But just as they turned to flee, the wings of the Dark Wing suddenly flapped, unleashing a tremendous storm that swept them into the air. Everything before Evan blurred, and he could barely stand as the entire hall trembled violently, beginning to collapse. Bookshelves toppled around them, and deep cracks split open in the floor. Evan desperately clung to a nearby bookshelf, trying to steady himself, but his strength felt insignificant against the invisible storm.
"Run!" Elf shouted with all its might, pulling Evan along as they raced toward the exit. "We have to find a way out!"
As they sprinted toward the hall's exit, those dark wings suddenly lunged at them with incredible speed. Evan felt a powerful gust of wind hit him head-on, nearly toppling them over. The Dark Wing seemed intent on not letting them escape; a voice grew louder, echoing like the low growl of a great beast in their ears.
"We can't run any longer!" Evan yelled. "It will catch up to us!"
Elf's eyes sparkled with determination. "There’s a way!" It abruptly stopped and turned to Evan. "Do you remember the symbol on the crystal ball? We need to get back to it!"
Evan paused for a moment. "The crystal ball? You mean the one that seals the 'Dark Wing'?"
Elf nodded vigorously. "Exactly! That’s the only place that can control the 'Dark Wing.' We have to destroy it!"
They had no time to think further and quickly turned toward where the crystal ball was located. Along the way, the enormous wings of the Dark Wing nearly obscured their vision; each flap felt like it could tear everything apart. Evan sensed every nerve in his body tightening, but they had no other choice.
Finally, they reached the side of the crystal ball. Evan and Elf reached out simultaneously to touch it, but just as their hands were about to make contact, the atmosphere in the hall suddenly froze.
The deep blue gem on the crystal ball emitted a blinding light, and an invisible force surged forth, instantly engulfing Evan and Elf. Everything before their eyes began to twist; the world around them became a blur as they felt themselves being pulled into a vast abyss.
"What is happening?" Evan's voice trembled. "Are we being sucked into the crystal ball?"
Elf held tightly onto Evan's hand, its voice barely audible. "Be careful! This isn’t just a crystal ball; it’s the heart of the 'Dark Wing.' If we can’t find a way to break its hold, the 'Dark Wing' will fully awaken!"
At that moment, the light within the crystal ball erupted suddenly, and a powerful force pulled them completely into an unknown abyss. The dark essence swiftly engulfed them, and Evan and Elf's vision became utterly blurred, as if surrounded by an invisible black mist. Silence enveloped them entirely. Evan could not discern where he was; it felt as though he was floating in an empty void, everything around him shrouded in eternal darkness, devoid of life.
“Elf?” Evan's voice was low and urgent as he tried to locate his companion in the darkness. “Are you still there?”
“Yes.” Elf's voice came from the other end of the darkness, sounding equally strained. “We must stay calm and not be deceived by this darkness. The crystal ball has trapped us in an alternate dimension; we can only return to reality by finding the exit.”
Evan took a deep breath, striving to focus his mind. “We need to find a way out quickly. Once ‘Dark Wings’ awakens, everything here will spiral out of control.”
Suddenly, a low rumbling sound echoed ahead, as if something was stealthily approaching. Evan immediately became alert, turning around to discern the source of the noise. “Elf, did you hear that? What is that sound?”
Elf's ears perked up slightly as it whispered, “It’s it—‘Dark Wings.’” Its tone grew more tense. “It has found us!”
