Lan Ruo Yi stopped the irritable Liu Ru Yan and gestured to Li Meng, "Meng Jie, you continue!"
"Wait, why are you stopping me? Didn't you hear what she said?" Liu Ru Yan silently yelled at Lan Ruo Yi in her heart. Lan Ruo Yi held her back, "Don't move yet. I feel like you two are not on the same page."
"It's not about whether I want to speak or not; I feel like Ru Yan could tear me apart at any moment." Li Meng really didn't expect that she hadn't even said anything yet and was already facing a life-threatening situation.

"Did you not encounter them last night?" Li Meng felt something was off; she remembered that people had been arranged for that night.
"You’re not talking about those two groups from that night, are you?" Liu Ru Yan suddenly recalled that they indeed encountered people that night, but it shouldn't be them, right?
Li Meng's eyes widened in disbelief; she hadn’t expected they had indeed encountered someone. But what kind of expression was that?
"Weren't you notified?" Lan Ruo Yi kindly reminded Li Meng.
"What?" Li Meng had no idea what was happening. At the time, she felt a bit overwhelmed and didn’t follow through.

Lan Ruo Yi was still pondering what she had just said about playing around, while Li Meng looked confused: "Playing around is just playing around! They just took you along to play with the kids. I've been invited before."

"Is that what you mean by 'playing around'? Playing with kids?" Liu Ru Yan still couldn't believe how wicked this sounded. Back then, Qin Peng and the others also said it was just playing!
"What else could it be?" Li Meng didn’t understand why they were asking like this and had no idea how strange her words sounded.
"There’s nothing else. Meng Jie, please continue," Liu Ru Yan chuckled, realizing she had overreacted and now adopting a surprisingly good attitude.
"The company agreed, so I found it a bit boring and didn’t follow through. You wanted to know about Sister Na, right? It's because they betrayed their original beliefs and caused Sister Na's death. This should interest you, right?"
After finishing her sentence, Li Meng raised an eyebrow at the two of them as if to say she knew everything they were doing and that they couldn’t hide anything from her.

"When exactly did this happen?" Lan Ruo Yi was eager to know the time.
Before Liu Ru Yan could ask further, Li Meng spoke up: "On the 26th, the day after Christmas."
Liu Ru Yan and Lan Ruo Yi had no concept of Christmas; they didn't celebrate it in ancient times. However, the date sent a chill down their spines.
"Are you sure?" Liu Ru Yan's expression turned serious.
Li Meng nodded and cautiously asked, "What's wrong with that date?" She was afraid she might have inadvertently mentioned a painful memory for them, given their intense reaction.
"Go on, don't stop," Lan Ruo Yi urged, still haunted by the implications.
Li Meng glanced at them to confirm they were okay before continuing: "You must have seen the blood on Wang Liling's shoes that night."
Lan Ruo Yi was surprised that Li Meng had noticed even that detail. She hesitated between nodding and shaking her head but ultimately chose to shake her head. She knew too much could lead to danger.
"That wasn't human blood, so don't worry. Our company isn't involved in anything as extreme as murder; after all, we live in a society governed by law."
"We were just repainting the walls at our company. There's an attic we wanted to freshen up for the new leadership, but it felt too stifling, so we didn't proceed."
Li Meng spoke calmly, seemingly oblivious to the distress her words might cause the two of them.
"I called you here to tell you not to trust anyone in the company, including me! This place is far more complicated than you think."
Liu Ru Yan and Lan Ruo Yi exchanged glances: "Huh?"
"So after saying all that, you're telling us not to trust anyone? Are you joking?"
"Damn it, this person is really twisted!" Liu Ru Yan couldn't take it anymore and rolled her eyes at Li Meng in disbelief.
Li Meng chuckled lightly and continued, "But I'm leaving soon, and there are some things you can believe. Just remember not to trust every single word anyone in the company says—keep that in mind!"
