Chapter Six
I widened my eyes, a sense of foreboding washing over me.
“Xiao Jin, run!”
I scooped up Xiao Jin and took off at full speed.
Behind us, the rumbling sound grew louder, and the ground began to shake violently.
What was chasing us?
Could it be... the Iron-Eating Beast had returned?!

It was a naturally formed cavern, spacious inside, filled with stalactites of various shapes and sizes.
"We are safe for now."
I let out a sigh of relief and plopped down onto the ground.
"Rumble..."
A loud noise echoed outside the cave, and the massive figure seemed to have reached the entrance.
It lingered at the cave's mouth for a moment but did not come inside.
"Thank goodness it can't get in."
I patted my chest, feeling a wave of anxiety wash over me.
"Whimper..."
Suddenly, Xiao Jin tugged at the hem of my shirt and pointed toward the depths of the cave.

I asked in confusion, "Did you find something?"
Xiao Jin nodded and then led the way deeper into the cave.
"Wait for me, Xiao Jin!"
I hurriedly followed after it.
As we ventured further into the cave, the terrain became more complex, twisting and turning like a labyrinth.
Xiao Jin seemed very familiar with this place, navigating effortlessly ahead.
"Xiao Jin, where are we going?"
I asked while keeping pace with it.
Xiao Jin did not respond but continued moving forward.
After a long while, we arrived at an open space.
"This is..."
I was astonished to discover that there was an underground lake here.
The lake was crystal clear, revealing the bottom, and some glowing plants floated on its surface.
"This place is so beautiful!" I couldn't help but exclaim.
"Umm..."
Xiao Jin suddenly pointed towards the center of the lake, where a massive rock sat, seemingly holding something.
"Let's go take a look."
I carefully held Xiao Jin and made my way towards the center of the lake.
On the rock, there was an enormous turtle!

Taking advantage of this, we maneuvered around the Forest Python and ran towards the edge of the forest.
"Odyssey, are you there?"
I tried to contact Odyssey.
"Zzz... I am..."
Odyssey's voice came through, breaking and intermittent.
"Are you okay?"
I asked.
"I... I need... energy..."
Odyssey said weakly,
"Did you... collect the ore from Tianzhu Peak... yet?"
"Not yet,"
I replied,
"We just encountered a Forest Python and almost lost our lives!"
"Forest... Python..."
Odyssey seemed a bit surprised,
"You... are you alright?"
"I'm fine,"
I said,
"We escaped using the Invisibility Cloak."
"That's good..."
Odyssey sighed in relief,
"You... hurry up and collect... the ore... I... I can barely hold on..."
"Okay, I understand!"
I responded,
"I will get to Tianzhu Peak as soon as possible!"

The voice of Odyssey faded away.

At the end of the path, there was indeed a cave.

I held Xiao Jin tightly and stepped into the cave.

I walked toward the staircase while holding Xiao Jin.
The stairs were steep and long, seemingly endless.
"Come on, Xiao Jin! We can definitely reach the top!"
As I climbed the stairs, I encouraged Xiao Jin.
Xiao Jin seemed to sense my determination and nodded vigorously.
We ascended step by step along the staircase.
After an unknown amount of time climbing, we finally reached the end of the staircase.
"We're at the top of the mountain!" I exclaimed excitedly.
The summit was a vast platform, and in the center stood a massive ore.
This ore was entirely black, emitting a faint glow.
"Is this the ore of Tianzhu Peak?" I stepped closer to examine it carefully.
"Ugh..." Xiao Jin suddenly tugged at my sleeve and pointed behind the ore.

I walked around to the back of the ore and discovered a small cave hidden there.
"There's a cave here?" A thought sparked in my mind. "Could there be some secrets inside?"
I picked up Xiao Jin and entered the cave.
It was dark inside, so I took out a Glow Stick to illuminate the surroundings.
"This is..." I was astonished to find that at the end of the cave, there was a stone door!
The door was engraved with strange symbols that resembled an ancient script.
"Odyssey, are you there?" I attempted to reach out to Odyssey. "Do you recognize these symbols?"
"Zii... Zii... What is this..."
The voice of Odyssey came through intermittently.
"This is... Ancient God Language..."
"Ancient God Language?"
It was the first time I had heard this term.
"So, what is behind this stone door?"
"I... I don't know..." Odyssey replied.

In the center of the space stood an altar.
On the altar was a statue.
The statue depicted a humanoid creature, with a pair of horns on its head and a pair of wings on its back.

I gazed at the statue in astonishment.
"Could this be... Ancient God?"

Xiao Jin suddenly let out a low whimper, and her body began to tremble.
"Xiao Jin, what's wrong?"
I asked with concern.
Xiao Jin pointed at the statue, her eyes filled with fear.
"Is there something wrong with this statue?"
A thought struck me, and I scrutinized the statue closely.
Suddenly, I noticed that the statue's eyes seemed to move!
"This is bad!"
A chill ran down my spine.
"This statue... is alive!"
At that moment, the statue suddenly opened its eyes!
"Who are you...?"
The statue spoke, its voice deep and authoritative.

At that moment, the statue had already caught up to us.
"Die!"
The statue roared and swung a fist towards us.
"Watch out!"
I quickly hugged Xiao Jin and dodged the statue's attack.
"Damn it, this guy is too strong!"
I cursed inwardly, realizing that we were no match for it.
"Woo..."
Xiao Jin suddenly pointed at the ore in my hand, as if an idea had struck.
"Are you saying... this ore can be used against it?" I asked.
Xiao Jin nodded.

I raised the ore above my head and shouted, "Odyssey, quickly absorb the energy from this ore!"
"Zzz... Zzz..."
Odyssey's voice came through again, "Absorbing..."

Xiao Jin seemed to understand my intent. It swiftly flew over and began to collect the leaves with its tiny claws.
"Faster! Please, faster!" I urged, my anxiety rising.
"It's coming closer!"
The massive body of the Forest Python was now mere feet away, and I could even smell the nauseating stench emanating from it.
Just as the situation became critical, Xiao Jin finally returned with enough leaves and flew back to my side.
"Hurry, give me the leaves!"
I snatched the leaves from Xiao Jin and quickly rubbed them on the fragment of the Invisibility Cloak.

In the clearing stood a massive stone tablet.
The tablet was inscribed with strange characters that looked like... Ancient God Language?
"Odyssey, are you there?"
I tried to reach out to Odyssey.
"Do you recognize these characters?"
There was no response.
"Odyssey? Odyssey?"
I called out anxiously.
"Say something!"
Still no reply.
"Damn it!"
Frustrated, I pounded the ground.
"This guy always drops the ball at critical moments!"
Suddenly, Xiao Jin pointed at the top of the stone tablet, where something seemed to be shimmering.

I looked up and saw that at the top of the tablet was embedded...

"Let's go!" I shouted.
Da Jin spread its wings and soared high into the sky, carrying me toward the top of the monument.
"Wow! This is so cool!" I exclaimed excitedly.
"Da Jin, you’re amazing!"
Before long, we reached the summit of the monument.
I reached out and took down the Golden Orb.
Just then, the monument suddenly began to shake!
"What’s happening?" I asked in surprise.
"Get away from there!"
A familiar voice suddenly echoed in my mind.
"Odyssey?!" I exclaimed joyfully.
"You’re finally online!"
"Stop wasting time!"
Odyssey's voice sounded urgent.
"Get away from there! That monument is a teleportation portal!"
"A teleportation portal?!" I was taken aback.
"Where are we being sent?"
"I don't know!"
Odyssey replied,
"But I can feel a powerful energy surging through the portal!"
"What should we do?"
I asked,
"How do we close the portal?"
"Put that orb back!"
Odyssey said,
"That's the Portal Key!"
"Alright!"
I quickly placed the orb back into the groove at the top of the stone tablet.
Instantly, the tablet stopped shaking, and everything around us returned to calm.
"Ah..."
I sighed in relief,
"We finally did it."
"What should we do now?"
I asked,
"How do we get back?"
"I'm locating your position..."
Odyssey said,
"Just a moment..."
"Got it!"
"Nearby, there is a natural wormhole that can transport you back to Earth!"
"Really?!"
I asked excitedly, "That's great!"
"Follow my instructions,"
Odyssey said, "Walk east for about five hundred meters..."

I quickly jumped off Da Jin's back and headed east as directed by Odyssey.

I groped my way forward in the darkness, unsure of how long I had been walking when suddenly a bright light appeared ahead.

Odyssey's voice echoed in my mind.
"That's the exit of the wormhole. You can go through now!"
