The impact was like a heavy blow, crashing into a tree with the force of a cannonball, shattering it to pieces!
Yet, Bian Jian did not falter. After all, he was the War God of the Free Federation!
He leaped up from the rubble once more, tearing off his tattered shirt to reveal a robust torso. Though aged, his physique looked no different from that of a strong man in his prime—perhaps even more formidable. Notably, he had a strange box hanging at his waist.
“Good, good, good!” he shouted frantically as he hovered in the air, glaring at Lu Fei Fan.
How could a War God like him be easily defeated by a young man of General rank? No, wait… what’s going on with this Pulse Energy?
Lu Fei Fan's Pulse Energy surged upward, directly breaking through the War God Realm, matching him blow for blow!
For a moment, Bian Jian fell silent, losing some of his momentum. Just moments ago, Lu Fei Fan's Whale Devouring Sword had shattered one of his attacks and left him in a sorry state. Clearly, he had underestimated him; he could no longer afford to be careless.
“I underestimated you,” Bian Jian squinted as he reassessed Lu Fei Fan. He thrust his sword again, creating afterimages as Lu Fei Fan dodged left and right.
“Let’s see how you handle this strike!” Bian Jian suddenly thrust his sword into the void, half of his arm and sword disappearing as if suspended in midair.
“Heart!” Yang Lao shouted loudly from behind Lu Fei Fan.
“Shattering Void Piercing Star Sword!” Lu Fei Fan recalled how he had been struck by this bizarre attack earlier and nearly met his end. If it hadn’t been for Yang Lao’s timely rescue, he would have surely perished.
Surrounding himself, Lu Fei Fan quickly constructed overlapping square shields that varied in layers. No matter from which direction Bian Jian attacked, he would hit these shields.
However, Bian Jian's strike still caught Lu Fei Fan off guard; the sword descended from above!
Clang! Clang—
The shield hastily erected above him was pierced through and shattered instantly!
Lu Fei Fan raised his hand with a sword, and in the air, Bian Jian had already drawn his blade, leaving behind a distortion in the air that resembled ripples on the surface of a pond.
"Watch your back!" Yang Lao reminded once more.
The sword's body had only revealed half of itself in midair when Lu Fei Fan suddenly lifted it, but Bian Jian wore a strange smile.
"Hmph, too late!"
The sword that had emerged from midair once again pierced into the void and vanished, and Lu Fei Fan seemed to sense something was amiss!
"Watch your..." Yang Lao's words were abruptly cut off. A chill spread through his chest as warm blood began to flow from a sword that had appeared out of nowhere, piercing through his body. He looked down at the blade that had stabbed him from thin air!
Lu Fei Fan also turned sharply to look at Yang Lao, never expecting that Bian Jian's strike was aimed directly at him!
Sizzle—
The sword was withdrawn, gushing forth a torrent of blood.
Yang Lao let out a muffled groan and collapsed to the ground, blood quickly spreading across the floor.
Lu Fei Fan rushed to his side, pressing down on his wound with one hand. Pulse Energy rapidly froze the wound, but within the injury, if magnified, Bian Jian's brutal Pulse Energy was tearing apart everything inside him, destroying Yang Lao's already weak vitality.
This was the killing move that had made Bian Jian famous.
Yang Lao grasped Lu Fei Fan's clothing tightly and urgently instructed, "Help me... kill him. And also... Lian Chong Tang!"
With that, his grip loosened on Lu Fei Fan's clothing. He looked up at the dark sky and murmured, "What a pity... I won't get to see the blue..."
With those final words, his eyes turned cloudy and lifeless, vitality extinguished.
Lu Fei Fan's emotions were complex. Yang Lao had survived in that dark cave for over a decade, only to emerge and die without even seeing the sky.
Gently, Lu Fei Fan laid Yang Lao down and slowly closed his eyes, solemnly promising, "I will seek justice for you."
"Die!" A fierce wind rushed from behind as Chuan Xing Jian lunged at him again. Lu Fei Fan turned and swept his sword, a dazzling arc of light in his hand, crashing forward with a resounding thud!
Like a cannonball, Bian Jian was sent flying backward, crashing into the forest and kicking up a cloud of dust.
"Kill him!" A commanding voice echoed through the woods, startling countless birds into flight.
Three fully armed Four Symbols Guards burst forth from the trees, brandishing their long swords.
"Jian Kai!" Lu Fei Fan's long sword spun upward once more, leaping like a blue whale. The descending strike crashed down like a Giant Whale slamming against the waves.
The three Four Symbols Guards were forcefully pinned to the ground, the earth erupting with a deafening crack.
Bang! Bang!
Two Energy Cannon projectiles hurtled toward him. Lu Fei Fan deflected them with his Whale Devouring Sword, causing them to explode nearby.
Bai Ling and Hei Ling rushed into the fray. The bald-headed Bai Ling swung her Battle Axe as she leaped down from above. Lu Fei Fan countered with a swift kick that sent her flying. Hei Ling flickered left and right, shooting at Lu Fei Fan with fists like cannons, but Lu Fei Fan's figure flickered in and out of sight as he dodged and weaved, swinging his Greatsword down.
Clang!
Bai Ling suddenly appeared, blocking his strike.
"Anyone who dares to stop me will die!" Lu Fei Fan's gaze turned icy as the energy orb in the groove of his Whale Devouring Sword began to coalesce again. The orb erupted with electric currents as he unleashed the Whale Swallowing technique, surging forward like a torrent!
Boom!
Bai Ling and Hei Ling were both blasted away, crashing into the forest like cannonballs.
Bai Ling landed on a tree, snapping countless branches as she shakily stood up, her bright head wobbling. In her hand, the Long Axe was already broken. Hei Ling, on the other hand, knelt on the ground, her body slumped.
"Sister, sister," Bai Ling called out as she dropped the axe and rushed over to embrace her younger sister. Hei Ling looked up at her sister, her hands—once transformed into cannons—now severed by Lu Fei Fan, sparks of Dian Guang flickering around them.
"It's okay. We'll have the doctor give you a new pair when we get back," Bai Ling reassured her, gently stroking her sister's face.
But Hei Ling turned her head away coldly and said, "Sister, I'm already a robot. I used to have a brain, but now they've taken that away from me too."
Bai Ling stared at her sister in shock, trembling as she picked up the broken Battle Axe from the ground and gripped it tightly as she stood up.
"No matter what they did to you, I will get everything back that belongs to you!" Bai Ling vowed solemnly.
She leaped forward, but suddenly, a flash of sword light shot towards her. Hei Ling's body was once again sent flying back to the ground, landing hard with a gaping wound visible on her body.
It was only then that Hei Ling crawled over and held her sister in her arms.
"Sis..."
Bai Ling, with her bare head, raised a hand to stroke her sister's face and apologized, "I'm sorry. I was too headstrong. If I had acted weaker, maybe the doctor wouldn't have chosen you for the transformation. I'm so sorry, little sister..."
Her hand fell heavily downwards, losing its vitality.
Hei Ling was lost in confusion, not understanding what emotions were swirling within her. Staring blankly, she finally wrapped her remaining arms around her sister and began humming an unknown childhood lullaby—one that Bai Ling often sang to soothe her to sleep. Back then, they had just been trained by Alpha and had experienced nightmares that no child should endure; only their sister's strong lullabies could bring her comfort.
But now that her sister was asleep, all she could think of was that song.
She wanted to cry so badly, but within her mechanical body, not a single tear would fall.
Thunder rumbled in the distance.
Dark clouds loomed overhead, and rain began to pour down, drenching her slowly raised face. It was not tears, but it felt even more poignant.
Over there, the sword that Bai Ling wielded was not created by Lu Fei Fan, but by Bian Jian. Bai Ling charged towards Lu Fei Fan, only to be kicked away, her body flying towards Bian Jian. Bian Jian intended to strike Lu Fei Fan with his sword, but was blocked by a subordinate, infuriating him. In a fit of rage, he swung his sword and severely injured the girl.
Lu Fei Fan's Pulse Energy and sword techniques were evidently not easily defeated. Bian Jian held the Chuan Xing Jian at an angle in the rain, droplets striking the blade with a ringing sound.
Bian Jian realized that continuing to drag this out would be disadvantageous for him. He removed a square box from his waist and infused it with his Pulse Energy, activating the energy array within. The box opened suddenly, emitting a faint glow.
"Go!" Bian Jian commanded.
A vast expanse of black mist surged from the box. The first tendril curled like a tentacle around the branches of a central tree, devouring them completely!
Lu Fei Fan was taken aback; this was clearly not mist but some kind of poisonous creature!
With a swift motion of his sword, Lu Fei Fan unleashed an energy blade that swept through the poisonous insects. A portion of them were obliterated in an explosion of energy, but Bian Jian merely sneered. The box in his hand continued to pour forth black mist-like poisonous creatures without end!
Before long, the swarm of insects obscured the sky like a dark cloud in the rain, their numbers so vast it sent chills down one’s spine. They resembled a ravenous horde; whether it was plants or anything else in their path, they reduced everything to dust and lifeless trees.
Lu Fei Fan threw out dozens of Magic Cubes infused with light energy. The Magic Cubes quickly split into spider-like forms that detonated upon contact with the oncoming swarm of poison mist, exploding into bursts of energy that cleared out sections of the area. Hundreds of insects fell to the ground, yet the terrifying numbers showed no signs of diminishing as thousands continued to surge towards Lu Fei Fan.
"Jian Kai!"
The Whale Devouring Sword technique crashed down upon the swarm of poison creatures, slicing through a portion of them but still failing to stem their terrifying advance.
Seeing Lu Fei Fan's growing desperation, Bian Jian couldn't help but laugh triumphantly and shouted, "Give up resisting and accept your death! My Heiming Gu Chong will ensure you feel no pain!"
Suddenly, a bolt of lightning struck down amidst the heavy rain. The wind picked up, scattering some of the mist-like poison creatures. Leaves and petals swept past Lu Fei Fan in the gusts that came from who knows where.
“Floating Flowers…” Lu Fei Fan murmured, as if he had come to some realization. A massive amount of Pulse Energy began to gather, drawing in the surrounding air, rainwater, fallen leaves, and the drifting flowers that swirled around him, forming a dazzling current that enveloped Lu Fei Fan.
Wary of any tricks from Lu Fei Fan, Bian Jian dared not let the poisonous insects approach. Instead, he lurked like a monstrous predator, eyes fixed hungrily on his target.
Bian Jian observed the changes in Lu Fei Fan. The surrounding Pulse Energy transformed into mottled specks of light that appeared around him, constructing a pattern resembling scattered flowers. They began to spin, and clusters of petal-like light points formed from the Pulse Energy, swirling around Lu Fei Fan like a cascade of blooming petals.
“Vein Energy Visualization!” Bian Jian exclaimed in shock.
What was even more alarming was that the petals swirling around Lu Fei Fan were multiplying rapidly…
Bian Jian knew he could not allow him to create any more of those petals. This Fellow had clearly stumbled upon a self-created skill through chance insight. He gritted his teeth in frustration, wondering why this insufferable young man always seemed to be favored by fortune.
“Die!”
He unleashed his Pulse Energy, sending the poisonous insects surging toward Lu Fei Fan!
