The Trial of the Giant 0

The giant waved a finger, and a stone slab on the ground slowly rose, revealing a narrow passage leading underground. The passage was deep and dark, filled with a musty odor. The giant looked down at them, his voice booming like thunder: "Through this passage, traverse this maze, and find the temple deep within. If you can locate the temple and return successfully without any assistance, I will deem you worthy of the Giant's Blood." 0

"We are ready," Elf said firmly. "Please begin." 0

The giant nodded and vanished from sight. Aiden and Elf exchanged glances, then cautiously stepped into the dim passage. 0

The air inside the passage grew increasingly oppressive, with moss on the walls emitting a faint glow. After a short while, they entered a vast underground maze. The stone walls around them were etched with intricate patterns and symbols, clearly marking the civilization of the Giant Race. 0

"This is the maze?" Aiden murmured. "It's more complex than I imagined." 0

Elf carefully observed their surroundings. "These patterns seem to be guidance from the Giant Race; perhaps they can tell us which way to go. We must be cautious; every step counts." 0

They proceeded along the stone paths of the maze, encountering forks in the road or sealed doors at every turn. Aiden's heart raced each time, fearful of making a wrong move. The air in the maze felt heavier, as if every stone wall was pressing down on their breaths. 0

After what felt like an eternity of wandering, they finally reached the heart of the maze. Before them stood an ancient temple, with a massive statue in front of it. The statue's eyes were set with two glowing gems that radiated a mysterious light. 0

"This is the temple," Aiden sighed in relief, excitement flickering in his eyes. "We made it." 0

But just as they prepared to approach the temple, the surrounding stone walls began to tremble. From the entrance of the maze came the giant's deep voice: "You have passed my trial, but whether you can truly take the Giant's Blood depends on your resolve." 0

The stone walls started to crumble slowly, massive stones crashing down from above, nearly sealing off the entire temple. Aiden and Elf dashed forward, narrowly avoiding falling debris. Dust and gravel filled the air; Aiden's heart raced furiously as he realized that this was not merely a simple trial but an ultimate judgment from the Giant Race on whether outsiders were worthy of trust. 0

"Hurry! We need to get inside!" Elf shouted, grabbing Aiden's hand as they sprinted toward the temple's entrance. The two enormous gems at the door shimmered ominously, seemingly warning any creature that dared to approach. 0

"These gems... could they be some kind of mechanism for opening doors?" Aiven thought as he ran. 0

The Elf did not respond; she had already drawn her sword, ready to face any sudden danger. Her movements were swift and precise, each swing of her blade cutting through the air with a whoosh, as if cleaving through the heavy obstacles ahead. 0

Eventually, they reached the great door, which slowly creaked open. The two of them leaped forward and rushed inside. 0

As the door closed behind them, the vibrations from outside seemed to vanish instantly. The air within the temple was still and ancient, thick dust covering the stone floor. The walls were adorned with colorful gems that reflected a faint, ethereal light. In the center of the temple stood a tall altar, upon which floated a blue crystal orb, emanating a mysterious glow. 0

"We... made it," Aiven breathed a sigh of relief, though his voice still held a hint of doubt. "Is this where the Giant's Blood is located?" 0

The Elf's gaze was fixed on the crystal orb atop the altar, her expression slightly grave. "Not entirely. That orb may be a medium connecting to the giant's bloodline. We must be cautious." 0

At that moment, a beam of light suddenly flared up in the distance, and the entire temple began to tremble. Aiven spun around sharply and saw a massive figure emerging from a crack in the stone wall beside the altar. It was another giant, towering even higher than the previous one, radiating an aura that was both formidable and intimidating. 0
