The Rakshasa Guards had been slaughtered in droves, and Luoxia City had fallen. Only the last palace remained. What could the Rakshasa King be doing inside?
Chen Moxuan would never believe that the Rakshasa King was a fool. There had to be a reason behind his actions!
Deep within the palace, the Right General rushed back as soon as he escaped through the city gates.
"My lord, the army sent by Chen Kingdom is far stronger than we anticipated. Despite my best efforts, I was still no match for them and barely managed to escape with my life."
The Right General spoke in a delicate tone, leaning closer to the Rakshasa King, trying to bridge the distance between them. She was also afraid of incurring his wrath; she knew well that the Rakshasa King was unpredictable.
Although she had a close relationship with him, it didn’t mean he held any deep feelings for her!
"Is that so? But you seem to be unscathed," the Rakshasa King said with a smile. "Lying is not a habit I appreciate."
Yet, the Right General felt an overwhelming fear. Finally, she couldn’t hold back and knelt down.
"It was my cowardice that made me flee when I saw the city gates breached! But I only wished to keep my body intact to accompany you longer!"
As she spoke, tears streamed down her face, making her look pitiful.
However, the Rakshasa King remained unmoved.
"I remember giving a command to defend the city gates. The longer you hold out, the better. What you did was a direct violation of my orders! Although I like you very much, I detest those who disobey me. Tell me, what should I do about this?"
"Please spare me!" The Right General exclaimed in fear, repeatedly bowing her head until it bled against the ground.
"Get up! A broken head is hardly becoming!" The Rakshasa King said gently, creating an illusion of concern for her.
"Thank you, my lord! Thank you!" The Right General quickly rose, believing that he had forgiven her.
But just as she stood up, the Rakshasa King reached out and plunged his hand into her chest, pulling out her still-beating heart.
"You disobeyed my orders; I cannot spare you. So I devised this method to keep you with me forever."
The Rakshasa King said softly as he began to devour her heart piece by piece. Blood dripped from his lips and stained his teeth, making him appear like a demon. Yet, his expression remained tender and his tone gentle.
The Right General was at the fetal stage of cultivation; even if his heart were to be ripped out, he would not die immediately. However, upon seeing the Rakshasa King consume her heart, she was filled with rage and despair.
Just before that moment, he finally realized that the Rakshasa King was a heartless and ungrateful person. He had no feelings whatsoever!
You three from the Di Sha War Division, send ten men each into the palace to assess the situation inside.
Chen Feng immediately issued the order. Originally, they had planned for all three Di Sha War Divisions to launch a coordinated attack on the palace. Even if the Rakshasa King had some hidden tricks up his sleeve, they believed they could handle it.
After breaching three city gates and killing numerous Rakshasa Guards, their confidence soared. However, when Chen Moxuan mentioned that there might be significant dangers within the palace and that they should proceed with caution, they quickly adjusted their mindset.

Once thirty soldiers entered the palace, they found it eerily empty. There was not a single soul in sight. It was as if this vast palace was devoid of life.
They conducted a thorough search of the palace and confirmed that there was no one inside before promptly reporting back.
After hearing their report, Chen Feng said, "It’s impossible for there to be no one in the palace! I saw many Rakshasa Guards retreating into the palace; there must be someone inside!"
"But we truly didn’t see anyone!" one soldier replied. "We split into thirty individuals to search separately, and none of us encountered anyone. It really seems like there’s no one in the palace!"
One person might make a mistake; a few might also misjudge, but it was unlikely that so many could all be wrong.
Chen Moxuan chose to believe these soldiers. "Then where did the Rakshasa Guards who entered go? We’ve surrounded the entire palace; even if they could fly, they couldn’t escape our eyes!"
Chen Feng still felt puzzled. "Just because they’re not in the palace doesn’t mean they aren’t within our encirclement."
As Chen Moxuan spoke, he tapped his foot on the ground thoughtfully.
"My lord, are you suggesting they might be hiding underground?" Tori Fa quickly grasped what Chen Moxuan was implying.
"Exactly! This time we need to send more people inside primarily to check for any entrances leading underground and to see if there are any subterranean spaces!"
"Then let's send all the soldiers out to search!"
Chen Feng said lightly. Although he had become a qualified leader, his temperament was still somewhat impatient. He wanted to win this war as soon as possible. If he succeeded, both the reputation of Chen Kingdom and his own would be greatly enhanced.
"Wait, since there is an underground space here, we should be more cautious. Let's send only half of our people inside!"

"You should learn more from Long General about this," he added.
After hearing Tori Fa's words, Chen Feng calmed down. He reflected on how his earlier thoughts had indeed been too radical.
Once they reached a consensus, half of the soldiers immediately entered the palace. They would wait for results while remaining prepared for battle and ready to assist those who had just gone inside.
The Rakshasa King had not yet emerged, which meant he was likely hiding within and plotting something.
Time passed slowly as those who entered continued searching for the underground entrance. Suddenly, a soldier shouted loudly, "There’s an opening here!"
