Hearing such domineering words from Jian Jie, I couldn't help but get a bit irritated. I stiffened my neck and said, "Beautiful lady, don't you think being too greedy sometimes isn't a good thing? In the end, you might leave empty-handed." 0

I whistled at Fo Zhang, who promptly placed his hand on the root of the Big Red Flower, as if he was about to uproot it at any moment. 0

Sure enough, a flicker of panic crossed Jian Jie’s eyes. It seemed that this Big Red Flower was very important to her. 0

"Do you really think your bullets can kill both of us at the same time?" I taunted, feeling a sense of satisfaction seeing Jian Jie at a disadvantage. 0

Jian Jie sighed lightly and said, "Forget it. I'll let you off this time. Just tell that monkey to be careful; if he damages my flower, heh..." 0

I whistled again at Fo Zhang, who then sat cautiously beside the Big Red Flower and let out a low growl towards Jian Jie. 0

Seeing that our agreement was taking shape, I curiously asked, "Sister, what’s so special about this flower? Our Fo Zhang was raised in luxury; he doesn't pay attention to ordinary things. I just don’t understand why this time..." 0

"Don't call me sister randomly! And how could you not know what kind of flower that is? What are you doing here stirring up trouble?" Jian Jie exclaimed with wide eyes in surprise. Then she looked at me with disdain, probably mocking me in her heart—luxury raised? More like free-range! 0

I scratched my head awkwardly and replied, "It was all Fo Zhang's idea to bring me here. Otherwise, in such a hidden place, I wouldn’t have been able to find it." 0

Jian Jie’s eyes darted around as she murmured softly, "I didn’t expect this monkey to have such skills." 0

As for Fo Zhang, I turned into a proud parent boasting about their child, praising him to the skies. Jian Jie glanced at her watch and said, "In ten minutes, we can harvest it." 0

Curious as ever, I leaned closer to her, getting close enough to catch a faint scent from her. Jian Jie took a few steps back and pushed me away with her whip, saying, "Stop grinning like an idiot; do we know each other well?" 0

I shamelessly extended my hand and said, "I'm Ling Feng. I live in Shan Xia... As the saying goes, 'Familiarity breeds fondness.' The more we get to know each other, the better!" 0

Jian Jie cast a disdainful glance at my enthusiastic demeanor and coldly said, “I’ll count to three. Get your monkey out of my sight quickly, or else…” 0

She raised her gun and blew on the muzzle, then gave me a meaningful look. 0

Despite the beauty before me, I remained vigilant. I stepped back towards Fo Zhang, cradling her in my arms as I continued to slowly retreat towards the cave entrance. 0

Seeing that I was leaving, Fo Zhang began to squirm and cry out anxiously in my embrace. Luckily, I held her tightly; otherwise, she might have wriggled free and run back. I gently stroked Fo Zhang's head and reassured her, “It’s just a Big Red Flower. Once we’re outside, I’ll go into the mountains and pick some for you. There are all sorts of colors, okay?” 0

I waved apologetically at Jian Jie and said, “Fo Zhang is just a child at heart. We’re leaving now.” 0

Jian Jie watched me with cold eyes as I continued to back away, her hand resting on her waist. The sound of rushing water grew louder behind me; I could almost feel the cool spray of water soaking my clothes. Just as I turned to leap out of the cave, Jian Jie suddenly drew her gun from behind her waist. 0

I quickly spun around, raising the thin line in my hand and declared, “I should have known that beautiful women can’t be trusted. Toss your gun aside; otherwise, if I pull hard enough, that Big Red Flower will be gone.” 0

I smiled triumphantly as Jian Jie scowled and tossed her gun aside, coldly stating, “Ling Feng, right? I’ll remember you…” 0

I waved goodbye to Jian Jie with a smirk and was about to jump out of the cave when a fierce gust of wind blew me back inside. 0

The wind carried with it a cacophony of wailing screams, and the air around me instantly chilled. I brushed off the dust from my backside and stood up only to realize that Fo Zhang had disappeared. 0

Looking back into the cave, I saw Jian Jie entangled with a mass of Black Mist. Faces twisted in agony occasionally emerged from the mist, their pale hands clawing wildly. 0

Without needing to guess, I knew Fo Zhang must have gone after the Big Red Flower; she wouldn’t want to leave it behind. Avoiding the battle between Jian Jie and the shadowy figure, I turned back. I couldn’t abandon Fo Zhang while escaping on my own. Besides, I had my own motives; as they say, when clams fight, the fisherman benefits. Although I didn’t know what the Big Red Flower was exactly, it was clear that both Fo Zhang and Jian Jie—and now this shadow—valued it highly. It must be something extraordinary. If Fo Zhang could obtain it, that would be a good thing; it would save me from dealing with her tantrums later. 0

I cradled Fo Zhang in my arms again while she focused on the Big Red Flower, and I kept my eyes on Jian Jie. 0

The shadow before me seemed not of this world, a mass of black mist that absorbed the strikes of Jian Jie’s whip as if they were nothing more than blows against cotton, having no effect whatsoever. 0

Conversely, the Black Mist appeared as a single entity yet could split into countless wisps, each concealing various human heads, all resembling Evil Spirits. The cries of these Evil Spirits were disorienting; even sitting at the side, I had to cover my ears, let alone Jian Jie, who was in the midst of battle. 0

Jian Jie was no ordinary character. Realizing the black mist was formidable, she quickly pulled out a Talisman from her pocket and began chanting an incantation. She then affixed it to her Long Whip, which shimmered with a flickering arc of light. 0

With the Talisman attached, every strike of the Long Whip against the black mist elicited wails of resentment from the spirits within. Some weaker ones that strayed too close were swept away by the whip and instantly turned to ash. 0

I was taken aback; it turned out that Jian Jie possessed some magical abilities as well. A regular person would be unable to contend with this Gui Wu. 0

The Gui Wu seemed to fear the lightning power of the whip. It emitted a shrill cry, akin to nails scraping across a chalkboard, sending discomfort through my heart. I instinctively covered my ears and moved aside, but Jian Jie was less fortunate; blood trickled from the corner of her mouth. 0

“Ling Feng, are you dead? Come help!” Jian Jie shouted at me. There was no one who asked for help in such an imperious manner. I pretended not to hear and absentmindedly patted Fo Zhang’s head. 0

“Are you even a man?” Jian Jie gritted her teeth at my indifference. 0

I smirked and replied, “Am I a man? Why don’t you try and find out?” 0

Jian Jie’s expression darkened instantly as her eyes shot toward my groin. “If you’re not afraid of being rendered childless, then go ahead!” 0

I instinctively covered myself and said, “Then tell me what this flower is and why you all want it so badly.” 0

While fending off the black mist, Jian Jie spoke with me. Distracted, her shoulder got snagged and her clothing tore. “That’s the Higanbana.” 0

I smacked my forehead; how had I not thought of it earlier? Higanbana, also known as Manjusaka, is the flower that guides souls across the River of Forgetfulness—its flowers and leaves never meet. How had I overlooked such an obvious characteristic? 0

“I can help you, but I want half of that flower. Otherwise…” I looked at Jian Jie, who was at a disadvantage, and quickly made my demand. 0

Jian Jie had already sustained several injuries, and his stamina was gradually fading. Gritting his teeth, he replied, “Fine.” 0

“Then you swear you won’t go back on your word. After all, you had bad intentions before and even tried to ambush me from behind?” I shouted at Jian Jie. 0

Breathing heavily, Jian Jie said, “I, Jian Jie, swear that after the matter is settled, I will give half of the Higanbana to Ling Feng. Afterward, I will not pursue it further; otherwise, may lightning strike me.” 0

Only then did I pick up the Ruyi Stick and step forward to help. With my assistance, Jian Jie felt a bit relieved and cursed, “You smelly monk, don’t you have any compassion for the fairer sex?” 0

I chuckled and replied, “Of course I have compassion; it’s just that you… well, you don’t need it.” 0

With my blood smeared on the middle finger of the Ruyi Stick, dealing with the Gui Wu was no longer a problem. With a sweeping strike, a group of Gui Wu vanished into thin air. 0
