The Old Man had accurately grasped the psychology of the Azure Bat King. The Azure Bat King immediately halted and said, “Poison Scorpion, go stop that one surnamed Wu!”
Originally a four-on-one situation, it had suddenly lost two key players, increasing the pressure on both the Old Man and the Azure Bat King. Relying on his elusive movements, the Azure Bat King managed to keep up. Surrounding the Old Man was a mass of black objects that spun rapidly, forming a solid fortress that protected him from all sides.
The giant serpent had just gone through a tribulation and had been fighting for such a long time that its offensive gradually weakened.
The once proudly raised Snake Head was now perilously close to plunging into the water.
The Azure Bat King quickly intensified his attacks. “Old Man, if that snake enters the water, we’ll be in trouble. This won’t benefit either of us. How about we negotiate?”
The Old Man formed a hand seal and launched his own counterattack. “Speak your mind!”
The Azure Bat King proposed, “Why don’t we join forces to take down this giant serpent? As for Jiao Zhu, we can compete for it later based on our abilities. What do you say?”
“Take down the giant serpent?” The Old Man’s tone was filled with skepticism. “It’s not that I underestimate you; even a skinny camel is bigger than a horse. Do you really think we can handle this serpent—no, this flood dragon—together?”
The Azure Bat King scoffed, “You’re old, yet you won’t admit it. As one ages, courage seems to shrink as well.”
The Old Man chuckled, “Don’t try that psychological tactic on me; it won’t work on this old man. If you want to do it, you need to show some sincerity.”
With this distraction, the Azure Bat King was struck by the serpent's tail and was sent flying uncontrollably backward.
As a result, the Old Man found himself in a precarious situation! Fortunately, it seemed that the giant serpent did not wish to continue the fight and was attempting to sink its massive body into the water.
The Old Man quickly unsheathed a Nine-section Whip from his waist. He swung it into the air, and the whip caught the wind, wrapping around the base of the giant serpent's Snake Head.
Following the Old Man was incredibly impressive, as if he were walking a giant python.
However, his posture was somewhat unrefined, alternating between being above and below the water!
I was secretly anxious when the Azure Bat King, who had been knocked aside, returned to the scene. I feared that he might launch a sneak attack from behind, my heart racing as if it would leap out of my throat.
To my surprise, the Azure Bat King was not foolish. He directly grasped the Nine-section Whip and climbed onto the giant python's back. Then he pulled out a Talisman from his pocket—it was a Red Talisman!
The Azure Bat King truly lived up to his name; in such a situation, he managed to hold the Talisman in one hand while chanting incantations with his mouth. Finally, he slapped it onto the giant snake's head.
The Red Talisman wriggled like a living creature and burrowed straight into the giant snake's body.
Sensing danger, the massive head of the python thrashed about violently, seemingly trying to shake off the Talisman.
The Old Man seemed to sense something was amiss. He retracted the Nine-section Whip and flipped into the water.
Then he desperately swam towards the shore. The equally flustered Azure Bat King also struggled to make his way back. After all, he was still a mortal; earlier, the python's tail had inflicted considerable damage on him. At this moment, it was clear that he was injured.
Just as I felt a sense of relief, Xia Xing, Xia Yue, and a voluptuous woman with an enchanting appearance—clearly Yao Ji—emerged from the forest. They split into two groups: Xia Xing and Xia Yue headed towards the Old Man while Yao Ji moved towards the Azure Bat King.
Having been tormented by the giant python, the Old Man was likely exhausted. Ignoring my own injuries, I rushed forward to block Xia Xing and Xia Yue's path.
As men standing tall, I still had some responsibility!
The one wearing a hat appeared to be Xia Xing. With a serious expression, he said, “Where did this wild dog come from to dare block my way?”
Xia Yue, with her ponytail swaying, frowned and said, "You're the one who was following An Old Man last time!"
I shrugged and replied, "What wild dog is barking here, disturbing the peace?"
Xia Xing stopped exchanging words with me and charged directly at me with swift movements.
As she approached, she leaped into the air, drawing a pair of short swords from her waist. Though they were called short swords, the tips were curved and sharp.
I executed the Great Shift Technique, retreating half a step while raising my Ruyi Stick.
Xia Xing flipped backward, landing on her feet. Using the momentum from her landing, she lunged at my lower body with her dual short swords.
I planted my Ruyi Stick firmly on the ground and leaped into the air, delivering a kick aimed straight at Xia Xing's face.
To my surprise, Xia Yue had vanished from my sight. Realizing something was off, I quickly retracted my attack and rolled to the side.
Sure enough, Xia Yue had stealthily positioned herself behind me, and the siblings planned to launch a pincer attack.
I spat out in frustration, cursing under my breath. "Damn it, am I some kind of sandwich?"
Twins truly were different; when they fought together, it was as if they had divine assistance. Their coordination was impeccable, as if they were one person.
The pressure on me increased dramatically. After just a few exchanges, I found several cuts on my body.
The worst part was that their weapons had barbed hooks. If I got caught by one of those, I would lose a chunk of flesh.
“Not much better than the old man's disciple!” Xia Yue said, licking the blood and flesh off the hook.
Xia Xing urged, “Quickly deal with this fly and go help Master.”
I scoffed, thinking that if they wanted to take me down, they would likely have to shed some skin themselves.
I gripped the Ruyi Stick firmly in my hand; just because the tiger wasn't showing its might didn't mean they could treat me like a sick cat.
I pressed a few acupoints on my body, forcibly controlling my injuries.
Xia Xing and Xia Yue attacked me from both sides. I pushed the Great Shift Technique to its limits, but unfortunately, these two were disciples of the Azure Bat King, and I was at a disadvantage in speed.
My only strategy was to avoid making mistakes rather than seeking achievements. Additionally, I had to prevent them from getting too close.
Weapons are stronger with length; I swung the Ruyi Stick, creating a gust of wind. While one of the Xia siblings distracted me, the other hid in the shadows, launching sneak attacks. But I was no novice fresh out of the mountains.
I fought while retreating. It was impossible for the Xia siblings to take me down in such a short time.
On another front, the Poison Scorpion Master relied on poison and hidden weapons. Wu Lao's formations were endless, and their battle was equally intense.
Just as An Old Man and Azure Bat King reached the shore, they heard an explosion from the water.
The splash shot high into the air. A massive hole had been blown into the giant python's head, exposing its white brain matter.
Floating on the water's surface, it was unaware of its fate!
"You are quite generous; such Thunder Talismans are rare," An Lao Dao remarked.
"You can't catch a wolf without first letting go of the child!" replied the Azure Bat King.
He then gestured to Yao Ji, who was already wearing a tight-fitting outfit. Having just emerged from the water, her figure appeared even more alluring. Her damp long hair cascaded over her shoulders, with droplets glistening at the tips, creating an irresistible allure.
Yao Ji strode over with her long legs, a smile on her face as she approached An Old Man step by step.
An Old Man watched coldly, neither running nor hiding, reclining on the grass as if waiting for a beauty to come to him.
