When I woke up again, I found myself tied up like a rice dumpling and thrown on the ground. My back ached from the stones digging into it, and my head felt dizzy.
I struggled to sit up, but in my haste, I almost bumped into the person standing beside me.
"Ah, Master! This person is awake..." The girl's crisp voice carried a hint of panic.
As I opened my eyes, I saw a girl who looked about seventeen or eighteen. She had rosy lips and white teeth, dressed in traditional Miao attire. Her long black hair was pinned up with silver hairpins.
Her watery eyes were staring at me, resembling a startled deer.
I cautiously glanced around and realized that I was in a cave. In the center of the cave was a flickering campfire.
The one she called Master was none other than Miao Yayun, the one who had knocked me out.
At that moment, she was sitting cross-legged by the fire. The dancing flames cast shadows on her face—half hidden in darkness and half illuminated by the firelight.
"Where am I? What happened to Jiang Zong and the others?" I asked, feeling a bit anxious.
Miao Yayun chuckled, her laughter echoing in the cave like Ye Xiao's call.
"You should worry about yourself first... Let me ask you, are you willing to become my disciple?"
I certainly was not willing. Not only did I already have a master, but judging by Miao Yayun's previous actions, I could never accept her as my teacher.
Seeing me stubbornly shake my head, Miao Yayun remained unfazed and coldly said, "Right now, I am the butcher, and you are merely the fish on the chopping board. You have no right to refuse."
She then gestured to the girl standing nearby with her hands at her sides. "Hong Chou, teach him a lesson. Let him know my capabilities..."
Hong Chou nodded with a smile as she approached me. However, that smile felt no different from a butcher wielding a large cleaver in my eyes.
Her eyes sparkled with mockery as she squatted beside me and pulled out a jade-colored porcelain bottle from her pocket. Shaking it slightly, she said, "Junior Brother, this is the first time I've seen Master cherish someone like this..."
Hong Chou's icy hand slapped my face before she continued, "So as your Senior Sister, I won't be too harsh. Let's start with this little treat to whet your appetite, shall we?"
As the cork was pulled out, a sweet and cloying fragrance filled the air.
Hong Chou slowly poured the contents of the bottle over me.
A chill washed over me, and I suddenly realized that my clothes had mysteriously vanished.
All I had left was a pair of Big Shorts.
Though Hong Chou was a girl, she didn't seem to mind my state; she paused only when the liquid from the jade bottle reached just above my navel.
"Hehe... Hehe... Junior Brother, as a welcome gift from your Senior Sister, let me spare you this time..." Hong Chou giggled as the liquid dripped onto my legs.
My heart felt cold; after all, I was still a young man... captured by Miao Yayun, this woman scorned by love, and here I was, bound and completely naked.
Scenes from action movies swirled in my mind, filling me with despair.
Was Miao Yayun so desperate for affection that she had become twisted? Did she crave new experiences?
Could it be that there would be candles involved later?
Seeing that I remained silent, Hong Chou lost interest, kicked me lightly, and returned to the fire.
"Master, I've smeared some honey on him... Hehe..." Hong Chou said with a laugh, seeking praise.
Miao Yayun nodded slightly, still with her eyes closed in meditation.
Being young and unable to endure the silence any longer, Hong Chou asked again, "Master, are we really going to take him back to the Village?"
Miao Yayun opened her eyes and replied, "Of course. Just keep an eye on him; don't let him die on me... I still have use for him..."
Hong Chou agreed, and the atmosphere returned to calm, broken only by the crackling of the burning firewood.
Every sense was heightened due to the lack of clothing on my body. I closed my eyes and recited Buddhist scriptures, hoping to calm my mind.
However, the sensation of ants and insects crawling over me made it impossible to concentrate. The number of bugs increased, and when I glanced down, a chill ran through me as I saw that every spot where Hong Chou had spilled honey was crawling with all sorts of insects.
At first, I managed to endure it, but as the insects multiplied, the sharp mandibles of the ants gnawing at my skin became unbearable, sending waves of discomfort through me.
“Ah… ah… help me…”
I finally couldn’t hold back any longer and cried out, my voice filled with despair.
Miao Yayun looked at me, her words dripping with sarcasm. “Can’t you handle this little pain? Are you really committed to being my disciple or not?”
“I’m not…” I gritted my teeth in response.
Hong Chou, who had been meditating with his eyes closed, was interrupted by my pig-like wails. His brows furrowed tightly as he walked over and stuffed a handkerchief into my mouth.
He then kicked me twice in annoyance. “If you keep screaming like that, I’ll make you mute with poison…”
The tingling sensation on my body intensified, and I could only twist and turn to alleviate it. Yet these insects seemed to be glued to me; no matter how much I moved, they wouldn’t shake off.
With something stuffed in my mouth, I could only emit muffled sounds of agony. I cursed inwardly; even if I wanted to become a disciple now, how could I?
These two psychologically twisted women—had their intelligence been devoured by Gu Worms?
Just as I rolled my eyes in frustration, I felt a furry touch behind me. I knew immediately that Fo Zhang had arrived.
Earlier, at Jiang Zong's house, Fo Zhang had likely been playing around in the area to avoid Miao Yayun's poisonous grasp.
Fo Zhang brushed away the insects from my body and slowly began to untie the ropes binding me.
In the dim light, I searched around until I found my gray monk robe in a corner. I gestured for Fo Zhang to hand me my clothes. As I put on the robe and stepped toward the cave entrance, it suddenly struck me that my Qiankun Bag was missing.
I had to remind myself that all my treasures were inside, but after thinking it over, I realized that staying alive was the priority. Who knew how this twisted master and disciple would torment a delicate young man like me?
If I were to be confined, not only would I lose the Qiankun Bag, but my entire life would be lived in shadow.
It wasn't until I had run a good distance from the cave entrance that I finally took a deep breath and set my sights on the city, sprinting in that direction.
I was running with all my might, terrified that if I slowed down, I would be caught and dragged back. That would be disastrous…
Only when I saw the lights of Wan Jia did I feel a bit of relief. Fo Zhang was perched on my shoulder, chirping excitedly as if claiming credit for my escape.
I patted Fo Zhang's head and said, "Don't worry, I'll buy you bananas tomorrow..."
As I noticed cars speeding by and pedestrians scattered under the streetlights, I hailed a taxi to take me back to my rental.
Big matters could wait until tomorrow after I had some rest.
