The Old Man charged forward without fear, clearly prepared to fight to the death. He shouted, "Go!" 0

I gritted my teeth, ready to flee with Wu Lao on my back, when Wu Lao calmly said, "Ling Feng, you should go! Remember to take good care of Wu Yuanyuan for me. I've owed her too much in this lifetime." 0

With that, he dashed toward the Old Man. A flush suddenly appeared on Wu Lao's previously pale face, as if he had been drinking. He then pulled out several wooden wedges from his robe. 0

He struck his chest with a fist and coughed up a mouthful of blood, staining the wooden wedges red. With a sweeping motion of his hand, the wedges scattered and sank into the ground. 0

Wu Lao sat cross-legged, his eyes tightly shut, his lips moving slightly. 0

The Azure Bat King and several others, including Mo Cang, were trapped within the magic circle. They were the primary targets of the formation. I knew Wu Lao's injuries wouldn't hold out much longer, and I felt a surge of urgency. 0

In a flash, an idea struck me: if I could find Jiao Zhu and escape, perhaps I could save both the Old Man and Wu Lao. 0

Without hesitation, I turned and jumped into the reservoir, swimming toward the general direction where Jiao Zhu had fallen. The reservoir was deep and dark underwater, making my search difficult. 0

I surfaced for air, taking several deep breaths before plunging back down. This time I was smarter; since Jiao Zhu was the essence of the giant python, there must be energy fluctuations to sense. Instead of searching visually, I focused on perceiving the energy waves at the bottom using Fo Xi. 0

Thanks to my recent efforts in resolving grievances, my Dan Tian's Fo Xi had significantly improved and felt much easier to use now. It seemed that resolving grievances was indeed beneficial during idle times. 0

Before long, Fo Xi detected a calm yet powerful energy source nestled within a crevice at the bottom. Jiao Zhu glimmered like a pearl, emitting a soft light. Surrounding Jiao Zhu were numerous fish of various kinds, gathered as if in worship. 0

The scene was magnificent. The dark mass of fish encircled Jiao Zhu in layers. My arrival did not startle them; they seemed intoxicated instead. 0

Holding my breath, I grasped Jiao Zhu in my hands and stored it in my Qiankun Bag. Although it was a brief moment underwater, my hands still suffered from frostbite. The surface of Jiao Zhu was extremely cold—likely several dozen degrees below zero. 0

Without the Jiao Zhu, all the fish leisurely scattered away. I had been holding my breath for too long, my legs kicked furiously while my hands splashed through the water. The light above guided me as I struggled to swim upwards. 0

As soon as my head broke the surface, I gasped for air, greedily inhaling the fresh oxygen. The sensation of my dry lungs being filled was exhilarating. Breathing felt so wonderful. 0

Suddenly, a powerful tug pulled at my ankles. I quickly took a deep breath and kicked my legs vigorously. Once submerged again, I saw who was grabbing me—a person clad in sharkskin. They were short and had an incredibly ugly face. 0

However, their body moved like a fish; if you didn’t look closely, they resembled a large black fish. 0

I immediately turned and threw a punch. The person dodged just in time. After we separated, we both surfaced from the water. 0

“Who are you?” I demanded. 0

The person sneered, “Hand over the Jiao Zhu, and I might spare your life.” 0

I frowned. “Are you from the Evil Spirit Cult?” 0

“Smart of you to figure that out! Since you know, why not surrender quietly? If I have to make a move, it won’t be pleasant.” 0

I gripped my Ruyi Stick tightly and swung it at them. They seemed taken aback by my ferocity and didn’t finish their sentence before attacking. 0

Though there was buoyancy underwater, with the Ruyi Stick in hand, they couldn’t get close to me. 0

To my surprise, this person had an incredible lung capacity; despite having changed my breath several times, they remained submerged, evading me effortlessly. 0

As I found myself locked in a stalemate with that person, Wu Lao's formation was broken. 0

I saw Wu Lao spit out a mouthful of blood and collapse onto the ground. 0

Mo Cang, however, did not take advantage of the situation; he directly confronted An Old Man. 0

While I was distracted by the situation on the shore, I fought and retreated against the person in the water, trying to make my way back to land. 0

Just as I was about to climb onto the shore, An Old Man was struck in the chest by Mo Cang's palm and sent flying. 0

"Holy Son, Jiao Zhu has been taken by that guy!" The person in the water shouted as he poked his head up. Instantly, all eyes turned toward me. 0

The Azure Bat King and his group warily surrounded me. I glanced around and realized there was no escape on land, but there was still one option in the water. 0

Right now, I was the only one with wings who could fly. Otherwise... 0

Mo Cang extended his hand and said, "Hand over Jiao Zhu, and I can let you go!" 0

I countered, "I can give you Jiao Zhu, but you must release the three of us." 0

I pointed at Wu Lao, who lay on the ground unconscious, and An Old Man, who was clutching his chest. 0

Mo Cang chuckled, "You really are getting bolder!" 0

Mo Cang waved his hand, and Xia Xing and Xia Yue each placed their daggers against the throats of An Old Man and Wu Lao. 0

"I will count to three. If you do not hand over Jiao Zhu, I will send these two old fellows to meet the King of Hell. When they turn into Li Gui, they will remember that it was you who let them die!" Mo Cang declared. 0

An Old Man turned to me and said, "Ling Feng, both Lao Wu and I have lived long enough. Please, do not give up Jiao Zhu." 0

I glanced at An Old Man, then at Mo Cang, who calmly raised one finger, then slowly extended a second. 0

Just as he was about to raise a third finger, I shouted, "Here’s Jiao Zhu! Let us go!" 0

"You need to understand the situation; right now, you have no qualifications to negotiate," Mo Cang replied with a confident smile. 0

I felt utterly helpless and took out Jiao Zhu, swallowing it whole. 0

"I initially thought you were a promising seed, but now it seems you're just as stubborn as they come. So don't blame me for not giving you a chance!" Mo Cang's figure moved like a shadow; before I could react, a cold hand was already gripping my throat. 0

"I'll kill you and carve open your belly. Jiao Zhu will still belong to me!" Mo Cang whispered viciously in my ear. 0

As I closed my eyes, waiting for death, a very familiar voice suddenly rang out. 0

"Who do you think you are? Have you grown any hair yet? How dare you touch my disciple?" 0

When I regained my senses, Mo Cang's hand had already retreated. 0

I was engaged in a fierce battle when I suddenly recognized a familiar bald head and voice! 0

Seeing that familiar figure brought tears to my eyes. The person who had always been so carefree in life was actually focused at this critical moment! 0

I guessed that after I went missing from H City, and with the New Year approaching, he must have searched for me all this way! 0

I shouted excitedly, "Master, what brings you here?" 0

He replied, "You little rascal! If I hadn't come, my reputation would have been ruined because of you. Once I deal with this situation, I'll make sure to teach you a lesson!" 0

Watching him fight while talking made it clear that he still had plenty of strength left. My anxious heart began to relax a little. 0
