Ye Bing raised an eyebrow: "What sister?"
Asen wore an expression that clearly said "Don't pretend; we all know," and meaningfully replied, "Your girlfriend, of course."
Ye Bing's face remained expressionless: "I haven't pursued her yet, so don't call her that."
Asen looked disappointed: "When will I be able to hold my little nephew then?"
As he said this, he felt an unmistakable chill in the air, as if the temperature had suddenly dropped.
Ye Bing smiled: "You shouldn't mention that in front of me, especially not in front of her. Understand?"
Asen nodded blankly; he understood—young people can be shy.
After saying this, Ye Bing unlocked his phone with his face and returned his gaze to the news on the screen. The headline read: "The youngest son of the prestigious Guan family will be engaged in three days; reliable sources say the fiancée is a young Chinese woman."
Three days later, Guan Li placed great importance on this engagement banquet. Though it was labeled as an engagement, the grand ceremony was almost as lavish as a formal wedding.
Zheng Mengni's gown was personally selected by Guan Su Lin. The strapless dress was pure white, adorned with sparkling diamonds and pearls scattered across the hem. The fabric shimmered in a soft golden hue, exuding elegance and grace. A professional makeup artist designed her look to be light and airy, enhancing her fair skin and delicate features, with her autumn-like eyes sparkling beautifully.
Zheng Mengni stood alone in front of the mirror, carefully inspecting herself to ensure there wasn't a single flaw from head to toe. Even when acting, she wanted to present herself in the most perfect manner before everyone.

Her phone on the table rang, and as she fiddled with her earrings, she walked over to check. It was Wei Jingxi.
Zheng Mengni didn't reach for it. Although Guan Su Lin had been rather high-profile these past few days, the news shouldn't have spread to other countries.
Taking a moment to compose herself, she answered the call in a soft voice, "What's up?"
There was a long silence on the other end, so quiet that Zheng Mengni thought he had hung up.
Glancing down at the time, she noticed the seconds ticking away.
Losing patience, she gently urged, "If you have something to say, just go ahead."
Finally, Wei Jingxi spoke, his tone laced with a hint of obvious grievance. "You seem busy."
Zheng Mengni didn't deny it. "Yes, so if it's not particularly important, you can call me back later."
Wei Jingxi stumbled over his words. "You're getting engaged; how can that not be busy? Xiao Ni, am I interrupting you? I'm sorry! After all, I've never been engaged before and have no idea about the process. I didn’t know you'd be busy at this time."
Zheng Mengni smiled sweetly. "It's fine; you'll experience it sooner or later."

Wei Jingxi blushed and retorted, "I'm just worried about you committing a crime! Do you really want to go to jail for me?"
Zheng Mengni replied straightforwardly, "No."
Wei Jingxi sounded aggrieved. "You're being unreasonable; you won't even lie to make me happy anymore."
With her eyes sparkling with mischief, Zheng Mengni said, "Getting engaged doesn't mean getting married; you must understand that."
Her implication hit Wei Jingxi hard. After all, he had just canceled his engagement with her.

Wei Jingxi's heart surged with excitement, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of joy. I understand! I truly understand now. Wei Jingxi was overjoyed; just moments ago, he had been crying out in despair under the covers, but now he couldn't stop smiling.

Just as Zheng Mengni was about to say something, a sound came from the doorway. She lowered her voice, saying they would talk later, and hung up the phone, placing it on the table.
