"You are not wrong," Lan Ruo Yi interrupted Liu Ru Yan, gesturing for her to look at the door, where a shadow was lurking behind the curtain.
Liu Ru Yan studied it for a moment before gracefully rising and walking toward the window, standing behind the curtain to observe the figure outside.
Suddenly, she fell silent, glancing at Lan Ruo Yi, who looked puzzled and also moved toward the curtain. They soon spotted Liu Yuchuan and Liu Da pacing back and forth at the entrance.
"Is your uncle trying to say something?" Lan Ruo Yi pondered for a moment before sincerely asking Liu Ru Yan.
Liu Ru Yan felt tongue-tied. How could she explain? She had no idea what her uncle was up to; he never let anyone rest easy. She turned toward the stairs, and Lan Ruo Yi glanced outside before deciding to follow her lead.
Liu Yuchuan and Liu Da were getting anxious at the entrance of Liu Ru Yan's villa. He had just missed a step—who exactly had resolved things with Liu Ru Yan? Which suitor was it?
No, that was his question.
"Boss, the young lady has already gone to bed. You’re acting like a ghost; it’s quite frightening," Liu Da tried to persuade Liu Yuchuan, hoping to ease his tension.
Suddenly, a stone came flying toward them. Liu Da instinctively stepped in front of Liu Yuchuan as he darkly stared at the source of the stone, seeing two disheveled figures on the balcony watching them.
Then one of them picked up a phone, and Liu Yuchuan recognized it was Liu Ru Yan; his own phone vibrated right after.
Liu Yuchuan answered the call: "Hello?"
On the other end came an outburst: "Uncle, you really are my dear uncle! Why are you still here after bringing us back in the middle of the night? Speak up if you have something to say!"
Liu Yuchuan stole a sidelong glance at the figures on the balcony; even from such a distance, he could feel her resentment boiling over. Liu Ru Yan showed no intention of letting him speak and hung up abruptly.
Only then did Liu Yuchuan notice how late it had gotten. Feeling guilty, he said to Liu Da, "It seems... heh, it really is late. Should we leave now?"
"What do you mean leave? Come over here!" A chilling voice came from behind Liu Yuchuan. Liu Ru Yan truly felt that something was off with him; first lurking by the window was one thing, but now he wanted to leave again!
"Little Uncle, come inside! If you have something to say, hurry up. It is indeed quite late; we have work tomorrow."
Lan Ruo Yi's soft voice rang out, making Liu Yuchuan even more confused. Even Liu Da shot an admonishing look at his boss. At that moment, a car slowly approached from a distance.
Liu Ru Yan glanced over, gritting her teeth: "Come on in; I want to see what you all are up to."
As Mo Daowan got out of the car, he saw the scene before him: Liu Yuchuan awkwardly standing at the villa entrance while Liu Ru Yan stood behind him with an expressionless face but eyes fixed intently on him. His own sister leaned against the door frame like a limp noodle.
"Sorry for interrupting," Mo Daowan said as he turned to get back into his car, sensing that this was not a good time.
Liu Ru Yan and Liu Yuchuan exchanged puzzled looks.
Lan Ruo Yi rolled her eyes: "??? You’re both crazy, just like Liu Yuchuan!"
"Get inside! Don’t disturb the neighbors!" Liu Ru Yan commanded. Liu Yuchuan and Mo Daowan obediently followed her into the villa.
"Do you two have any plans for tonight?" Liu Ru Yan asked with a smile, looking very amiable.
The remaining three could still hear the gritted teeth behind her words.
"A Yan, please help my brother and uncle find a room to sleep in. We can discuss everything tomorrow; it's too late!" Lan Ruo Yi hesitated but finally spoke up.
As soon as she said this, the two men who were strategizing understood how inappropriate their actions had been.
"Sleep wherever you want; I'm going to sleep with Yi Yi!" Liu Ru Yan declared, grabbing Lan Ruo Yi and striding out confidently.
"Liu Yuchuan turned to Mo Daowan and said, "Come with me to the third floor!" He then led Mo Daowan upstairs, where he had prepared a room specifically for Liu Ru Yan.
He also set up a guest room on the third floor for himself, just in case, and it seemed that it would indeed come in handy now.
"A Yan, I think Wang Yang definitely has issues. It's that thing in Li Meng's office that's been weighing on my mind; it feels off," Lan Ruo Yi said as she lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling and expressing her weakness.
"It's so strange. Even if my eyesight is poor, I shouldn't be unable to see anyone at all. So I believe there's definitely something wrong; otherwise, it was intentionally shown to me and then hidden away when I wanted to look," Liu Ru Yan analyzed. She truly shouldn't be unable to see anyone; the only possibility was that there was indeed someone in Li Meng's office who wanted Lan Ruo Yi to see them.
"Let's not dwell on it. If Wang Liling really has blood on her feet, we can find out tomorrow who is lying," Lan Ruo Yi thought for a moment and felt that Liu Ru Yan's reasoning made sense.
The entire villa was eerily quiet, while the third floor was bustling with activity.
