Chen Moxuan sensed the astonishing power surging within Yun Che. His heart was filled with astonishment and even more with confusion. How could this young man possess such immense strength? Could it truly be related to the Kaitian Seal?
The thought flashed through his mind as Chen Moxuan swiftly approached. He saw Yun Che surrounded by an invisible radiance, his eyes reddened with fury and unwillingness. Clenching his fists tightly, he struck the dark door above him, shattering it. The tremendous force pierced through the roof, causing several tiles to fall onto the Wolf Demon below.
Then, with a sudden leap, he sprang out of the cellar! As he landed, he found himself right on the back of the Wolf Demon. The Wolf Demon, a tyrant of the deep mountains in the southern region, was known for its tough skin and boundless strength, making ordinary warriors seem like ants before it. However, at this moment, faced with Yun Che's unexpected outburst, it appeared somewhat flustered.
Each of Yun Che's strikes landed on its vital points, causing it to howl in pain while being unable to retaliate. The room was in disarray, furniture shattered and scattered everywhere. On the back of the Wolf Demon, Yun Che threw punches left and right, each blow accompanied by a fierce wind that showcased incredible power. Although his movements were somewhat unrefined, the reckless determination behind them made Chen Moxuan nod in approval.
This young man had a resilient spirit; if properly guided, he would surely become a great talent in the future, Chen Moxuan thought to himself. Although the Wolf Demon was momentarily stunned, its demonic power remained intact. After taking dozens of punches, it had not sustained any significant injuries. Clearly, if this continued, that child would soon become nothing more than a meal for the beast.
With this thought in mind, Chen Moxuan decided to intervene. He flicked his fingers lightly, and a beam of sword light shot forth like lightning, instantly severing the Wolf Demon's two hind legs. The Wolf Demon cried out in agony and finally collapsed to the ground, fear and unwillingness evident in its eyes.
Yun Che also found himself exhausted, kneeling on the ground as he gasped for breath while looking at the fallen beast with confusion. Despite his heart being filled with questions about why the Wolf Demon suddenly collapsed and why its hind legs had been severed, his life experience told him that this was not a moment for hesitation.
He understood well that if he did not take advantage of this opportunity to kill the injured Wolf Demon now, once it regained its strength, both he and his mother would face dire consequences!
Thinking of this, Yun Che gritted his teeth, a glimmer of determination flashing in his eyes.
He clenched his fists and lunged forward again, each punch infused with all his anger and fear, striking fiercely at the Wolf Demon’s abdomen. The Wolf Demon, having its hind legs severed, was unsteady and unable to retract its belly in time. It took several blows head-on, immediately spitting out blood, fear and despair flickering in its eyes.
Yet Yun Che paid no heed, his fists raining down like a storm. The Wolf Demon’s cries grew weaker and weaker until finally, after a violent convulsion, it lay completely still.
Yun Che gasped for breath, kneeling on the ground as he looked at the fallen Wolf Demon. A surge of unprecedented realization welled up within him. He knew he had finally protected this home and safeguarded his mother. In that moment, he felt as if he was no longer that weak boy but had transformed into a true man.
Yun Che's mother, tears streaming down her face, tightly embraced her son’s head, weeping uncontrollably. Her eyes were filled with relief from surviving the ordeal and pride for her son’s bravery.
At that moment, Tiger Brother’s massive form slowly entered through the shattered door. Its imposing gaze swept across the wreckage of the room before finally resting on Yun Che and his mother.
Driven by maternal instinct, Yun Che's mother instinctively shielded her child by pulling him behind her, positioning herself in front as if to block any potential danger with her frail body. However, Yun Che stubbornly stood in front of his mother. His gaze was resolute; despite being covered in wounds, he straightened his back like a small tree standing firm against the storm.
“Mother, don’t be afraid! I’m here!” Yun Che shouted loudly, bolstering his own courage while trying to soothe his mother’s frightened heart.
In truth, his legs felt weak, his hands trembled, yet a rebellious spirit rose within him. He thought about fighting the Tiger Demon to the death!
Just then, Chen Moxuan slowly emerged from behind Tiger Brother.
Yun Che looked on in surprise at the man dressed in splendid robes who had entered. He felt that the deep gaze of the man was incredibly gentle.
“I am Chen Moxuan,” he said softly while raising a hand to signal for them not to panic. “Do not be afraid; with us here, this beast can no longer harm you.”
These words flowed like a warm current, instantly comforting Yun Che and his mother’s startled hearts.
Yun Che's mind calmed slightly as he looked at Chen Moxuan with gratitude swelling within him. He quickly deduced that it was this immortal who had severed the Wolf Demon’s hind legs and helped them escape.
Thus, he hurriedly knelt down and deeply bowed in thanks: “Thank you for your assistance, immortal! You are a great benefactor to my mother and me!”
Chen Moxuan looked at Yun Che, a glimmer of satisfaction flashing in his eyes. He gently patted Yun Che's head and smiled, "Good child, there's no need for such formality. You possess exceptional talent and a resilient spirit; you are a rare gem. I am willing to take you as my disciple, to teach you the ways of immortality and help you embark on the path of cultivation. Are you willing?"
Hearing this, Yun Che hesitated, glancing back at his mother. However, she quickly pressed his head down to bow to the ground. An immortal—of course he would be willing!
Yun Che broke free from his mother's grasp, rose to his knees, and stood tall with determination in his gaze. "Immortal, I appreciate your kindness, but if I were to leave with you, my mother would have no one to care for her. This village has long been plagued by monsters; if I do not stay, how will my mother survive?"
His tone was resolute, and in his eyes, there was both gratitude and reluctance as he looked at Chen Moxuan.
Chen Moxuan smiled faintly at his response. He took out a pill that emitted a faint glow from his sleeve and gently handed it to Yun Che's mother, signaling her to take it. "Madam, this pill will ensure your health and well-being."
Yun Che's mother looked at Chen Moxuan with gratitude shining in her eyes as she hurriedly accepted the pill and swallowed it. As soon as she did, she felt warmth spreading through her legs. When she stood up, she realized her legs were no longer weak; she felt strength returning to her body, and even her appearance seemed to brighten.
Yun Che was overjoyed for his mother.
Chen Moxuan then turned his attention to Tiger Brother, who snorted disdainfully as if rolling its eyes at something. It strode over to a corner of the yard, relieved itself, and then buried it with dirt. A strange odor wafted through the air, while Chen Moxuan vaguely sensed an incredibly terrifying power contained within.
Tiger Brother stepped into the house and said, "Remember, as long as this house isn't knocked down or the ground turned over, no monster will dare enter this village again!"
Yun Che and his mother were astonished that Tiger Brother could speak human words. However, recalling Chen Moxuan's identity as an immortal made it seem entirely reasonable to them. They quickly bowed their heads in gratitude once more.
