"Xiao Ni, don't be afraid."
Wei Jingxi pushed aside his distractions, focusing solely on reaching Zheng Mengni in Hehua Town as quickly as possible. He kept praying for faster speed, completely unaware that a car was closely tailing him.
Suddenly, a thunderclap crashed down from the sky, echoing loudly in his ears. Behind him, a sharp, piercing horn followed closely, and a blinding beam of light shot toward him. Wei Jingxi turned to glance at the rearview mirror but could barely make out anything through the blur.
He couldn't understand why the driver behind him had their high beams on so close; it made his head spin. The honking grew incessant and increasingly urgent.
Annoyed, Wei Jingxi slammed down on the accelerator, speeding away. In the next moment, a deafening crash accompanied by another thunderclap struck.
Forced to brake suddenly, he looked up to see a deep black sedan slicing through the rain and crashing into him. The inexplicable rear-end collision ignited Wei Jingxi's fury. Why did everyone feel the need to bother and torment him?
He pushed open the door and stepped out into the torrential rain, pounding on the driver's window. "Get out!"
The occupant rolled down the window, revealing a square-jawed face devoid of any expression.
Wei Jingxi's face darkened. "Are you just asking for trouble?"
The man remained silent, not even giving Wei Jingxi a glance.
"Are you deaf? Get out!" Wei Jingxi twisted the door handle vigorously but it wouldn't budge. Frustrated, he kicked the car door.
The collision had occurred at an intersection, and with the heavy rain, traffic was completely jammed behind them. People honked incessantly, but as those closer caught sight of the license plate number, their arrogance evaporated in an instant.
Word spread quickly; soon no one dared to honk anymore.
The driver still said nothing but turned to glance at the back seat before finally looking at Wei Jingxi. "Guan Xian, please get in."
I don't know you! Wei Jingxi's pupils constricted as his cold gaze locked onto the rear window.
The glass film obscured everything.
Guan Xian said that if Wei Jingxi was unwilling to get in the car, he would supervise him as he walked away.
Wei Jingxi slammed his fist against the rear window. "You're the mastermind, aren't you? You hit my car and now you won't even show your face?"
Inside the car, Guan Su Lin shifted into a more relaxed position, casually lowering the window halfway to reveal his red lips and white teeth, captivating everyone around.
Nephew, what are you making a fuss about?
Perhaps it was the heavy rain, or perhaps it was the anger burning fiercely within Wei Jingxi's chest. He barely heard what was said next, his pupils widening in shock. "What do you mean, you and I?"
"What? Didn't your father mention me?"
Xiao Wei, I’m your Uncle Grandfather.
The warmth in Guan Su Lin's eyes reflected Wei Jingxi's stunned expression. Guan Su Lin let out a yawn, revealing a smile that was both intriguing and enigmatic.
Wei Jingxi snapped back to reality and cursed loudly, "Go to hell! Is your brain flooded or something?!"
Guan Su Lin's expression darkened slightly, yet his smile remained intact, as if he didn't want to argue with someone younger.
"Get in the car."
(Suddenly, an intriguing thought crossed my mind: what if Xiao Wei's fiancée one day transformed into his great-uncle?)
