"We underestimated them. This wolf pack isn't stupid. They were scared off by that kid just now, and now that we're trying the same trick again, they won't fall for it."
"That kid really got lucky, didn't he? If only we had come in first."
"What do we do now?"
"What can we do? There's no way back."
"Don't panic! I read a survival book once that said if you encounter wolves in the wild, you mustn't show any signs of fear. Wolves are very perceptive and can sense your anxiety. Everyone, stay calm."
The group whispered to each other, but who could remain calm in such a situation? Every movement of the wolves made their hearts race. Thankfully, they were together; if anyone had been alone in this situation without support, they would have likely lost all courage by now.
"You have only fifteen minutes. If you haven't passed within that time, you will fail," the old man's voice echoed again.
Upon hearing the old man's words, Young Muscle Man and the others felt like crying without tears. In this situation, they couldn't dare to move. Even with guns in hand, if the Hungry Wolves charged at them without fear of death, the five of them wouldn't stand a chance.
Time ticked away, and eventually, the wolf pack lost patience. They howled and charged toward Young Muscle Man and his group.
Gunshots rang out, but the five handguns failed to intimidate the wolves. The most critical issue was that none of them were skilled marksmen; after all, they had never handled real guns before.
"Ah!" As the wolves closed in, Young Muscle Man was the first to be bitten. His muscular physique was quite tempting to the Hungry Wolves.
Jiang Chen watched coldly from the sidelines. To be honest, he felt no sympathy for these people; they had repeatedly offended him before, and his refraining from teaching them a lesson was already a form of mercy.
As he watched the wolves tear into the five individuals, blood splattered everywhere, causing those observing to tremble with fear.
At this rate, death was inevitable.
"Everyone step back!" Suddenly, a voice rang out.
The frenzied Hungry Wolves showed signs of fear again; they tucked their tails and quickly retreated into the bushes, not daring to come out.
Only Young Muscle Man and his group remained on the ground moaning in pain. Young Muscle Man was injured the worst, with multiple bite wounds bleeding profusely. Even among them, the most beautiful woman had her face clawed by a Hungry Wolf; she would likely bear a scar for life.
Seeing the wolf pack disperse, everyone turned to Jiang Chen again; this time, no one considered it a coincidence anymore.
The foreign old man’s expression grew serious as he stared at Jiang Chen across from him, looking displeased.
Even if Jiang Chen could scare off these wolves, he had broken the rules of the game—something that was absolutely unacceptable.
"Youth," the foreign old man said coldly, "I don't care what means you used to scare off the wolves, but you've disrupted the game rules now. Although you passed safely, you've lost your reward of ten cards. If you interfere with the game again, you won't live to see another day."
"This game of yours is too boring; I don't have the patience to play along anymore. Now, let whoever is behind this game come out and see me," Jiang Chen replied with a faint smile.
If this game didn't involve life or death, Jiang Chen might have played along slowly to see what they were up to; however, it was no longer necessary now. After all, these players were Huaxia people—Jiang Chen couldn't just stand by and watch them die. If he continued to observe coldly, it was likely that half of them would perish by the end of this second round of games.
