"Then please answer my question," Jiang Chen said, staring at the old man with a calm gaze that carried an undeniable authority.
"Alright, it won't hurt to share these matters with you," Jon Delson replied.
For the next while, it was mostly the old man speaking while Jiang Chen listened. The old man was somewhat frail, so his voice was slow and soft.
He began by recounting the story of the Immortal Dragon Seal. This Immortal Dragon Seal had changed hands and eventually ended up in the possession of the Delson Family a century ago. It resembled what was described in ancient texts—a square seal adorned with a dragon. However, being a divine artifact, it possessed unique qualities. It shone with a golden hue and emitted a faint golden light in the dark. Most astonishingly, it sometimes produced the sound of a dragon's roar.
Such a mysterious object was regarded as a treasure by the Delson Family. They had long sought to uncover the secrets of the Immortal Dragon Seal. Strangely enough, after acquiring it, members of the Delson Family began to fall ill frequently. Eventually, a seer informed them that they were cursed by the evil forces within the Immortal Dragon Seal and that to break this curse, they must cast it into the depths of the sea.
Although the Delson Family believed the seer's words, they did not heed them. After all, the Immortal Dragon Seal was an extraordinary treasure they had worked hard to obtain; how could they simply discard it?
Years later, one night within the Delson Family's ancient castle, a dragon's roar echoed through the halls. The sound startled those who were asleep, including the now-adult Jon Delson.
The Elder Patriarch of the Delson Family was familiar with such roars; in the past, the Immortal Dragon Seal would occasionally emit them. He thought this roar would soon cease, but this time it grew louder and more intense.
Sensing something amiss, the Elder Patriarch recalled that since the seer had declared the Immortal Dragon Seal to be an ominous object years ago, they had sealed it away in a hidden chamber within the castle and had even asked a mage to place seals on it to contain its evil powers. For many years, everything had been peaceful; people seemed to forget about the Immortal Dragon Seal, and no unusual incidents occurred among the Delson Family. However, tonight's roar was different—it carried a chilling and resentful tone.
The Elder Patriarch quickly led others to check on the hidden chamber. Inside, on an altar adorned with seals, lay the Immortal Dragon Seal securely contained.
Normally, it would emit a faint golden light, but now dark energy surged from it like living smoke, crashing against its seals repeatedly.
Witnesses were left dumbfounded by this scene. For Jon Delson, this was his first time seeing the Immortal Dragon Seal up close, and this encounter would forever change his life.
Ultimately, that dark energy broke free from its confines and transformed into a black dragon hovering in mid-air. The guards of the Delson Family attempted to subdue it, but any contact with that dark energy resulted in their demise.
The members of the Delson Family were terrified. In the end, that dark energy hovered above them, surveying everyone present. They deeply regretted not heeding the seer's warning when they had the chance.
