The monstrous figure looming higher than the mountains had eight arms protruding from its back. These arms did not appear to have grown naturally; they seemed forcibly attached, grotesque and twisted. Each arm was covered in savage scars and an eerie Scarlet Curse, exuding an ominous aura.
Its head was enormous, and its eyes burned like two blazing flames, revealing a bloodthirsty madness. Faced with this sudden and terrifying sight, Chen Moxuan sighed, "Master, you were right. The creature down there is more troublesome than we anticipated."
Shao Lanyin's expression darkened as she fixed her gaze on the colossal beast and spoke in a low voice. The creature's strength was not at the pinnacle, but its greatest problem lay in its tough skin and thick flesh.
Chen Moxuan nodded, "Its resilience is extremely high. I remember when I fought the Blood Emperor; he summoned a Blood Puppet that was as large as a mountain. I cooked it in the Fire Cauldron for an hour, yet it recovered quickly. But this one is clearly more challenging—standing a thousand feet tall, it must have devoured countless people!"
Jing Yun's soul trembled in shock. Qu Lie, Si Cheng, Deng Jun—he muttered one name after another in a daze.
Chen Moxuan followed Jing Yun's trembling gaze. There, on the chest of the Blood Puppet, was a patch of darkness that starkly contrasted with the surrounding writhing flesh. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be human heads—strands and clusters entangled together, a horrifying sight!
It was evident that Jing Yun recognized each of those heads. Endless sorrow filled his eyes as he murmured to himself; each name was accompanied by a low wail of grief. They were his former comrades from his sect, now reduced to mere parts of this monster.
Those heads seemed to hear his cries and turned toward him.
"Come with me," one voice whimpered.
"Oh, it hurts!" another lamented.
"Master, please set me free!" came a haunting voice.
The eerie sounds drifted through the air, chilling to the bone.
Jing Yun's soul trembled continuously.
Seeing this, Chen Moxuan quickly took out the Soul Mirror, from which a gentle light emanated, slowly drawing Jing Yun's spirit into it. He feared that if this continued, Jing Yun might completely lose his soul.
"Don't worry," Chen Moxuan whispered reassuringly. "I will definitely help you take revenge."
He then turned to his companion, Tiger Brother. "Tiger Brother, hold this cave steady and don't let the collapsing rocks crush Jing Shan."
Upon hearing this, Tiger Brother immediately agreed. It let out a low growl, its massive body firmly rooted to the ground, resembling an unshakeable mountain.
Finally, Chen Moxuan turned to Shao Lanyin, his eyes shining with determination. "Master, let's take action. If this monster continues to live, it may devour everyone in the Xian Yuan Holy State."
Shao Lanyin nodded in agreement. In a flash, she transformed into a streak of light and charged towards the towering Blood Puppet.
As she approached, Shao Lanyin softly chanted, and the Wuji Sword Intent instantly solidified into bone, while celestial energy coalesced into flesh, forming a gigantic holy sword.
Watching from the side, Chen Moxuan felt a sharp pain in his eyes and ears, followed by tears streaming down his face. In battles of such magnitude, lacking sufficient strength would lead to his fate.
However, it seemed as if Chen Moxuan's eyes were unharmed. They healed not like torn flesh reconnecting or blood merging; instead, it appeared as though they had never been injured at all. The blood that flowed seemed alive as it scurried back into Chen Moxuan's body.
"Why am I not dead yet still bleeding?" he murmured to himself.
When he looked again at the heavenly sword piercing through the sky, his eyes were intact and his ears no longer bled.
The holy sword suddenly slashed down from the heavens, its blade shining like a silver thread, seemingly intent on splitting the tainted ground in two.
However, to everyone's shock, even though the holy sword wielded unmatched power and cleaved Meat Mountain in half, those severed parts appeared to possess their own consciousness. They writhed and squirmed as if alive and quickly rejoined together as if nothing had happened.
Meat Mountain seemed enraged; no longer confined to its form, it began to move with an agility that belied its massive size and engaged Shao Lanyin in close combat. Each strike of her sword left deep gashes on its body.
But those wounds healed at a visibly rapid pace, as if they possessed an immortal quality akin to Chen Moxuan, effectively hindering Shao Lanyin's movements.
Chen Moxuan shook his head as he watched from the side. He knew that if this continued, even with his master's exceptional strength, it would be difficult to achieve a swift victory. If they could not end this quickly, the surrounding land would be destroyed in an instant, and the spirits within the mountains would be utterly annihilated. As for Jing Shan, trapped within that forbidden mountain, death would eventually come.
Chen Moxuan quickly contemplated his options, a thought flashing through his mind: to completely defeat this monster, they had to allow his master to unleash her Divine Ability and obliterate it without leaving a trace. "Master, prepare to use your Divine Ability! I will protect you!" Chen Moxuan shouted.
Upon hearing this, Shao Lanyin's eyes flickered with hesitation for a moment before being replaced by determination.
Celestial energy began to gather instantly. The sky suddenly darkened; thick clouds rolled in, blocking out the sunlight as if night had fallen prematurely.
Meanwhile, several dozen miles away in a small village, the villagers were busy with their daily tasks. Suddenly, the sky changed dramatically, causing them to pause in confusion and look up, murmuring among themselves: "Why has it turned dark in the middle of the day?"
Others nearby also stopped their work to gaze at the sky. Some expressed their superstitions and hurried home, while others boldly remained outside.
Back on the battlefield, the Blood Puppet seemed to sense the threat from Shao Lanyin. It let out a deafening roar and charged towards her at an astonishing speed, intent on killing her immediately.
However, before it could get close, Chen Moxuan sprang into action. He drew Shen Deng with his left hand and waved his right hand.
Suddenly, a massive cauldron appeared out of thin air, radiating intense heat as if it could melt anything in its path. The cauldron rapidly expanded, flames rising within it like a tidal wave before transforming into chains that ensnared the Blood Puppet and dragged it towards the cauldron's opening.
The Meat Mountain was being roasted like a whole lamb over an open fire. The flames blazed fiercely, not only weakening the Puppet's strength but also seemingly preventing it from moving further forward.
Although Chen Moxuan had successfully trapped the Blood Puppet, his gaze did not linger; instead, he quickly scanned his surroundings as if searching for something. At that moment, Shao Lanyin's eyes also flashed with golden light.
Celestial power surged like a tide, gathering upon her divine sword in her hand.
At that moment, a white light suddenly appeared on the horizon!
