The two of them kissed for a long time, and Zheng Mengni felt like her lips were about to swell from Wei Jingxi's relentless affection. He was both sucking and biting, without any rhythm. 0

Wei Jingxi seemed to believe that kissing was a way to express love; the more forceful and painful it was, the deeper the love. Zheng Mengni couldn't handle it anymore, quickly using the excuse of needing to do her homework to grab her laptop and move to the other side of the table. 0

Initially, she had her back to Wei Jingxi, but he insisted she sit facing him. He just wanted to look at her, absolutely not making a sound. Zheng Mengni readily agreed and started to move her chair. 0

Halfway through moving the chair, Wei Jingxi jumped off the bed and told her not to move. 0

"What’s wrong?" Zheng Mengni asked. 0

"Just put it down; you don’t need to do any heavy lifting with me around," Wei Jingxi said as he pressed her hand down and placed the chair on the ground. 0

Zheng Mengni blinked and hesitated, silently pulling her hand back. She thought these things would take time for him to learn, but unexpectedly, Wei Jingxi was quite perceptive, which was different from the spoiled Young Master she had heard about. 0

If they were really going to get married, perhaps she could guide him in learning how to do laundry since undergarments needed hand washing, and she didn’t want anyone else touching them. 0

Zheng Mengni watched as Wei Jingxi moved the chair back to its original position before circling around to place it across from her. 0

"I won’t take advantage of you; it should be moved from where it was and as far as it needs to go," he said. 0

Zheng Mengni exclaimed, "You’re so hardworking! Thank you!" 0

Wei Jingxi replied, "You’re so cheesy." 0

But he liked it very much. 0

Lost in thought, his cheek was suddenly kissed. Turning her head, Zheng Mengni smiled brightly at him. "This is your tip for working hard." 0

Wei Jingxi looked at her with his head tilted slightly. "I want more." 0

"Stop right there; you’ll only get more if you behave well. No advance payments! If you distract me from my homework, I’ll have to deduct from your future rewards." 0

"Got it, got it." 0

Wei Jingxi obediently propped his head up on his hands against the bed and stared at Zheng Mengni in a daze. 0

How could someone be so beautiful? Even the light shining on Zheng Mengni seemed different; it was softer, more beautiful, and more dazzling than any other light. 0

Wei Jingxi didn’t even blink, slowing his breathing for fear that even a small movement might disturb her. 0

Wei Jingxi suddenly felt a pang of jealousy as he watched Zheng Mengni engrossed in a book. What was so special about that book that it deserved to be touched by his wife’s fingers, to be gazed at with such affection? He stared at Zheng Mengni, but she remained focused on the book. 0

It was infuriating. 0

When Zheng Mengni finally set the book down, Wei Jingxi felt a surge of joy. Was she done studying? Could he finally go over and hold her? 0

Half an hour felt longer than his entire life. 0

But his excitement was premature. Zheng Mengni picked up her phone instead, her delicate fingers deftly tapping away on the screen. She was texting, and it seemed like she had been at it for a while. 0

Wei Jingxi furrowed his brows and called out to her, “Zheng Mengni!” 0

“Ah! What’s wrong?” she replied, startled by his loud voice. She nearly dropped her phone. 0

“Are you distracted while studying? Are you deceiving me or just fooling yourself? Can you really focus on two things at once?” 0

He spoke with authority, forgetting that he was a perennial underachiever himself, standing there lecturing her about diligence and hard work. 0

Zheng Mengni looked confused. “I’m just replying to messages. Why are you shouting? Doesn’t your throat hurt?” 0

“Stop pretending to care about me! You told me not to disturb you while you’re doing your homework, but here you are, writing and sneaking in some phone time.” 0

“Sneaking?” Zheng Mengni frowned disapprovingly at the word, as if it didn’t apply to her. After all, she wasn’t hiding her phone under the table; how could that be sneaking? 0

She had a point, and Wei Jingxi felt disgruntled as he jumped off the bed and strode over to her. He approached with an air of authority but then squatted down right in front of her, suddenly half her height. 0

Looking up at her with a furrowed brow, he asked, “So who were you messaging just now?” 0

Zheng Mengni understood then; after all that fuss, this was what he really wanted to know. 0

“See?” 0
