In the realm of consciousness, Lu Fei Fan perceived a faint glow enveloping him amidst the chaos. A soft, comforting pressure gradually compressed him, while his internal organs, shaken by Bian Jian's strike, were in turmoil as the chaotic energy vibrated and stirred his Pulse Energy.
Initially, he mobilized all his Pulse Energy to resist the violent influx of powerful Pulse Energy. Bian Jian's Pulse Energy surged like a domineering torrent, obliterating the carefully constructed channels Lu Fei Fan had built over time. As his body's Pulse Energy cells fought against this overwhelming external force, many fell in sacrifice.
Just as despair loomed near, a beam of light gently pulled him downwards.
Yang Lao watched as Lu Fei Fan sank into the shimmering silver pool. This water was no ordinary substance; he had previously trained two octopuses in it, only for both to be tortured to death by the seemingly sentient water.
He could only take a gamble, with no certainty that Lu Fei Fan could survive in this enigmatic pool. Yet his intuition urged him to take the plunge.
Boom!
Outside, explosions continued to rock the area, while the rotating Floating Stone Formation tirelessly replenished the lost stones.
Bai Ling and Hei Ling, the twin sisters, stood at the cave entrance, glancing at the swirling Floating Stone Formation and exchanging worried looks.
After a while, a loud bang echoed from within the cave!
Bai Ling and Hei Ling exchanged glances before moving closer to investigate. They found Bian Jian facing away from them, holding the radiant Chuan Xing Jian as he stared at the water layer suspended against the cave ceiling, mumbling incomprehensible words.
"So that's how it is... The principle of repulsion combined with an absorbing pulse array forms the Floating Stone Formation... But this energy consumption is astonishing. Where does he get such immense energy to operate this formation? Could it be a diversion cycle?"
With that thought, he plunged his sword into the ground again with a resounding crash!
The violent Pulse Energy caused the ground to erupt into countless fragments, yet he appeared invigorated. Beneath the shattered stones lay something glimmering like gold!
"What is this!" Bian Jian's eyes widened in surprise; even without words, his expression revealed his shock at what was uncovered beneath the broken ground.
"The Golden Skeleton!"
Bian Jian exclaimed in astonishment.
Bai Ling and Hei Ling exchanged a bewildered glance before turning their attention to Bian Jian.
With his back to the two sisters, Bian Jian seemed to be muttering an explanation, either intentionally or unintentionally.
"Any Ocean beast, when its Pulse Energy is refined and evolved to the lord level, has flesh and blood that are rich in Pulse Energy. Eating a piece can cause a strong individual to surge in cultivation. Their bones will evolve into Golden Skeletons, which not only can be crafted into the most durable Tactical Vests but also into powerful weapons. Such materials are priceless on the market..."
As he spoke, Bian Jian pried open a larger gap in the ground. The more he dug, the more he discovered; the bone buried underground was astonishingly large. He had already excavated a pit with a diameter of one meter, yet the Golden Skeleton remained largely concealed.
Standing nearby and gazing at the massive Golden Skeleton, Bian Jian looked at his position and then raised his head to look into the distance, towards the Floating Stone Formation. It seemed he had come to a realization.
"No wonder this is the Tomb of the Giant Whale! I underestimated you too much," Bian Jian exclaimed as he suddenly understood. He then walked towards the Floating Stone Formation, with Hei Ling and Bai Ling following closely behind.
He surveyed his surroundings and looked up at the cave ceiling before issuing an order.
"Blow this place up!" Bian Jian commanded, turning away slightly as he let his soldiers carry out the order.
The Armored Soldiers, under their captain's leadership, decisively executed the command.
Afterwards, they evacuated, and an explosion shook the cave, causing numerous rocks to fall.
Meanwhile, Yang Lao was anxiously waiting by the pool inside, feeling restless. After all, they were facing a great enemy, and all their hopes rested on Lu Fei Fan.
However, after Lu Fei Fan submerged in the water, there was no response; the pool remained calm as if nothing had happened. Just as Yang Lao contemplated whether to check on him, he suddenly saw the water in the pool churning violently as if boiling. It began to steam intensely until it seemed alive; Lu Fei Fan burst forth from the water with arms outstretched!
Yang Lao was startled by this sight but noticed that Lu Fei Fan still had his eyes closed and was unresponsive. The water in the pool quickly propelled him upward like a living water curtain wrapping around him. It appeared as though a transparent veil of water enveloped Lu Fei Fan, slowly beginning to spin while the water below also started swirling.
This was a miraculous phenomenon that Yang Lao had never witnessed before.
What astonished him even more was that layers of Pulse Energy continuously surged through the water currents, washing over Lu Fei Fan. With each wash, his body seemed to become more translucent and polished.
Unaware of how this magical pool was transforming him while he slept, Lu Fei Fan felt only that the violent Pulse Energy flooding into his body was being swept away like a sudden tide. It calmed his chaotic and nearly collapsing Pulse Energy nerve cells completely. Moreover, he sensed warm energy continuously repairing his body and healing his damaged organs.
But this was not the end; it was merely the beginning. He felt his body undergoing a profound transformation. If the energy he had previously stored was just a chaotic void, now it had been completely reshaped into a true universe capable of containing countless stars and suns, vast enough that Lu Fei Fan felt insignificant within it.
However, having only an empty shell without enough Pulse Energy to fill and illuminate this cosmic expanse was futile.
Lu Fei Fan felt a wave of frustration wash over him. How long would it take for him to cultivate to such heights? In the past, he had been like a fish in a river gazing at the lotus, yearning for the river to flow into the sea. Only by comparing himself did he realize there were layers upon layers of existence above him.
This was the law of existence in this world; with every existence, there must be something greater to accommodate it.
As Lu Fei Fan slept, he was unaware that the Floating Stone Formation was also undergoing changes. Suddenly, there was a loud crack!
It sounded as if something had shattered. Bian Jian withdrew his sword from the cave above, where a Golden Skeleton, half a meter thick, had been struck by his sword. The Pulse Energy spread through the bone like black poison, consuming much of its own Pulse Energy, causing his sword to dim.
Because this segment of bone had been infused with Pulse Energy by Bian Jian, the rotating Floating Stone Formation began to slow down. However, the Floating Stones remained motionless and did not return to their previous vertical alignment.
Bian Jian paid no mind to this; he strode forward with Hei Ling and Bai Ling, while the Armored Soldiers followed suit.
Yang Lao had long been watching this scene from the cave entrance. He knew Lu Fei Fan needed more time; he had to find a way to buy some time for him.
He grabbed the floating disk he had activated earlier on his left side and spun it!
The stones of the Floating Stone Formation suddenly began to sway uncontrollably. One stone fell, and Bian Jian quickly looked up. He raised his sword and split the stone in two with a fierce shout: “Full speed ahead!”
Bai Ling and Hei Ling swiftly entered combat mode. Bai Ling wielded her Long Axe with precision, shattering the falling Floating Stones mid-air. Meanwhile, Bai Ling's long hair flowed as her nimble hands transformed into two Energy Hand Cannons, constantly dodging and firing at the descending stones.
The two sisters worked together to protect each other while the Four Symbols Guard advanced in coordination. This seven-member team pressed forward with Bian Jian leading like a sharp sword thrusting ahead.
However, behind them, more than a dozen Armored Warriors lacked the agility of their frontline counterparts. They continuously raised their energy weapons to shoot at the falling Floating Stones. With varying sizes crashing down relentlessly, even a slight misstep could result in being crushed under a massive rock.
Bian Jian pushed himself forward with all his might. He couldn't afford to worry about his subordinates and soldiers behind him; the sheer number of falling Floating Stones made his scalp tingle with fear. Earlier, he had used most of his own Pulse Energy to seal off that segment of Golden Skeleton from transmitting Pulse Energy. Watching as more stones fell endlessly from above, he knew that if they exceeded his capacity to evade them, he would have no choice but to dodge or retreat while coordinating with Bai Ling and Hei Ling to shatter them.
In just a short stretch of winding mountain path, countless Luo Shi rained down like an avalanche, crashing down with thunderous roars amidst swirling dust—like an apocalypse unfolding before their eyes.
At first, the screams from behind could still be heard, but gradually, aside from the sounds of cannon fire from a few nearby survivors or the clashing of weapons, there was nothing. It was clear that the elite soldiers who had followed him for many years had likely been wiped out.
Thinking of this, Bian Jian felt a surge of rage ignite within him. These were his carefully nurtured elite soldiers, and now they were all dead. In his despair, he could not hold back any longer. At nearly fifty meters away, he unleashed his Pulse Energy, shooting forward like a swift arrow toward the cave entrance, thrusting his sword at Yang Lao!
Yang Lao seemed to have sensed him long before; he smiled and waited patiently. Bian Jian suddenly felt something was off. He looked down and saw that Yang Lao was holding a massive-caliber Revolver Energy Pistol!
"Long time no see!" Yang Lao said as he pulled the trigger.
Bang!
The large-caliber Energy Bullet erupted from the chamber, whistling toward Bian Jian!
Bian Jian quickly raised his sword to block!
Clang!
The impact sent Bian Jian staggering back a few steps. Bai Ling raised her Hand Cannon, but Yang Lao swiftly dodged, and the cannonball exploded against the wall, creating a large crater. Afterward, Yang Lao was quickly pulled inside by A Ba.
"Kill them!" Bian Jian commanded.
The Four Symbols Guard, who had rushed out with the Floating Stone Formation to the cave entrance, snapped back to their senses and drew their long curved Zhan Dao as they charged into the cave.
However, Yang Lao was already prepared. He raised his gun and aimed at a pile of Energy Grenades placed near the cave entrance and fired.
Boom!
A massive explosion sent two of the Four Symbols Guard flying backward, crashing against the wall with uncertain fates.
Yang Lao raised his gun again and opened fire on the remaining Four Symbols Guard—bang bang—
The bullets struck the Four Symbols Guard, knocking them back but failing to deliver fatal blows, showcasing the exceptional quality of their Fighting Armor.
Yang Lao fired at the entrance where Bai Ling and Hei Ling had just entered. Bang, bang! The bullets were deflected by Hei Ling's Battle Axe. Behind them, Bian Jian stepped in, coldly staring at Yang Lao.
Tap, tap. Yang Lao pulled the trigger a few times, but the sound of empty chambers left him feeling quite helpless. He tossed aside Lu Fei Fan's Lie Hound; he had done his best to buy time, and now it was up to fate.
Bian Jian glanced at Yang Lao but was immediately drawn to the White Cocoon behind him!
In the water pool, countless white threads covered the ground, leading to a cocoon that stood three to four meters tall and over two meters in radius. Its terrifying shape occasionally shimmered with the radiant flow of Pulse Energy.
Could this Giant Cocoon be…?
Thump—
Like the heartbeat of a colossal beast, a pulsating sound emanated from within the Giant Cocoon!
Bian Jian's expression changed dramatically!
