After waiting for a long time without hearing Guan Su Lin speak, Zheng Mengni put down what she was holding and walked up to him.
She quietly said, "If you know the truth, please tell me. This has been troubling me for a long time, and I have tried various means without any results."
Zheng Mengni lied. Three days ago, Ye Siqian, who was imprisoned in an apartment, could no longer bear the pressure and threats and revealed the truth he knew to her.
Asking Guan Su Lin was partly to see what he was up to and partly to compare the two answers to draw the most accurate conclusion.
After a moment of silence, Guan Su Lin replied, "When you were hospitalized, Xiao Wei wanted to visit you but was stopped and never got in. At that time, it was Tan Yan who used his influence to seal off the hospital ward, prohibiting anyone from visiting. So, can you?"
Zheng Mengni silently clenched her fingers, maintaining a calm and composed expression.
Guan Su Lin's demeanor was peaceful and serene: "The hospital is filled with Tan Yan's people; there are no outsiders. It seems the person who could harm your sister has been narrowed down."
Slowly raising her gaze, Zheng Mengni's expression gradually solidified: "Alright, I understand. Thank you for telling me this."
In a low voice, Guan Su Lin said, "Zheng Zheng, I have been conflicted about whether to tell you this because becoming obsessed with certain matters is not good. But seeing your close relationship with Tan Yan, I am genuinely worried. He is not a good person; being close to him will not benefit you."
Ignoring his attempts to sow discord, Zheng Mengni softly countered, "And what about you? Are you a good person?"
Guan Su Lin paused slightly before revealing a composed smile: "That depends on the person. In your case, I am. As for others, that's another matter."
Zheng Mengni smiled as she stepped closer, now only a step away from him. Her eyes sparkled with innocent trust and purity.
Yet the clearer the eyes, the more they fear direct contact. Reflected within them was a face that even Guan Su Lin found unfamiliar; he did not dare to confront it.
With a hint of intrigue, Zheng Mengni asked, "So being close to you—does it benefit me? Don’t lie; I want to hear the most honest answer from your own lips."
Guan Su Lin gazed at her with an unchanging expression as he stood straight.
"There is," he said. "Whatever you ask of me that I can do, I will not refuse."
Zheng Mengni remained very calm and smiled gently: "But I don’t know what you can do and what you cannot."
With great indulgence, Guan Su Lin replied: "For instance, if it’s something you wish to achieve, even if I cannot do it, I will still say that I can."
Before leaving, he adjusted Zheng Mengni's collar; the soft light above illuminated his handsome and gentle face.
Moving to the window, Zheng Mengni opened the message sent by Ye Siqian. This was the only message he had sent her in all these days.
Zheng Mengni instructed the servants to sever all ties between Ye Siqian and the outside world, confiscating all her electronic devices. The only purpose of the phone was for Ye Siqian to convey the truth to Zheng Mengni once she had come to terms with it. There would be only one chance; if Ye Siqian dared to play tricks, she would never see that phone again. In any case, Zheng Mengni did not seem particularly eager to know the truth.
Ye Siqian's message indicated that Ye Bing had offended Tan Yan at some point, and Tan Yan was determined to eliminate him. The explosion at the club was the second incident; Tan Yan was resolute in wanting Ye Bing dead. Therefore, combining this with what Guan Su Lin had said, it seemed Tan Yan was monitoring the hospital to see if Ye Bing was truly dead.
Tan Yan's words echoed in her mind:

"If your surname is Zheng, I will stay by your side."
"If your surname is not Zheng, I will help you hide all your secrets."
The neon lights outside cast vibrant hues, and Zheng Mengni closed her eyes, her cold and expressionless face reflected in the glass. Tan Yan. She silently repeated his name in her heart.
At two in the morning, when she should have been enjoying beauty sleep, Zheng Mengni unexpectedly got out of bed. She realized that she had no opportunity to meet Tan Yan except when everyone else was asleep. Guan Su Lin would not provoke her relationship with Tan Yan without reason, even if what he said was true. Tan Yan stood with the main house, which was also Guan Su Lin's fierce rival.
Guan Su Lin was ambitious and certainly wanted a share of the inheritance. He brought her to the country not just to pretend to be his girlfriend and please Guan Li. The larger motive likely involved Tan Yan. The closer she appeared to be with Tan Yan, the greater her leverage as a hostage would become.
If Guan Su Lin was determined to eradicate the main house, she would undoubtedly be the first one pushed out into the open.
