Wen Xin kept winking at Lin Lin, occasionally flashing a mischievous smile. Lin Lin could tell that there was something fishy going on; it couldn't be as simple as just going for a stroll. However, she wanted to test Wen Xin a bit more. Pretending to be indifferent, she smiled slightly and said, "Alright, let's watch one more episode of My Fair Princess, and then I'll go out for a walk with you! The next episode is really good; I don't want to miss it!" 0

Wen Xin had no idea that Lin Lin had seen right through her. At this moment, she felt a bit anxious. Sitting there, she furrowed her brow and thought for a moment. Then she stood up, walked over to Lin Lin, grabbed her hand, and tugged her towards the door while shaking her body playfully. "You can watch TV anytime! Just come out with me for a bit! Besides, they’ll replay the show tomorrow! We can watch it then!" 0

Lin Lin pretended to be reluctant, leaning back as if she really wanted to watch TV. She smiled and said, "I understand, but I still have work to do! I can't just sit here! Good sister, let me watch the next episode first!" 0

Wen Xin still didn’t realize that Lin Lin was doing this on purpose. If she waited for Lin Lin to finish watching the next episode, it would take over an hour! By then, the food might get cold! Having already accepted the payment, there was no way out. 0

Wen Xin stopped looking for excuses and simply pulled at Lin Lin's arm to drag her outside. She was determined to act cute and stubborn without saying much else—just pulling her along relentlessly. Seeing this, Lin Lin's mom couldn’t help but laugh. "Linny! Just take her out for a walk! Look at how restless she is; don’t go too far and come back early!" 0

Once Lin Lin heard her mom’s words, she knew she couldn’t keep pretending anymore. She had no choice but to follow Wen Xin outside. After stepping out of the house and noticing that her mom hadn’t followed them, she bent down and whispered to Wen Xin with a grin, "Girl! You must have something up your sleeve! What kind of trap are you setting for me? If not, I’m not going!" 0

Wen Xin realized that her plan had been discovered by the family. Without saying much, she lowered her head and kept pulling Lin Lin forward. They turned a corner where a few trees lined the roadside; they were almost at the back of the village. Lin Lin deliberately wrapped her arms around one of the trees and refused to move. 0

Wen Xin couldn’t pull her away or act cute anymore! All she could say was, "Linlin! If you come with me, you’ll find out! Let’s go!" 0

Lin Lin grinned widely and replied, "No way! I’m not going anywhere at night! There’s no one around; I’m scared of the dark!" 0

Wen Xin burst into laughter. "What are you scared of? Just look up at that moon; it's rounder than your face! And my Er Ge..." 0

Lin Lin noticed that Wen Xin seemed to have some secretive agenda and playfully pressed on, "What about your Er Ge? What’s going on? What kind of scheme do you have in mind?" 0

Wen Xin accidentally let something slip and tilted her head in thought for a moment before saying, "I might as well tell you! My Er Ge didn’t scold me; he’s just waiting for us up ahead!" 0

Lin Lin smiled gently, lowering her head as she asked, “Is it you who asked me out, Er Ge? What’s the matter that can’t be said directly? Why make it so mysterious?” 0

Wen Xin grinned widely, “I don’t have that kind of luck! It’s not him who asked you; it’s someone else!” 0

“Someone else?” Lin Lin gazed at the moon for a moment, and a thought crossed her mind. It must be Changqing. As she thought this, a sweet smile crept onto her face. However, she felt a bit shy and said, “Maybe we shouldn’t go! It feels a bit awkward!” At that moment, she secretly hoped Wen Xin would insist on dragging her forward. If she went on her own, it would imply that she had some feelings for Changqing, which would be quite embarrassing. 0

Wen Xin had been watching her all along. Despite Lin Lin’s subtle sweet smile, Wen Xin noticed it but pretended not to as she pulled Lin Lin along. This made Lin Lin feel pleasantly flustered. Wen Xin was a bit slow to catch on, so Lin Lin thought to herself that she might as well go along with it! With that in mind, she let go of the tree and pretended to be somewhat reluctant as she followed Wen Xin. Wen Xin felt that it was easier to pull her along now, and secretly felt pleased. 0

Before long, they arrived at the grove. It was just a grove with a few poplar trees, about the thickness of an arm, their branches and leaves quite lush, creating a dark mass from afar. 0

The moonlight was as pure as snow, illuminating the ground brightly. The grove was somewhat dim but not too dark; one could clearly see Wen Sheng and Changqing standing there. Wen Sheng leaned against a tree with his arms crossed, looking up at the moon while listening to Changqing play the guitar. Since Wen Sheng wore a moon-white shirt and white pants, Wen Xin spotted him immediately upon entering the grove and pointed with a laugh, “Look! My Er Ge is over there! Haha…” 0

Of course, Lin Lin saw him too; it would be hard not to notice two living people standing there. As they walked a few more steps, they could hear Changqing strumming the guitar. It wasn’t bad; although he wasn’t very professional, it sounded nice enough. Of course, this also had to do with her mood—Lin Lin was feeling quite good. 0

Not far ahead, Wen Xin shouted, “Er Ge! We’re here, haha!” 0

Wen Sheng had already seen them and came over to greet them as they approached. Wen Xin looked up at Wen Sheng with a big grin and said, “Er Ge! I did pretty well! It took quite an effort! Look at all this sweat on my forehead!” She touched her face but found nothing there; even she knew her hands were empty. All she could do was tilt her head and grin mischievously while kicking at the ground. 0

Wen Sheng bent down and gave her a thumbs-up before nodding and smiling at her. Wen Xin was delighted and skipped over to Changqing: “Qing Ge! I worked so hard! She didn’t want to come; I had to drag her here! Time for some rewards now, haha!” 0

Changqing was also pleased and playfully pushed her shoulder while laughing: “Hey! Are you robbing me?” He reached into his pocket but found only a fifty-dollar bill. He hesitated to give it away and checked his other pocket but found no candy either. Feeling a bit embarrassed now, he didn’t know whether to leave his hand in his pocket or take it out. 0

At this moment, Lin Lin approached with a smile: “You little rascal! Are you robbing him? Don’t you have any shame?” 0

Wen Xin noticed that Changqing seemed a bit troubled and realized that the joke might have gone too far. After a moment of thought, she pretended to be angry and said, “Qing Ge, you really have no heart! Er Ge even gave me a compliment! Yet you can't even say thank you!” 0

Upon hearing that she wanted a compliment, Changqing immediately relaxed. Compliments were free and plentiful. He broke into a grin and gave Wen Xin a thumbs up, exclaiming, “Wen Xin, you’re amazing!” 0

This made Lin Lin blush! Fortunately, it was nighttime, and the trees provided some cover, so it wasn’t too noticeable. Now Changqing had moved closer to Lin Lin; although nothing significant was happening, everyone understood the situation. Wen Xin herself felt that she and Er Ge were somewhat interrupting their "business talk." 0

Wen Sheng also understood the dynamics at play. He came over and pulled Wen Xin aside, saying to Changqing, “I’m taking Wen Xin for a stroll over there!” With that, Wen Sheng led Wen Xin out of the woods, where the moonlight shone even brighter. 0

Now, only Changqing and Lin Lin remained in the forest. 0
