Take advantage of his illness to claim his life! 0

I wasn’t arrogant enough to think I could stand against two people, especially not against Miao Zhenye, who was striding towards me. He was incredibly muscular, with eyes like lightning and prominent temples that clearly indicated he was a trained fighter. 0

I swiftly struck the back of the neck of the man I had just knocked down. Poor guy had barely gotten back up when my palm sent him crashing back into unconsciousness. 0

“Kid, I advise you to surrender. If it comes to blows, I won’t hold back,” Miao Zhenye threatened while rubbing his wrist. 0

In his mind, I was just a rookie who had never seen serious action. But I couldn’t stand that kind of arrogance. 0

So I scoffed, “You won’t know until you take it out for a spin.” 0

Without wasting any more words, Miao Zhenye lunged at me like a ferocious tiger descending a mountain, throwing a powerful left hook aimed at my jaw. 0

The force of his punch was tremendous, far beyond what an ordinary person could withstand. Even if he were facing a bull, I bet he could knock it down. 0

I executed the Great Shift Technique just in time to evade Miao Zhenye’s fist, but the wind from his punch still stung my face like the howling North Wind in winter. 0

When he missed, a flicker of surprise crossed Miao Zhenye’s eyes. He had put seven-tenths of his strength into that punch; with its angle and speed, it was not something an average person could dodge. Realizing this, he dropped his underestimation and began to take me seriously. 0

Once Miao Zhenye got serious, things turned dire for me. I immediately felt the pressure mounting as his fists came at me faster and faster, like a series of shadows sealing off all my escape routes. 0

Fortunately, I wasn’t defenseless either. Drawing from my previous combat experiences, I had started to grasp some techniques, and my coordination between punches and movement became increasingly fluid. 0

Seizing an opportunity, I leaned back and fell parallel to the ground. Then I kicked hard at Miao Zhenye’s knee with both feet. Using that momentum, I performed two backflips before landing gracefully and casting a cold gaze at Miao Zhenye. 0

Miao Zhenye staggered back a few steps but managed to stay on his feet. His face was as dark as a judge's, and he found himself at the mercy of a younger opponent. Where could he hide his embarrassment? 0

His fists clenched tightly, making cracking sounds as he quickly dashed forward. With a powerful push against the ground, he launched himself into the air, kicking towards me at an incredible speed. 0

I leaned back, lifting one leg to kick. My foot connected with Miao Zhenye's joint, and I followed up by pressing my hands against the ground, sliding away smoothly. 0

On the other side, Miao Yayun's Ling Die had firmly suppressed the golden Di Gu. The Di Gu flailed around wildly, emitting strange screeching sounds that resembled a chick being strangled. The old man with the white beard looked increasingly distressed; clearly, at his age, controlling the Di Gu was beyond his strength. 0

Otherwise, with the Di Gu's capabilities, it wouldn't be so easily subdued by Miao Yayun's Ling Die. 0

Meanwhile, things were not looking good for Hong Chou. Her Hei Chan had been forced back into her body. She could only rely on the insect corpses she usually trained to defend herself, occasionally scattering colorful powders. 0

The air was thick with a mix of various scents and foul odors. 0

Unfortunately for Hong Chou, her opponent was also from Miao Village, so they had no fear of her tricks. 0

I could only pity myself as an outsider. A gentle breeze swept by, and I sneezed, feeling worse for wear. My head spun as if caught in a whirlwind. 0

I cursed inwardly: indeed, it’s not the formidable opponents that scare me but rather teammates who are as useless as pigs. It was clear they were trying to set me up for failure. 0

Just as I felt off balance, Miao Zhenye seized the opportunity and landed a punch squarely on my chest. It felt like my entire ribcage was being crushed inwards, and I flew across the ground. 0

Perhaps due to the pain, my dizziness lessened slightly. I clutched my chest and watched as Miao Zhenye approached closer, his face twisted in a mocking grin while my mind raced to formulate a plan. 0

Well then, let’s treat this dead horse as if it were alive. There’s an antidote section in the Gu Dao Zhuang Mo Jing. I quickly began to follow its instructions while trying to stall for time: “If you have any skill, wait until I’m ready before we fight. Taking advantage of someone in distress is not what a true hero would do!” 0

Miao Zhenye chuckled, "What kind of society are we living in now? There are still such childish thoughts. Youth really is a blessing." 0

"I... I was just brought here by Miao Yayun. Why are you attacking me for no reason? I swear, if you don't make things difficult for me, I'll just stand by and watch. Your grievances are your own to resolve; they have nothing to do with me," I pleaded. 0

Miao Zhenye furrowed his brow, a look of suspicion crossing his face. 0

Fortunately, sensing that the situation was turning dire, I held my breath. The amount of toxic dust I inhaled wasn't much, and my words had already bought me some time. I pretended to be gravely injured, slowly backing away. 0

"Then I'll tie you up for now," Miao Zhenye said. "After everything is settled, I promise on my honor to release you. How does that sound?" 0

I thought to myself that he truly was an Old Fox. I had retreated to the wall, and as Miao Zhenye reached for my collar, I seized the moment to strike back. Grabbing his arm, I yanked him towards me and then slammed my palm against the wall, sliding away across the floor. 0

"Bang..." 0

Miao Zhenye's head collided violently with the wall. I thought that after such a hit he would at least be dazed, if not entirely incapacitated. However, when I turned to look back, Miao Zhenye stood there with blood covering his face, his eyes blazing with fury as if they could cut me down like lasers. 0

At that moment, a gasp echoed from outside. When I turned to see what was happening, it turned out that the old man with the white beard had coughed up a mouthful of blood before collapsing to the ground. 0

The scene fell silent for a moment. Miao Zhenye and another person ceased their actions and moved towards the old man. Miao Yayun stood in the center of the room, motionless, her embroidered clothing making her appear like a figure from a painting. 0

In contrast, Hong Chou looked somewhat disheveled; several parts of his clothing were torn, and blood trickled from the corner of his mouth. I was faring better; I only felt a slight pain in my chest. 0

"A Yun," Miao Zhenye shouted in agitation, his voice hoarse with emotion. "You've seriously injured Great-Grandfather! Are you still unwilling to stop?" 0

Miao Yayun replied softly, "Support me." 0

I shared a silent understanding with Hong Chou, each of us supporting Miao Yayun at her waist, realizing that she too had been injured. 0

"Who has been persistently entangling us? The curse has always been in the hands of the Saintess throughout history. This is an ancestral rule that no one can break," Miao Yayun said coldly. 0

Miao Zhenye was left speechless, staring intently at Miao Yayun. 0

At that moment, the ground began to shake violently. Someone shouted, "Earthquake! Run!" 0

The entire courtyard and the area outside turned chaotic, but fortunately, the shaking lasted only a few dozen seconds. 0

With a loud crash, a stone statue enshrined in the temple toppled over, blocking the exit completely. 0

Seeing this, Miao Yayun spat out a mouthful of blood, murmuring, "It’s impossible, it can’t be happening..." 0
