She had just checked the latest market trends for Bitcoin on her phone, and her heart was filled with joy. Her Bitcoin was now worth millions! Thinking back to the despair she felt when she was unemployed, and now having such an asset, Xiaomei couldn't help but smile, her heart brimming with anticipation for the future.
"Hey, Xiaomei! I didn't expect you to arrive so quickly!" A familiar voice came from behind her. Xiaomei turned around to see Zhang Xiaohu walking towards her, a sunny smile on his face.
"Zhang Xiaohu? What are you doing here?" Xiaomei asked in surprise, her heart filled with delight. It was clear that Zhang Xiaohu had changed jobs to support her; he was always so understanding.
"I heard you were laid off, and I was quite worried, so I came over," Zhang Xiaohu said with concern in his voice. "Then I found out this company was hiring programmers, so I quickly applied and got in."
Xiaomei felt touched; such support warmed her heart. Zhang Xiaohu had always been her junior and a good friend in the workplace. Now that they could fight side by side at the new company, she felt immensely gratified.
"That's great! We can work together now!" Xiaomei exclaimed excitedly.
"Yeah, we can help each other out. The projects you handled at your previous company were impressive; I'll just follow your lead," Zhang Xiaohu nodded appreciatively. "Once I get familiar with the environment, we'll do a great job together."
Xiaomei took a deep breath, feeling confident. Although the new job brought many challenges, with Zhang Xiaohu by her side, she no longer felt alone. They shared past experiences and talked about their expectations for the new company, as if everything had been revitalized.
In the first few days, Xiaomei thrived in the new company and gained recognition from her colleagues. The synergy between her and Zhang Xiaohu significantly boosted their work efficiency. Whenever they encountered problems, Zhang Xiaohu was always quick to lend a helping hand, and their relationship grew even closer through their collaboration.
However, despite everything seeming perfect, a hint of unease lingered in Xiaomei's heart. She often thought about her lost Bitcoins; her sense of belonging to them remained profound. But she knew she couldn't let that distract her.
Finally, one day after work, Xiaomei walked out of the company with Zhang Xiaohu. The setting sun stretched their shadows long as Zhang Xiaohu said, "What are you planning to do about those Bitcoins?"
"Once I find my private key, I'll cash them out and keep a safety net for myself," Xiaomei replied. Though she spoke lightly, she understood that these Bitcoins were not just wealth; they represented security as well.
"I believe you can definitely succeed," Zhang Xiaohu said, giving Xiaomei's shoulder a reassuring pat, his gaze unwavering. "Let's work hard together!"
A warm current surged through Xiaomei's heart. With Zhang Xiaohu by her side, she felt less afraid of the challenges that lay ahead.
As the day came to an end, Xiaomei realized that her life was moving in a positive direction. One day, she would hold that substantial sum of money in her hands.
Sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating the coffee cup on her desk. Although the new company had an elegant atmosphere, her feelings were somewhat mixed. Ever since leaving her previous job, a sense of unease and anxiety had lingered in her mind. Even though she had found new employment, the shadow of her former company still loomed over her thoughts. She reminded herself that everything here was different; she was no longer the insignificant programmer but a developer worthy of respect.
At that moment, Xiaomei received a phone call. "Xiaomei, I need to talk to you about something," Peter's voice came through cautiously, as if he were handling something extremely important.
