This certainly cannot be discerned at a glance. It requires him to compare and then go down to the ground to see for himself.
"Let's head to that spot and see if it's beneath that peak," Chen Moxuan said, pointing to a location.
Tiger Brother quickly flew toward it. Upon landing, Chen Moxuan immediately began inspecting the surroundings. Unfortunately, while there was indeed a valley here that resembled the one described by Rakshasa King, it was not Heartless Valley.
"Let’s keep moving!" Chen Moxuan said, undeterred. He hopped back onto Tiger Brother, who took to the skies once more for further observation.
Soon enough, he discovered another potential location. However, this too was not Heartless Valley. In fact, there was a fierce beast inside this valley that resembled a wild boar. The creature charged at Chen Moxuan as soon as it spotted him, intent on attacking.
In an instant, Tiger Brother taught it a lesson, swallowing it whole to ensure it wouldn’t be so impulsive in its next life. It needed to learn to assess its opponents before acting!
Thus, Chen Moxuan sat atop Tiger Brother, continuously traversing the Alamo Mountains in search of features similar to those described by Rakshasa King before descending to investigate. After checking seven or eight locations in succession without finding Heartless Valley, he began to wonder if Rakshasa King had been lying.
"If I find out he was deceiving us after all this searching, I’ll devour him whole!" Tiger Brother started to show signs of impatience.
The Alamo Mountains were vast, and they had only explored a small portion. Patience was essential. Rakshasa King should be telling the truth. After Tian Hun and Di Hun became stronger, Chen Moxuan's expertise in Shen Hun had also reached impressive levels.
He could vaguely sense the fluctuations of a person’s aura. At that moment, when the Rakshasa King shared this news with him, the fluctuations from Shen Hun were quite significant, indicating that the Rakshasa King had indeed experienced something terrifying. Otherwise, when recalling those moments, the fluctuations from Shen Hun wouldn’t have been so pronounced.
"Let’s continue searching!" Chen Moxuan's words were still heard by Tiger Brother.
Thus, they pressed on in their quest. Along the way, many beasts noticed them and attempted to attack. There was no need for Chen Moxuan to intervene; all these beasts ended up in Tiger Brother’s belly. He was already feeling frustrated for not finding a suitable place, and these occasional beasts became an outlet for his pent-up energy.
The Alamo Mountains, despite its harsh and unpredictable climate, was rich in Ling Qi. This made it a habitat for many beasts, including some very powerful ones. In addition to the beasts, there were also cultivators who appeared here—some came to hunt the beasts, while others sought rare treasures. Ordinary mortals, however, were ill-suited to live in such an environment.
Chen Moxuan searched through more than ten valleys but unfortunately found none that matched Heartless Valley. Once again, he discovered a terrain similar to what the Rakshasa King had described. He proceeded cautiously to investigate further.
However, as he approached this valley, he immediately sensed something was off. The valley was completely shrouded in mist, obscuring what lay within and giving him an icy feeling. How could a valley evoke such a sensation?
Chen Moxuan quickly realized that something was amiss. Previously, no valley had ever given him such a feeling.
As he continued, he noticed that there were no beasts in the surrounding valley. In fact, there wasn't even a single mosquito or insect to be found. The closer he got to the valley, the more he felt a sense of danger intensifying. It was as if his instincts were warning him.
At a certain level of cultivation, practitioners could awaken a kind of intuition, allowing them to sense impending danger. Chen Moxuan was experiencing this now. Instead of feeling fear upon sensing the danger, he felt a surge of excitement. This valley could very well be the Heartless Valley!
With this realization in mind, he did not recklessly enter the valley. Instead, he circled around it, observing what lay beyond its borders. Could this valley truly be the Heartless Valley we are searching for?
Tiger Brother also noticed that Chen Moxuan was acting differently and inquired about it. "Is it possible? Or could it be another dangerous valley? Do you feel anything unusual or dangerous about it?"
"I don't feel anything special! And I don't sense any danger!" Tiger Brother replied.
It seemed not everyone could perceive the abnormality of this valley. Chen Moxuan's ability to sense it might stem from his powerful Shen Hun.
After making a complete circle around the valley, he discovered that within a three-kilometer radius, there were no other signs of life. With this finding, he was about eighty percent sure that this valley was indeed the Heartless Valley.
He shared his thoughts and feelings with Tiger Brother. "Tiger Brother, I've decided to go in and investigate the situation in this valley. No matter how long I take inside, you must not come looking for me. Just stay here outside and find a place to wait for my return. I might need your assistance when I come out!"
This was also one of the reasons he had invited Tiger Brother along.
"Just be careful!" Tiger Brother replied, following Chen Moxuan's instructions without insisting on joining him inside.
After saying these words, Chen Moxuan stepped slowly toward the valley. The closer he got to the valley, the more he felt a chilling sensation. It was an emotionless feeling! Finally, his figure disappeared into the valley.
Tiger Brother watched as Chen Moxuan vanished and found a scenic spot next to the valley to rest. Where is this place? Oh right, it's Heartless Valley. Why am I here?
Chen Moxuan looked at the street before him, feeling somewhat disoriented. He sensed that he had lost some memories. Yet, there were certain things he remembered. For instance, he knew this was Heartless Valley. He had come here to accomplish something important. But what that was, he simply could not recall. It felt as if he had completely forgotten.
The street was quite ordinary. There weren't many people around, and business was rather slow. However, there was still a bit of activity. It was early morning, and vendors were calling out to sell breakfast.
"Steamed buns! Steamed buns! Small and delicious steamed buns, six for one basket—affordable and tasty!"
"Soy milk and fried dough sticks! Eat soy milk and fried dough sticks; once you try them, you won't be able to stop!"
"Old Bear's Noodle House! Fifty years of tradition—once you eat here, you'll want more!"
Why does this place feel just like the mortal world?
