"Are you trying to compete with me over who has contributed more to her?" Mo Daowan asked, puzzled, looking at Liu Yuchuan. He even wondered if Liu Yuchuan had some feelings for Li Meng. Why was he thinking about this now?
Liu Yuchuan was taken aback; he really didn't mean to compete with Mo Daowan. It was just that both of them had put in similar efforts, so why was he unaware of it?
"I didn't mean that," Liu Yuchuan quickly explained. His mind had been so clouded by love lately that he subconsciously felt they were on the same page.
Why was he oblivious to this information?
"Oh, no need to explain; I understand!" Mo Daowan replied, not wanting to say anything further. He wasn't sure what else to add. However, his teasing demeanor made Liu Yuchuan feel uncomfortable.
Anyway, it probably wasn't a big deal; whatever, no need for explanations.
"Did Li Meng say something?" Liu Yuchuan immediately inquired, his hurried tone revealing that he didn't want to discuss the topic any longer.
"Mm," Mo Daowan replied coldly.
"But from what I know, their relationship isn't simple, right?" Liu Yuchuan remarked. He was aware that Li Meng's connection with Tian Luo was complicated and involved romantic feelings.
This matter was quite intriguing. Initially, Li Meng hadn't hidden her feelings from everyone; she openly expressed her affection for Tian Luo. Although he didn't know what happened afterward, it was clear that there had been a relationship.
"I know, so I didn't believe her words. Later, I found out that they were often seen together nearby. I thought it might just be a coincidence. But can it really be a coincidence every time?"
As the president of a company, Mo Daowan might have been naive in the past, but he was certainly not foolish. Moreover, after going through several trials, how could he still be innocent?
"Interesting; this is getting more and more interesting," Liu Yuchuan said as he leaned back in his chair, raising his hands in front of him.
Everything was too intriguing and very complicated.
"So how do you think we should handle this?" Mo Daowan asked, wanting to hear Liu Yuchuan's thoughts this time.
Liu Yuchuan certainly wouldn't let him off easily: "Just like before. If they want to keep it a secret, then let them expose themselves. After all, we live in an age of media."
"Yes, in this media age, everything updates and changes too quickly for anyone to notice these things. Yet they are meddling in it."
Then this matter will be completely exposed.
The conversation left both of them feeling somewhat quiet.
Upon returning to Liu Ru Yan's home, Liu Ru Yan and Lan Ruo Yi had already arrived. They had eagerly asked the aunt to prepare dinner, although they hadn’t consulted the two about it.
"Uncle, you’re back!" Liu Ru Yan and Lan Ruo Yi were setting the table when they saw the two enter, their demeanor somewhat flattering, especially towards Liu Yuchuan.
Taking advantage of Liu Yuchuan's momentary distraction, Liu Ru Yan winked at Mo Daowan behind her. The worries that had weighed heavily on Mo Daowan seemed to dissipate like smoke.
Seeing her playful state was reminiscent of the past, as if it could melt away all unhappy thoughts.
"Oh, Miss Liu, what kind of guilty conscience do you have?" Liu Yuchuan pretended not to know she had gone out.
Liu Ru Yan felt a bit guilty; how could she explain? She couldn’t admit anything, so she just smiled and said nothing.
Lan Ruo Yi, observing the two, cleverly chimed in, "Uncle and Brother are back? Hurry up and wash your hands for dinner."
Liu Yuchuan couldn’t really get angry at Liu Ru Yan; knowing what he did now only made him want to look at her more.
"Wow, such a lavish dinner tonight! What’s the occasion?" Mo Daowan asked, noticing that the table was filled with dishes that the two ladies liked.
"Hehe, it’s almost my birthday, so we’re celebrating a bit early. Yi Yi and I might not celebrate together; I can’t handle it," Liu Ru Yan replied honestly. With her birthday approaching and Li Meng having left, the dark cloud looming over them was about to descend again.
So they decided to celebrate in advance to prevent any issues later on. Although Lan Ruo Yi thought it would be fine to celebrate once everything passed safely, she couldn’t resist Liu Ru Yan’s pleading gaze.
Her eyes were too captivating to ignore, and the aunt also thought an early celebration was a good idea. After all, starting from tomorrow, Liu Ru Yan would have to eat nutritious meals; although this dinner was lavish, it was indeed very nutritious upon closer inspection.
Mo Daowan raised an eyebrow, unsure whether to believe it or not; anyway, Liu Yuchuan didn’t seem convinced. He still looked somewhat unhappy, though he couldn’t pinpoint why.
Taking advantage of Lan Ruo Yi and Mo Daowan heading to the dining table, Liu Ru Yan quietly slipped away towards Liu Yuchuan.
"Uncle, do you know?"
Liu Ru Yan felt that it was her fault that he was unhappy. After washing his hands, Liu Yuchuan turned to look at her standing behind him.
With a face full of guilt, Liu Ru Yan found it hard to describe the fear in her heart. She was indeed scared, but she hoped that Xiao Yan could always be happy. She didn’t want her to know about these things, nor did she want her to remember the past; otherwise, she would no longer be happy.
You always do this, thinking everything is safe. How could I possibly be angry because of you? Liu Yuchuan pretended to be indifferent.
