"You are too presumptuous!"
Lan Ruo Yi never expected that communicating with this person would be so difficult, especially with the other party wearing a self-satisfied expression. What on earth did she understand? Ignoring Juan's obstruction, she resolutely dragged her chair back to her workstation.
Zhang Baofeng gave Juan a thumbs up upon seeing this: "You're impressive as always!"
Juan smiled and replied, "You think you can compete with me? Let me show you why flowers bloom so beautifully!"
"That's terrifying, absolutely terrifying," Lan Yue Liang exclaimed.
Liu Xia Sui looked puzzled: "??? Where have you been? Why are you ignoring me? What's so terrifying?"
Lan Ruo Yi was still recovering from the shock of her earlier thoughts.
"You can't imagine what Juan just said!!! Ahhh, I'm going crazy!" Lan Yue Liang continued.
Upon reading this, Liu Ru Yan became interested. She sat up and grabbed some sunflower seeds from the side. Calmly typing, she asked: "Do tell."
"Juan said I like Tian Luo!" Lan Yue Liang revealed.
Liu Ru Yan's eyes widened in surprise: "Whoa!"
Liu Xia Sui chimed in: "Whoa whoa whoa? When did this happen?"
Lan Ruo Yi paused her typing, unsure whether to continue. Was there some truth to this statement?
"Not this time!" Lan Yue Liang quickly clarified.
Liu Ru Yan's eyes dimmed instantly; she hadn't expected to miss out on the gossip.
Seeing that there was no reaction from them, Lan Ruo Yi resumed her own topic of conversation.
"I just asked where Tian Luo went earlier, and Juan grabbed me, raising her eyebrows and asking why I was concerned about him! Ahhh!"
Lan Ruo Yi couldn't believe she had become part of such news; it felt absurdly amusing.
Liu Ru Yan spat out sunflower seed shells in disbelief.
Her small actions caught Liu Yuchuan's attention.
Liu Yuchuan hadn’t gone to the office today; he was at home accompanying the young lady for work.
"Do you have lice?" Liu Ru Yan thought to herself, sitting up and fidgeting, occasionally munching on sunflower seeds. She was contemplating whether or not to go to work. It wasn't that she loved her job; rather, she felt it was her responsibility to be present in this situation.
Her uncle, after all, needed something from her, and his words were rather flattering. Liu Yuchuan instinctively sensed something was off; he felt a sense of unease and watched Liu Ru Yan warily. "Let's talk this out nicely, don’t pull any tricks on me."
Liu Ru Yan kept her hands busy, intertwining her fingers and spinning them around. "So, can I... this afternoon?"
"No," Liu Yuchuan replied immediately, knowing exactly what she intended. But that was out of the question. The thought of being flayed alive was too terrifying.
Liu Ru Yan didn't expect to be turned down so quickly. While she understood the rejection, she still had her own thoughts brewing. She pouted slightly, aware that what she was doing wasn't right but feeling powerless to stop herself. "I'm sorry, Uncle."
Seeing her so obedient made Liu Yuchuan a bit uncomfortable; it sent a chill down his spine. However, the domineering CEO always maintained his confidence in such matters.
Liu Ru Yan went upstairs under the pretense of taking a nap. Noticing her drowsiness, Liu Yuchuan didn’t object but reminded her to rest well—eat if she was hungry and drink if she was thirsty.
Liu Ru Yan obediently agreed, but the next moment, she knew why she had been so compliant. She took out her phone to contact Mo Wan.
When Mo Wan received the call, he was somewhat surprised. Before he could speak, he heard Liu Ru Yan on the other end starting to act coyly. "Brother, are you busy?" Her voice was sweet and soft.
Mo Wan felt a jolt in his ears at first, followed by an indescribable sense of disgust. He struggled to maintain his composure and asked with difficulty, "What is it?"
"Can you call my uncle and ask him out?" Liu Ru Yan quickly clarified her request.
Mo Wan replied, "??? Why should I invite your uncle?"
"Are you going out?" Mo Wan almost instantly guessed her intention.
"Are you going to stop me too?" Liu Ru Yan's voice carried a hint of sadness.
It seemed as if everyone was trying to hinder her for some unknown reason. If Mo Wan could see Liu Ru Yan's expression, she would know that there was no trace of sadness on her face. But Mo Wan couldn't see it. Hearing such a sorrowful tone made her uncomfortable, so she said, "How about this? I'll have Tu Nan contact him, and I'll go with you!"
Liu Ru Yan responded, "??? Why are you coming with me? I'm not going to steal a man." She thought about how to phrase it more delicately, but really, there was no need for subtlety; she was just going to work.
"You want to come with me to work?" After saying that, Liu Ru Yan fell silent. What was that about?
Mo Wan hadn't expected Liu Ru Yan was going to work; she thought she wanted to go out for fun. "Ahem, you're going to work? Then I'll contact your uncle. Just take care of yourself and let Yi Yi know."
"Oh."
After that, neither of them seemed inclined to hang up. The sound of their breathing filled the silence until Liu Ru Yan broke it first: "Thank you, you can contact my uncle."
"Okay, bye."
Before Mo Wan could say anything else, the call ended abruptly. She looked at her phone and resignedly dialed Liu Yuchuan's number.
"Hello, Uncle."
Liu Yuchuan glanced at the name on his phone and chuckled at the way she addressed him: "Have you gotten addicted to calling me that?"
Mo Wan replied, "I just said it out of habit; I was just calling your niece 'uncle' a moment ago."
"Let's arrange a meeting soon. I have something you want," Mo Wan said, which was indeed true; she had intended to discuss it with Liu Yuchuan later that evening. But since Liu Ru Yan had already made the call, now was as good a time as any.
Liu Yuchuan frowned slightly: "Now?"
What? Are you busy?
