Upon hearing Jian Jie’s bold words, Liu Er was taken aback, her jaw nearly dropping. Although she appeared tough on the surface, deep down she was still a girl, and she couldn't handle Jian Jie’s blatant teasing. Her face instantly flushed with embarrassment.
As Jian Jie passed by the room where I was held captive, our eyes unexpectedly met. In that moment of eye contact, I was certain she recognized me.
Liu Er, feeling a bit nervous, quickly changed the subject. “This is my captured plaything!”
Jian Jie grabbed a whip and tapped it lightly, saying, “How could such an entertaining thing be without me?”
She smiled at me with an air of triumph. It seemed she hadn’t forgotten our previous grudge!
My head suddenly felt heavy; dealing with Liu Er was already overwhelming enough, and now with Jian Jie here as well, I felt utterly lost.
Given what had just happened, Mo Cang must have locked himself in his room. With Jian Jie constantly following Liu Er, he had no way to intervene.
That night, I lay on the ground wide awake. It had been a while; where were Ruo Yu and the others? Had something gone wrong? I wondered what Mo Cang would look like if he found out I had been captured. And what about Jian Jie? That cunning look in her eyes?
As these thoughts swirled in my mind, I suddenly heard some movement outside.
“ Ling Feng, Mo Cang is coming today. I think I should let you go; I'm afraid…” Liu Er began to untie my ropes.
With Mo Cang's unpredictable temperament, it was hard to say what would happen next. Just as we were whispering to each other, a teasing female voice rang out, “My dear sister, are you hiding your precious plaything in a golden nest? How bold of you to be acting under your husband’s nose at this hour!”
“Jian Da Mei Nu, it’s been a while! Your tongue is still as sharp as ever!” I chuckled.
Jian Jie replied seriously, “So it’s you, the scoundrel! How did you end up caught like this? Tied up like a round ball!”
Liu Er exclaimed in surprise, “How did you wake up? I thought…”
“My dear sister, your little tricks are nothing to me. When you were trying to drug me, I already held my breath!” Jian Jie explained with exasperation.
Liu Er then asked me, “ Ling Feng, do you two know each other?”
I nodded, and Liu Er murmured, "No wonder I felt a bit familiar when I saw that monkey-like monk today. Turns out, we’re talking about the same person! What a coincidence..."
Jian Jie curled her lip and didn’t respond. Liu Er continued, "Good sister, please do us a favor. Can you keep this a secret for us?"
I laughed and said, "Liu Er, why are you begging her?"
Jian Jie shot me a glare. "If that's the case, I might just call out!"
Liu Er looked at me anxiously, as if she was ready to take action. I chuckled, "If Sister Jian really wanted to call someone, she wouldn't have waited until now."
Liu Er was flustered and seemed to realize that she was about to retaliate against Jian Jie, but Jian Jie dodged her.
Liu Er said, " Ling Feng, you should leave with Sister Jian. Mo Cang is quite terrifying; his Magic Technique has been improving recently. Otherwise, even if the three of us teamed up, we wouldn’t stand a chance against him."
Jian Jie asked suspiciously, "What kind of skills does he practice? Is he really that strong?"
Liu Er replied, "I’m not sure either, but he goes into seclusion every month. During the middle of the month, his Magic Technique diminishes significantly."
"What about you? What if I leave and Mo Cang suspects something?" I asked with concern. Then I grabbed Liu Er's wrist and said, "Let’s leave together!"
Liu Er reassured me, "It’s fine; Mo Cang doesn’t dare to act against me for now. Besides, it could be that Sister Jian knocks me out and then helps you escape! This whole plan was arranged by the Special Investigation Bureau beforehand; they sent Sister Jian to execute it."
Jian Jie asked, "You’re from the Special Investigation Bureau?"
She looked at me as I nodded, her expression skeptical. I explained, "I’m not actually part of the Special Investigation Bureau, but I do work for them."
After thinking it over, I realized Liu Er had a point. I instructed her firmly, "Make sure to protect yourself and wait for Ling Feng to come pick you up!"
Liu Er nodded and then turned to run back into the house. My leg still hadn’t fully healed; I limped as I walked. I wasn’t sure what method Jian Jie used, but the dogs in the yard were silent.
Jian Jie pondered for a moment and said, "We need to find a place to hide; otherwise, they have cars and we won’t be able to escape." She glanced at my leg as if implying that especially with me being a burden!
I smiled and said, "If you really encounter danger, just run. Don't worry about me."
Jian Jie replied, "At least you still have a bit of conscience."
I chuckled and then told Jian Jie the address of Solemn's workplace and my home. "Then just go to the city and find someone to rescue me."
Jian Jie and I chose a difficult path and headed toward a nearby village.
We found a place to hide, and soon we heard the sound of motorcycles speeding past outside. Someone shouted, "No sign of anyone; they probably didn't take this route!"
It was fortunate that it was nighttime; otherwise, we might have left some traces behind.
Once the noise outside faded away, we exited the village and continued on our way.
When we finally saw the bright lights of the city, it was already past three in the morning. As soon as we entered the city, we took a taxi directly to Solemn's location.
Sure enough, when we arrived, those guys were in a meeting discussing rescue plans. I felt a surge of anger; if I waited for them to save me, I would be dead long before that. I turned around and left the police station.
Solemn chased after me. "Ling Feng, why did you come out? We..."
I ignored him, grabbing Jian Jie and trying to catch a taxi back. Then I remembered Ruo Yu. "Where's Ruo Yu? Call him out; we need to go back first!"
Solemn hesitated, which made my heart sink. I grabbed him by the collar. "Did something happen to Ruo Yu?"
I felt my spit splatter across Solemn's face; he didn't have time to wipe it off as he explained, "Ruo Yu couldn't wait any longer; he went to Pig Farm to rescue you."
I shouted, "Why didn't you stop him? If anything happens to Ruo Yu, I won't spare you!"
I punched the wall in frustration. "Jian Jie, I need to go back for a bit. You're safe here."
With that, I hailed a taxi and rushed back.
I said in a low voice, "Ling Feng, you know how your brothers are. Who can talk sense into them?"
I glanced at Solemn, realizing that getting angry at him wasn't right. However, the moment I heard that Ruo Yu had gone to the Pig Farm, my frustration boiled over. It infuriated me even more than their indecision about a plan instead of coming to rescue me.
As the car door closed, two figures slipped in from behind—the Solemn and Jian Jie both squeezed inside.
"You two need to get out. This doesn't concern you; there's no need to risk your lives," I said coldly.
Jian Jie chuckled, "I'm going to settle my score; what does that have to do with you?"
Solemn couldn't find a solid argument and pointed at Jian Jie, saying, "It's our duty as police officers to protect the safety of beautiful women."
The driver seemed a bit impatient. "Where exactly are you all going?"
Since there were probably police officers in the car, the driver at least took us to a more distant location.
