Wen Sheng was momentarily taken aback when he saw Changqing standing there. 0

"You actually came?" Wen Sheng looked at Changqing and said, "Let's avoid each other; you all take your time!" 0

"No need! I just want to hear what she has to say to me!" Changqing replied coldly. 0

"You!" Lin Lin had a lot to say, but when she saw Changqing's expression, the words caught in her throat. She struggled to hold back her tears, gently snapping a willow branch that brushed against her ear, swinging it back and forth in her hand. 0

"I don't want anything!" she said softly, lifting her head slightly with a faint smile. 0

"Since you don't want anything, I'll be leaving first!" Changqing turned to walk away. 0

"Qing Ge!" Wen Xin called out. 0

"Wen Xin, is there something you need?" Changqing turned back and asked slowly. 0

"Let him go," Wen Sheng said without any expression. 0

"Hah!" Changqing let out a brief laugh and hurriedly walked away into the night. 0

After Changqing left, Lin Lin squatted down and finally burst into tears. She covered her face with her arm, the warm tears streaming down onto her smooth skin, hot and sticky. The evening breeze gently blew by. The willow branches swayed softly, the river surface rippled lightly, and the Lotus Flower opened its snow-white petals under the moonlight, revealing its delicate golden stamens. 0

Wen Sheng stood by the riverbank with his hands behind his back, gazing at the rippling water. Lin Lin's crying seemed to have nothing to do with him. 0

"Stop crying!" Wen Xin gently shook her. 0

Lin Lin remained silent, simply continuing to cry. 0

Wen Sheng reached out and pulled Wen Xin close, wrapping his arm around her shoulders and occasionally stroking her cloud-like hair. 0

"Maybe if you cry it out, you'll feel better. When someone has been wronged, it's natural to cry; it just depends on whether it's worth it!" Wen Sheng sighed. 0

"I'm fine. I just want to be alone for a while. Why don't you all head back first?" Lin Lin said, her voice steady as she stopped crying. 0

"It's late at night; we should head back! Changqing will be worried!" Wen Sheng replied. 0

"Do you think I still care about him?" Lin Lin smiled slightly. "I just want some time to myself." 0

"Alright then! Just get home early!" Wen Sheng said, turning back with Wen Xin in tow. 0

"I know!" Lin Lin remained crouched down. 0

"Er Ge! Are we really leaving Lin Lin behind to go home?" Wen Xin asked, stopping on the bridge and looking up at him. 0

"Of course not! We can see her clearly from here! It's good for her to have some time alone," Wen Sheng assured her. 0

"Let's wait for her here!" Wen Xin held onto Wen Sheng's fingers tightly. 0

"What is love really like? Can it truly make someone cry?" Wen Sheng murmured to himself. 0

Standing on the bridge, the night looked different; all the scenery on the river was laid out before them. 0

"The night is beautiful!" Wen Sheng exhaled softly. 0

"You haven't gone back yet!" Lin Lin, having calmed down for a moment, joined them on the bridge, gazing at the water's surface. 0

"How wonderful it would be to be like a fish!" Lin Lin exclaimed. 0

"Have you finished crying? Are you okay? Don't be too sad now!" Wen Sheng said with a gentle smile. 0

"The sadness has long passed!" Lin Lin replied with a bright smile, her cheeks flushing as she noticed Wen Sheng was studying her intently. 0

"You look really beautiful! Don't overthink it, just go home and get some rest!" Wen Sheng said kindly. 0

As Lin Lin returned home, Wen Sheng and Wen Xin finally made their way back as well. 0

"Changqing, I hate you! I hate you!" Lin Lin shouted like a ghost, her hair disheveled as she confronted Changqing. 0

"Ah! Ah!" Changqing gasped, tumbling off the bed in shock. 0

Wiping the sweat from his forehead, the dream he had just experienced vividly replayed in his mind. The breeze rustled the curtains as Changqing turned on the light, taking a moment to calm himself by surveying the room. He then pulled back the curtains to find it dark outside. The wind stirred the fallen leaves, creating a soft rustling sound. 0

Glancing at the clock on the table, he realized it was already past midnight. 0

"I had a terrifying dream last night! I'm feeling a bit scared and regretful. Did I hurt her?" Changqing wrote down his thoughts before tearing the paper into shreds. 0

He turned off the light again and lay in bed, unable to fall asleep. The night felt interminably long. 0

At some unknown hour, Changqing was jolted awake from his dreams by persistent knocking at the door. 0

It was his sister, Chang Ru. 0

"Wake up! Wen Sheng is calling for you; it's urgent!" Chang Ru urged anxiously. 0

“What’s going on?” Changqing asked as he sat up. 0

“He’s asking you to hurry and answer the phone!” Chang Ru knocked on the door. 0

“Okay!” Changqing quickly got dressed and opened the door. He went straight to the main hall, saw the phone on the table, and picked it up. “Wen Sheng, what’s the matter? Why the rush?” 0

“I have some bad news for you! Lin Lin is dead!” Wen Sheng’s voice was calm yet gentle. 0

But each word pierced Changqing's heart like a needle. 0

“Is it true?” Changqing asked, his voice trembling with disbelief. 0

“Do you think I would joke about something like this?” Wen Sheng replied coldly. 0

Changqing steadied himself with his left hand on the table, but the phone slipped from his grasp. 0
