"Mom, what has Dad been through?" Liu Ru Yan still couldn't understand why he would enjoy cooking. Wasn't this better than most men out there?

Chen Fu smiled and said, "Do you remember when you first left?"

In the kitchen, Liu Wumai heard this praise and worked even harder. "What? How did you know my daughter thinks I'm great?" He boasted to Liu Yuchuan on his left, who was confused about what was happening with his brother.
Mo Daowan listened and wanted some praise too, so he put in even more effort.
Suddenly, the noise outside stopped. He glanced over and saw that the person sitting on the sofa had fallen asleep at some point.
Lan Ruo Yi half-hugged Liu Ru Yan while Chen Fu looked at the scene with gentle eyes.
When the sunlight filled the earth, it felt as if divine love was showering down on humanity.
"Is she tired? Yi Yi, don’t hold her anymore; you might tire yourself out," Chen Fu said as he watched his daughter holding onto Lan Ruo Yi. Although the scene was warm, he worried it might exhaust Yi Yi.
"I'm fine, Auntie! I'm not tired," Lan Ruo Yi quickly replied as she noticed Chen Fu was about to get up to help move Liu Ru Yan away.
It wasn’t for any other reason; she sensed that Liu Ru Yan wasn’t truly asleep—she felt uneasy and trembled slightly.
Only by holding onto Lan Ruo Yi could the symptoms ease. Once Liu Wumai and the others finished cooking, they saw Lan Ruo Yi embracing Liu Ru Yan while looking at her phone. Chen Fu pretended to doze off nearby.
Liu Wumai instinctively lowered his voice, "Dear, it's time to eat!"
Chen Fu opened her sleepy eyes and glanced at Liu Wumai, nodding in acknowledgment. Upon hearing this, Lan Ruo Yi put down her phone and gently patted Liu Ru Yan's back, as if trying to soothe her.
"A Yan, wake up, it's time to eat."
Liu Ru Yan opened her eyes, feeling as if she had survived a disaster; her sleep had been restless. Chen Fu felt a pang of sympathy; she could see her daughter’s dependence on Lan Ruo Yi and was pondering what circumstances had led to this.
During the meal, Chen Fu and Liu Wumai focused on serving Liu Ru Yan dishes. She ate everything they offered; it was love. The meal was filled with joy, and Liu Ru Yan didn’t dwell on what had just happened—she preferred not to remember it.
After finishing their meal, Liu Wumai and Chen Fu prepared to leave without lingering. They only had this moment to visit their daughter. Work didn’t allow them to stay long, and they had to be discreet about their visit.
“Alright, no need to see us off,” Liu Ru Yan said as she and Lan Ruo Yi supported Chen Fu on either side. She had a good impression of her mother and a decent one of her father too.
Chen Fu smiled at Liu Ru Yan and Lan Ruo Yi, “Mommy and Daddy have to go now; we’ll come back next time.”
Liu Ru Yan pouted slightly, “Can’t you stay just one night?”
Liu Wumai looked at Chen Fu too; he wanted to spend more time with his daughter as well. Leaving so soon felt reluctant.
“Really can’t!” Chen Fu wanted to stay but looked sternly at Liu Wumai. She knew what he was thinking and reminded him of their situation. If they were discovered, how dangerous would it be for Liu Ru Yan? Did she need to spell it out?
Liu Wumai clearly considered this but still made a decision.
“Yes, sweetheart, Mommy and Daddy have to go. Take care of yourself, okay? If you need anything, let your uncle handle it. You’re so grown up now; I don’t know how you’ve managed all this time.”
Liu Wumai was still advising Liu Ru Yan when he suddenly started nagging about Liu Yuchuan.
Liu Yuchuan had been feeling a bit melancholic when he suddenly heard his name mentioned again.
Liu Yuchuan looked around in confusion. "Huh? Is there still something of mine here?"
The others couldn't help but laugh at Liu Yuchuan's sudden bewilderment, even Lan Ruo Yi was laughing so hard that tears streamed down her face.
