In the next moment, the cold river water surged up, instantly submerging them.
Oh no, she couldn't swim. Wild Monkey suddenly realized that Yue Keyan was not a good swimmer.
Yet, this person who couldn't swim was clinging tightly to him, allowing the water to drown out all her consciousness, simply because he might know Lan Xibai and could possibly tell her where Lan Xibai was.

A mysterious smile curled at the corner of his mouth as a fine black light began to radiate from Wild Monkey's chest, the glow both enigmatic and eerie.
As the dark light dissipated, a figure appeared beneath the water.
He reached out to embrace the unconscious Yue Keyan, his movements gentle and cautious. Slowly, he pressed his lips against hers; her lips were sweet and soft.
Unable to resist, he opened his eyes and saw her peacefully asleep with her eyes closed, her long hair floating softly in the water like a water lily.
Perhaps it was an illusion, but he vaguely felt that in another time and space, they might have already known each other.
Yue Keyan was awakened by the enticing aroma of grilled fish. She opened her eyes and looked around, unexpectedly catching sight of a bare back of a man. Thinking it was an illusion, she blinked and when she opened her eyes again, the man had turned around. With dark hair, crimson lips, and starry eyes framed by sharp brows, he looked extraordinarily handsome, as if he had stepped out of a painting.
"You’re awake?" The man leaned closer and reached out to touch her head with a hint of affection. "Good, your fever has finally broken."
"Who... who are you?" Yue Keyan asked nervously. Due to her fever, her voice was hoarse and sounded weak.
The man blinked, a glint of cunning flashing in his eyes. "Aren't you the one looking for me everywhere?"
Yue Keyan was taken aback for a moment, then quickly realized, her eyes lighting up with surprise. "You... you are Lan Xibai?"
Lan Xibai shrugged nonchalantly. "You can decide for yourself; after all, it's you who has been searching for me!"
Suddenly, he reached out and grabbed Yue Keyan's cheek. The action seemed rough but carried an imperceptible hint of tenderness. "I warn you, you'd better not play tricks; otherwise, I can kill you at any moment!"
"It's you, it's really you!" Yue Keyan exclaimed excitedly. This gesture, this tone—it was unmistakably that pesky demon, Lan Xibai.
It was somewhat frustrating; although she had spent time with Lan Xibai, she had never seen his true form. He was merely a wisp of a soul, unable to solidify into a complete shape, so she could only see a translucent shadow. She never expected him to be so stunningly beautiful.
"Now then, Ms. Lan Yu, can you tell me who you really are and why you've been searching for me?"
"I am Yue Keyan. I was entrusted by the you from Three Hundred Years later to stop you from going to Tianshan Sect to find Bai Su because you will die—she will forcibly extract your soul and leave you neither demon nor ghost!"
Yue Keyan finally sighed in relief, her expression filled with exhaustion and gratitude. "I'm just glad I found you. I was really worried that you had already gone to Tianshan. I heard from the you of Three Hundred Years later that you would go to Tianshan to congratulate Bai Su on her successful cultivation!"
"That's quite timely news. I just heard that my master has indeed achieved success and ranks among the immortals."
Lan Xibai raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing on his lips as he asked with a hint of mockery in his smile, "You think Bai Su will kill me? How ridiculous! Do you know I was once her disciple?"
