Suddenly, the submarine's spotlight illuminated a menacing dragon head. This dragon head was enormous, as large as a locomotive, and most strikingly, it had eyes wide open—lantern-like and blood-red, exuding a chilling glow under the spotlight.
As the screen displayed the dragon head, Ronnie and the old man were startled, causing the submarine to sway due to its temporary loss of control. Ronnie quickly steadied the submarine but hesitated to direct the spotlight at the dragon head.
"Point the light at the dragon head, don’t hesitate!" Jiang Chen commanded.
Ronnie glanced at Jiang Chen and, seeing his calm demeanor, felt a surge of anxiety but complied without protest; there was no other choice.
The light fell upon the dragon head once more. It stood still like a statue, its eyes open yet seemingly devoid of spirit. Just as Ronnie and the old man were secretly relieved, the dragon head moved slightly. Its blood-red eyes clearly focused on the submarine, showing its displeasure at this unfamiliar intrusion.
However, it seemed that this black dragon recognized the submarine. Though dissatisfied, it refrained from any aggressive action.
"What are you doing here instead of helping us lift the seal? Are you seeking death?" The black dragon suddenly spoke in ancient Huaxia language. Although it differed slightly from modern Huaxia language, they could understand it well enough.
Upon hearing the black dragon speak, both the old man and Ronnie were left speechless, only able to look at Jiang Chen for guidance.
Jiang Chen ignored their panic and slowly replied, "I’m here to borrow the Immortal Dragon Seal for a while. I hope you of the Undying Dragon Clan can accommodate me; I will return it once I’m done."
Jiang Chen's words were quite polite; however, to him, the Immortal Dragon Seal held little significance. The Seven Divine Artifacts were all similar in purpose. He sought them merely to unlock the Mountain and Sea Secret Realm.
Yet while Jiang Chen was courteous, the Undying Dragon Clan did not share his sentiment. Upon hearing that he had come for the Immortal Dragon Seal, the black dragon’s expression grew even more sinister.
"You have quite a bit of nerve to come here asking for the Immortal Dragon Seal. Aren't you afraid of death?" The black dragon growled angrily.
"Of course I'm afraid of death, but I'm not afraid of you. You can't kill me. The Immortal Dragon Seal must be borrowed—whether you want to or not," Jiang Chen replied calmly, his voice steady yet resonating through the depths of the ocean.
Hearing Jiang Chen speak so boldly to the black dragon left both the old man and Ronnie terrified. They gestured frantically at Jiang Chen, urging him to control his emotions and not provoke this fearsome creature.
However, Jiang Chen paid them no mind and continued, "You of the Undying Dragon Clan have no room for negotiation."
The old man and Ronnie were drenched in cold sweat, their minds racing with panic. Shouldn't it be us who have no choice? This is Undying Dragon Clan territory! No matter how powerful we are, we are still mere mortals—fragile beings compared to these dragons that possess immortal bodies spanning millennia. Our small frames are no match for even one of their claws; challenging them is akin to courting death!
Could it be that Jiang Chen truly believes that just because the Undying Dragon Clan is sealed away now means they cannot deal with him? There’s an old saying in Huaxia: "A dead camel is still bigger than a horse."
The black dragon paused momentarily upon hearing Jiang Chen's words before an unmistakable look of disdain flickered in its eyes.
"You mere mortal have quite a big mouth! Do you think just because my Undying Dragon Clan is suppressed in this Underwater Abyss that I cannot handle you?" The black dragon sneered coldly.
