An invisible pressure suddenly descended, causing the wolf pack to react as if they had encountered something terrifying. Their tails tucked between their hind legs, their previously fierce eyes now filled with panic.
“Why aren’t you dispersing?” Jiang Chen suddenly spoke up, his voice low and commanding.
Startled, the wolves scattered in all directions, seeking refuge in the bushes, trembling in fear.
“You two, aren’t you leaving?” Jiang Chen turned to glance at Liu Zhi and Liang Hong, speaking in a calm tone.
Liu Zhi and Liang Hong thought they were dreaming. After rubbing their eyes vigorously, they confirmed that everything was real—the wolf pack had indeed retreated on its own.
Regaining their senses, the two quickly caught up with Jiang Chen and walked alongside him toward the opposite side.
The onlookers were dumbfounded by how Jiang Chen’s mere shout had scared off the wolves. Even the foreign old man stared in disbelief, struggling to comprehend what he had just witnessed.
“This doesn’t make sense. These Hungry Wolves have been starving for three days; how could they be afraid of humans?” The old man looked puzzled.
Other players snapped back to reality, feeling invigorated. They didn’t think Jiang Chen possessed any special abilities; instead, they concluded that these Hungry Wolves were all bark and no bite—clearly afraid of humans.
If Jiang Chen could pass through unarmed, then with their weapons, surely the Hungry Wolves would be even more terrified of them.
Soon enough, Jiang Chen made it through the wolf pack unscathed and reached the other side safely.
Liu Zhi and Liang Hong couldn’t help but feel overjoyed, experiencing a sense of relief akin to being reborn after a disaster.
“Brother Jiang, how did you do that?” Liu Zhi and Liang Hong asked curiously, sensing that there was more to this than met the eye.
Jiang Chen remained silent, his gaze fixed on the other side.
There, the Young Muscle Man’s team was eager to try their luck. Seeing that Jiang Chen had passed without any gear gave them confidence; five of them entered the enclosed area with ease.
As Jiang Chen’s imposing presence dissipated, the wolves huddled in the bushes lost their sense of intimidation and slowly emerged once more.
They were far too hungry; now that they sensed no threat, their cold gazes immediately locked onto the five newcomers.
“Awwooo~~~”
The wolf pack howled in unison and charged forward, blocking the path of the muscular Young Muscle Man and his companions.
Had they witnessed this scene earlier, they would have been terrified. However, now that Jiang Chen had demonstrated it was possible to pass through unharmed, they felt little concern for the Hungry Wolves.
“Let me handle this!” said the muscular Young Muscle Man. Taller and stronger than Jiang Chen, he exuded a confidence that surpassed his predecessor. If Jiang Chen could scare off these Hungry Wolves with a shout, then surely he could do the same.
Stepping forward with determination, he fixed his gaze on the wolf pack with a serious expression. A slight smirk appeared on his lips as he mimicked Jiang Chen’s earlier stance and shouted, “Disperse!”
After his commanding shout echoed through the air, he expected the wolves to cower away. To his surprise, however, instead of retreating, the wolves bared their teeth even more ferociously.
"This is bad!" Young Muscle Man exclaimed, his face pale with fear.
As soon as he finished speaking, the Hungry Wolves surged forward.
"Fire! Fire!" Muscle Man urged urgently, his voice filled with panic.
Bang! Bang! Bang! The gunshots rang out, startling the Hungry Wolves and causing them to momentarily halt.
The five Muscle Men huddled closely together, their hands trembling as they stared at the dense pack of wolves. Despite their strength, they felt a wave of fear wash over them in this dire situation.
"What’s going on? That guy just scared off the wolves with a single shout, and my voice is much louder than his," Muscle Man said, frustration etched across his face.
