In the car, two figures lit cigarettes, exhaling clouds of smoke.
Zhou Yu, with a strange expression, asked, "I have the hotel room card. Do you want to go in?" Being called out in the middle of the night, he thought something serious had happened, only to find out it was about catching someone in the act—well, not exactly that, more like catching a childhood friend.
Having multiple hotels at home wasn't necessarily a good thing.
Nan Jing didn't respond, but judging by his expression, he was clearly not in a good mood. He finished a cigarette and attempted to get out of the car when Yun Zhi Yue walked out.
Zhou Yu noticed, "Her outfit is different from the photo; she changed clothes." He quickly added, "No, that's not what I meant."
Nan Jing's face darkened further. Without saying a word, he pressed the accelerator and followed Yun Zhi Yue's white vehicle.
Strangely enough, at this late hour, Yun Zhi Yue didn't head home. Instead, she turned into the bustling Nocturnal City, known for its numerous bars and vibrant nightlife.
Yun Zhi Yue parked but didn't get out.
Ten minutes later, a discreet black sedan pulled up around her white car. A tall man in a black suit emerged from the driver's seat, glancing around suspiciously.
He held a pair of black high heels in one hand and a shopping bag from a well-known brand in the other. After opening Yun Zhi Yue's car door, he handed her the bag and then cautiously surveyed the surroundings while holding the heels.
From a distance, Zhou Yu observed everything with curiosity. "That guy looks familiar," he remarked.
"He's one of Yun Shu's bodyguards; he's often with her," Nan Jing replied with a deep expression.
Zhou Yu felt intrigued; he had a hunch that tonight would reveal something unexpected.
As the door of the white car opened, the first thing visible was a pair of fair feet with a hint of pink at the joints—so clear even from this distance.
The bodyguard Gang Zi quickly crouched down to help Yun Zhi Yue put on her high heels. There was no sense of discomfort or subservience; it felt as if this was how it should be.
That innate aura of a young lady reached its peak with this simple action. She wore a pure black strapless dress that hugged her figure tightly, revealing her fair skin and leaving just enough fabric to cover her hips.
With her alluring legs crossed in black high heels, she lazily sat at the front of the white luxury car. She beckoned to her bodyguard with a flick of her finger.
“Gang Zi,” he said, his face turning pale. “My lady, why are you out here playing in the middle of the night again? If Yun Dong finds out, losing your job will be the least of my worries; I might as well pack my bags and leave Beijing!”
“Enough with the nonsense. Do you think I can’t afford to feed you? Hurry up and bring it over; I can’t wait for another round,” she replied dismissively.
Gang Zi had no retort; after all, what Yun Zhi Yue said made sense. She was the sole heir of the Yun Family. He pulled out the tools of their trade, and she took them, holding them between her fingers as Gang Zi stepped forward to light it.
The scene was filled with the intoxicating mix of cigarettes, beautiful women, and luxury cars. It was like a magnet, drawing in greedy onlookers who appeared drunk but were actually quite sober.
In an instant, Gang Zi’s previously lethargic demeanor transformed into one of sharp intensity. Any man who dared to approach was met with a rough shove, their gazes quickly averted as they stumbled back.
The once loud and obnoxious flies now shrank away, intimidated by the bulging muscles surrounding her.
Yun Zhi Yue paid no mind to it all; she seemed lost in thought but was actually very aware of her surroundings. It wasn’t surprising that the Puppet Body had a rebellious side—after all, she was the pampered only daughter of the Yun Family. Just look at how she dared to confront Zhou Yu about marriage; it was clear she wasn’t one to be trifled with.
In her memories, there were times when she felt restless and had taken her bodyguards out for a night on the town.
