Yun Zhi Yue smiled mysteriously, "Have you all experienced the chamber on that level? You must have seen the special cabin for Zombies next door, right? That isn't for leveling up; I call it the Blood Clan Altar."
"The Blood Clan Altar? What is that? What does it do?"
Yun Zhi Yue stood up and placed a hand on Ye Zhi's shoulder. "Do you see? These Zombies possess human intelligence. Unlike you, their bodies are already dead and require flesh and blood to survive. They exist in complete opposition to humanity; they are not accepted by you, yet recognized by the world. Since they are acknowledged, their existence here is justified."
"The Blood Clan Altar can purify the bodies of Zombies, allowing them to maintain a state of semi-eternal decay—dead yet not rotting. Those Zombies who undergo the baptism of the Blood Clan Altar, I refer to as the Blood Clan. As long as there is fresh blood, they can live indefinitely. However, the price of eternity is that they must avoid sunlight; eternal night is their domain, sleeping under the sun and hunting under the moon."
"If you don't want the level ten reward, you can exchange it for something else—transform into an eternal Blood Clan member."
Zhou Xiaoshou stared at Yun Zhi Yue in disbelief, his lobster no longer appealing. "What are you talking about? Eternal? Are you joking?"
Ouyang Yan interjected, confused, "Sister-in-law, we haven't dealt with the Zombies yet, and now you're helping these high-level Zombies evolve? Isn't that putting humanity in a difficult position?"
Yun Zhi Yue nodded. "It indeed complicates things for humanity, but you must understand that the food chain is a circle. Humanity is not above all others. It's too early to speak of opposition; the conflict between humans and the Blood Clan will only arise after we resolve the Zombie issue."
Ye Zhi added, "If they want to live with dignity and no longer feast on flesh or suffer from decaying bodies, they must kill enough Zombies to obtain Crystal Cores and enter the Blood Clan Altar for purification. The premise for the Blood Clan's survival is that Zombies must cease to exist; only then can they establish themselves in this world. Eternity is real, but the Blood Clan is not without weaknesses."
Su Shou pointed at Ye Zhi's heart location.
Yun Zhi Yue smirked. "The bodies of the Blood Clan do not have Crystal Cores; their internal organs are non-functional. They only need to consume fresh blood. No matter where they are injured, they will heal rapidly and have no lifespan limitations. However, silver is their natural enemy. If pierced through the heart with silver, they will fall into eternal sleep. Additionally, if a low-level Blood Clan member is exposed to sunlight, they will be burned to ashes."
"They are beasts of the night who view humans as prey for blood. Their thirst for blood and desire will be infinitely magnified, leading them into an inescapable abyss of bloodlust—that is the price of eternity."
Ye Yao's face paled. "Yun Zhi Yue, my brother..."
"Your brother is currently the highest-level Zombie among them," Yun Zhi Yue replied. "He's a man; how could he lack ambition? Taking this step would be crossing a chasm—do you think he wouldn't choose?"
Ye Yao looked at her brother with downcast eyes and pursed her lips. "If he has to drink blood, that's fine; it's better than eating flesh. But what about desire? Why would that be magnified?"
Yun Zhi Yue chuckled as she patted Ye Zhi's shoulder, bending over with laughter. "This little girl is truly adorable; her focus is so amusing." After laughing enough, she explained with a smile, "It's simple: whether Zombies or Blood Clan members, they ultimately stem from human mutations. Humans are creatures driven by strong emotions and desires; however, killing intent and lust are what most challenge self-control."
"Humans naturally possess a sense of shame and self-restraint, but Blood Clan members are no longer human. Some repressed desires will surge forth; while killing intent can be alleviated through blood consumption, lust must also find an outlet."
"Rest assured—even after becoming a Blood Clan member, they can still engage with humans in that way. Once they evolve to a certain degree, their fangs can transform humans into their kin; they can remain eternal companions."
"Who just arrived?" someone exclaimed. "A lifelong partner? The price is just too high! No matter how good-looking they are, after a thousand years, you'd get tired of them."
Yun Zhi Yue laughed uncontrollably, fully agreeing. "You're absolutely right. So, whether or not to transform into a partner requires careful consideration."
Under the watchful gaze of Yun Zhi Yue, Ye Zhi calmly asked, "Can we go to the Blood Clan Altar now?"
Ye Yao's eyes widened in disbelief. "Brother! You didn't even hesitate?"
