Liu Ru Yan decided not to dwell on the matter any longer; feelings would eventually reveal the truth in the end. What was most important now was to understand what was happening with her body.
"Can I see my test results?" Liu Ru Yan asked, her enchanting eyes fixed on Lan Ruo Yi.
Lan Ruo Yi immediately surrendered and nodded. She found it hard to refuse Liu Ru Yan, especially since she was so charming and adorable—who wouldn't like her?
"Here, take it." Lan Ruo Yi pulled out the results from the hospital and handed them to Liu Ru Yan, who accepted them without hesitation.
Bending down, Liu Ru Yan began to analyze the data about her body word by word. Lan Ruo Yi watched in shock and asked, "A Yan, do you know medicine?"
Liu Ru Yan paused, her gaze still on the data. Slowly, she looked up at Lan Ruo Yi and replied, "I don’t know. It seems like I just suddenly understood it."
"Are you serious? You’re saying that you had a fever and it opened your mind?" Lan Ruo Yi crossed her arms around her waist and propped her chin up, looking at Liu Ru Yan with curiosity.
Liu Ru Yan nodded in a daze. "It seems that way!"
"People can really be infuriating. So if I just lie down and do nothing, will you be fine?"
Lan Ruo Yi didn’t expect such a response. Some people worked hard their entire lives but still couldn’t catch up to someone who suddenly became enlightened.
"Hahaha, don’t joke! I don’t believe you can really lie down and do nothing. Who are you? You’re the queen of competition; you can’t just lie flat!"
"I’m not joking! I really want to lie down. Just think about how happy I would be if I could!"
As she spoke, Lan Ruo Yi lay down beside Liu Ru Yan. Liu Ru Yan smiled at the sight of Lan Ruo Yi like this: "There’s a saying that goes well—when the leader says to do something, just follow along without asking how!"
Regardless of how things turned out for them, they should first take action.
Liu Ru Yan understood Lan Ruo Yi’s current mindset. Lan Ruo Yi was caught in a state of anxiety—not because Liu Ru Yan could read medical data now, but because after suddenly acquiring this skill, what did fate want her to do?
This time it was a fever; what about next time? And the time after that? Would she fall into a vicious cycle?
"You’ve learned something new; how’s your body data looking?" Lan Ruo Yi didn’t say much, resting her hands behind her head and closing her eyes.
Liu Ru Yan spoke slowly, "I didn’t see any problems; it might just be coincidental." After saying this, she noticed that Lan Ruo Yi's breathing had already calmed down.
She smiled slightly; after returning yesterday, she had slept through the night and wasn’t tired yet. Meanwhile, Lan Ruo Yi had indeed taken care of her diligently all night long.
Lan Ruo Yi was afraid that Liu Ru Yan would suddenly fall back into that state of needing words to save her again. Although she had woken up for a while in between, she fell asleep again upon returning. Lan Ruo Yi felt she couldn’t let her guard down.
Hearing Liu Ru Yan's soothing voice brought a sense of comfort, allowing her to drift off to sleep. Liu Ru Yan noticed the dark circles under her eyes.
After a while, there was a knock at the door. Liu Ru Yan felt that her body no longer ached, so she got up to open it, revealing Mo Wan, who stood at the entrance with a tense expression.
Mo Wan was surprised to see Liu Ru Yan opening the door. He leaned in to glance inside and saw Lan Ruo Yi sleeping peacefully. Then he looked back at the frail Liu Ru Yan standing before him. Suddenly, he bent down and scooped her up in a princess carry. Liu Ru Yan was taken aback and immediately tried to wriggle free, but with Lan Ruo Yi asleep, she didn’t dare raise her voice.
Frustrated, she lightly punched Mo Wan's shoulder and whispered angrily, "What are you doing? Put me down!"
"Don't say anything; Yi Yi is moving!" Mo Wan replied.
Liu Ru Yan was startled into stillness by his words. Lan Ruo Yi had a particularly light sleep and could wake easily. As she lay in Mo Wan's arms, she turned her head slightly and saw Lan Ruo Yi shifting in her sleep.
Fear gripped her, and she froze, her eyes urging Mo Wan to leave quickly. Unlike Liu Yuchuan, Mo Wan didn’t continue teasing Liu Ru Yan; instead, he gently closed the door to Lan Ruo Yi's room and carried her to the sofa in the living room on the second floor.
"Thank you; just leave me here," Liu Ru Yan said. Mo Wan complied without questioning why she didn’t want to be taken back to her room, mainly because as a man, he felt it inappropriate to enter a girl's room.
"No, Yi Yi didn’t sleep last night; she just watched over you. It’s good for her to get some rest," Mo Wan explained.
Liu Ru Yan felt an inexplicable pang of concern at his words: "How do you know she didn’t sleep? Were you there?"
Realizing how foolish her question sounded—of course he was there—she felt an urge to pry into something deeper.
Mo Wan hesitated before lowering his gaze. "I didn’t sleep either."
Liu Ru Yan was taken aback, feeling an unexpected flutter of anxiety. "Why… why didn’t you sleep?"
She struggled to articulate this feeling; perhaps it was the first time she sensed being cared for outside of Lan Ruo Yi? It could be that she felt touched by his words—though it seemed silly to be moved by a man’s concern.
