Chapter Seven
The sting of the dagger sent a fiery pain through my back.
I quickly activated my healing skill, and the wound began to close rapidly.
"Are you okay?"
The girl had already regained consciousness and asked with concern.
"I'm fine," I replied, shaking my head as I looked at her. "You should leave quickly; otherwise, I won't let you go."
"Do you really think you can still fight me?"
The girl sneered, her dagger lunging toward me once more.
I knew I couldn't afford to delay any longer.
Taking a deep breath, I activated the Invisibility Skill, instantly vanishing from sight.
The girl gasped in surprise, scanning her surroundings. "Where did he go?"
I reappeared behind her, snatching the dagger from her hand and swiftly subduing her.
"You..."
Her eyes widened in terror as she stared at me. "You actually..."
Ignoring her, I bound her hands and then moved to the backpack that had fallen to the ground, retrieving the Energy Shielding Device.
I activated the Energy Shielding Device and placed it over the girl.
"Now you're safe," I said to her.
"Thank you," she replied, looking at me with gratitude.
I nodded and then looked at the bound woman.
"Now, you just stay here quietly."
The most urgent task at hand was to quickly build a shelter; otherwise, incidents like the one earlier would surely happen again.
I began searching for materials needed for the refuge.
The surrounding trees were my primary target.
Using an axe I had found, I started chopping down trees to collect wood.
In addition to wood, I also needed stones, dirt, and other materials.
I began digging into the ground to gather dirt and stones.
The process of collecting resources was arduous, but I dared not slack off for even a moment.
I knew that only by establishing a shelter as soon as possible could I survive in this dangerous world.
I transported the collected wood, stones, and dirt back and started constructing the shelter.
First, I built a simple frame using stones and dirt, then filled in the walls and roof with wood.
After much effort, a rudimentary wooden cabin was finally completed.
Although this little cabin was quite basic, it provided a place to shield me from the wind and rain.
I felt a sense of relief wash over me.
Suddenly, the voice of System X echoed in my mind, "Congratulations on completing the construction of your shelter. You have earned 100 points."
I felt a surge of joy and quickly opened the trading system to check what items I could exchange for.
I discovered that I could use my points to redeem additional materials needed for building the cabin, such as glass and metal sheets.
Without hesitation, I exchanged for these materials and began upgrading my little cabin.
I installed glass in the windows and reinforced the walls and roof with metal sheets.
The upgraded cabin was sturdier and more aesthetically pleasing.
I felt very satisfied.
I began gathering food and tools again.
I found a clean water source and filled a container with water.
I also discovered some wild fruits and vegetables that could stave off hunger.
In addition, I found several tools, such as hoes and shovels, which could be used for cultivating the land.
I started to clear the land around the cabin to plant vegetables and fruits.
Using my special abilities, I accelerated the growth of the plants.
Before long, the area around my cabin transformed into an oasis.
I felt an immense sense of pride.
"You’re amazing."
Huang Yingying looked at me, her eyes filled with admiration.
After spending so much time together, I learned that the girl who had been unconscious was named Huang Yingying, and she had also been suddenly transported into this game.
However, for some reason, she fell unconscious as soon as she arrived, and it was only after I rescued her that she woke up.
"It's nothing special."
I smiled, "I just want to survive."
"I believe you can do it," Huang Yingying said.
I nodded, my heart filled with hope.
The voice of System X echoed again, "New Survivor detected entering the game. Please prepare yourself."
A chill ran through my heart as I realized a new challenge was about to arrive.
"It seems our peaceful life is about to be disrupted again," I said, glancing at Huang Yingying, my tone tinged with a hint of resignation.
"No matter what happens, I will face it with you," Huang Yingying replied firmly.
I tightened my grip on her hand, feeling a surge of strength within me.
"System, where is the new Survivor?" I inquired.
"Approximately 10 kilometers away," System X responded.
"10 kilometers?" A thought sparked in my mind. "Let's go take a look."
"Alright," Huang Yingying nodded.
We left the shelter and headed toward the direction of the new Survivor.
