recognized their identity.
At the forefront stood a tall man with short hair, a stern expression, and sharp eyes.
He was none other than Zhao Kongcheng, the captain of Team 136.
"Sun Wukong, Lin Qiye, you are suspected of vandalizing public property and disturbing social order. Please come with us," Zhao Kongcheng said coldly.
"This isn't the time for that! Yang Jin has been taken by the Demon Face King!" Sun Wukong exclaimed anxiously.
"Demon Face King?" Zhao Kongcheng frowned. "We have already received reports and are actively pursuing him. You need to come back with us for questioning."
"No way! I have to save Yang Jin!" Lin Qiye struggled to stand up, his eyes red and filled with determination.
Hong Ying stepped out from behind Zhao Kongcheng and approached Lin Qiye, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder.
"Calm down, Lin Qiye. We understand your concern for your brother, but right now you need to cooperate with us so we can find the Demon Face King more quickly."
Taking a deep breath, Lin Qiye tried to steady himself.
"Fine, I'll go with you," he finally agreed.
Sun Wukong nodded as well, knowing that this was not the time for rash decisions.
Both Sun Wukong and Lin Qiye followed the Night Watchman to the car and left the damaged alley behind.
The class monitor and the other students were gradually taken away by the police for questioning.
As night deepened, Cangnan City was shrouded in silence.
But behind this tranquility, a greater crisis was brewing...
Lin Qiye sat in the car, his hands tightly clasped together, his nails digging deeply into his flesh.
He forced himself to calm down, but his heart was filled with worry and guilt.
He had no idea how Yang Jin was doing; he could only hope that Yang Jin was safe.
He lifted his head and gazed out at the pitch-black night sky, his eyes filled with determination.
He would definitely rescue Yang Jin, no matter the cost.
Sun Wukong and Lin Qiye were brought to the Night Watch Headquarters, the cold light illuminating the interrogation room. Across from them sat Zhao Kongcheng and Hong Ying, their expressions serious.
"Name," Zhao Kongcheng said, flipping through the documents in his hand, his sharp gaze fixed on Sun Wukong.
"Sun Wukong," Sun Wukong replied casually, arms crossed over his chest.
"Age."
"Eighteen." Sun Wukong scratched his head, feigning an innocent expression.
"Sun Wukong, according to our investigation, you have concealed your true identity. Who exactly are you?"
"I'm just an ordinary high school student, Captain. I have no idea what you mean by 'true identity.'"
"Tell me, why did the Demon Face King abduct Yang Jin?"
Lin Qiye clenched his fists, his nails nearly digging into his flesh as his gaze fixed on Sun Wukong.
"I don't know! All I know is that I have to rescue him!" He suddenly stood up, the chair scraping loudly against the floor.
Zhao Kongcheng raised a hand to signal him to sit down, a hint of amusement playing at the corners of his mouth.
Zhao Kongcheng looked up, his sharp gaze sweeping across Sun Wukong's face. "Are you really just a high school student?"
Sun Wukong shrugged. "Absolutely." He crossed his legs and spoke, sneaking a glance at Lin Qiye beside him, who was looking at him with evident concern.
Zhao Kongcheng slammed a file down on the table with a loud thud. "Stop playing dumb! We already have some clues; you are definitely not an ordinary person! The power you've displayed far exceeds that of an average human, and even..." Zhao Kongcheng paused, his tone growing more serious. "It may even be related to those divine agents."
"Regarding the source of your power..." Zhao Kongcheng hesitated, his gaze landing on the Ghost-faced Man in Sun Wukong's hand. "How do you explain this?"
"Inherited."
Sun Wukong replied nonchalantly, tapping lightly on the Ghost-faced Man with his fingers, producing a crisp sound.
The sound of metal clashing echoed starkly in the silent interrogation room.
Zhao Kongcheng and Hong Ying exchanged a glance, clearly skeptical of Sun Wukong's words.
Sun Wukong scratched his head and forced a casual smile. "Captain, your imagination is running wild. I just have a bit of strength; how does that tie me to a divine agent?" He pretended to be unconcerned while secretly observing Zhao Kongcheng's reaction.
Hong Ying couldn't help but roll her eyes; this monkey was truly a master at playing dumb.
Zhao Kongcheng ignored Sun Wukong's banter and pressed on, "The Demon Face King is related to an Ancient Mysterious Organization."
Sun Wukong squinted slightly, feigning deep thought. "An ancient organization? All I know is that it's very powerful, extremely powerful." He paused before adding, "Powerful enough that I have to take it seriously."
Zhao Kongcheng disregarded Sun Wukong's act and continued, "This organization has been dedicated to awakening dormant mysterious powers, and the Demon Face King is likely one of their agents."
He fixed his intense gaze on Sun Wukong. "How much do you know about this organization?"
Sun Wukong scratched his ear and feigned an effort to remember. "Ancient Organization? I, Old Sun hasn't heard of it. But..."
He deliberately lowered his voice, speaking mysteriously. "I've heard some rumors; they say this organization is incredibly secretive and possesses great power, even capable of controlling some mysterious creatures." He paused again, lowering his voice further. "They say they are searching for some special sacrifices to awaken the dormant powers..."
Zhao Kongcheng and Hong Ying exchanged shocked glances, both realizing the unsettling truth pointed to by Sun Wukong's vague information.
They hadn't expected Sun Wukong to know so much. Zhao Kongcheng stood up and walked in front of Sun Wukong, looking down at him from above. "Who exactly are you?"
